Strongly recommend! The selective exam practice tests were very similar to the actual test and it really helped

I’m not sure about other JAC but the one here at Glen Waverley is terrible. They are so not professional in teaching and very poor communication at the reception. The owner (Anne) seems to be very rude and all they care about is money. Just because they open throughout the school holiday as well it means if you’re going away for that period you will just lose your credit at the time absentee even if you tell them a week or two in advance.

They are really good and help you learn. The management at the Glen Waverley centre is very cooperative and understanding.

Tried one semester, stop straight away after that. The way they coaching students are rubbish. They just hand out lots of test paper let you to do it, and they don’t care if you get right or wrong. Not actually teach anything.

This is a horrible place to go. At first they will seem helpful and nice, but after every class, their attention goes away and it is clear that all they want to do is make money. The test papers they give mostly always has a question that has an incorrect answer, and their method of teaching in a class is really bad. It is basically like a normal school. Would not recommend at all. >: (Even in remote learning, they assign only one teacher to teach 399 students, and that teacher isn't even good. She even mentioned that she "doesnt care if some of the students dont like her". That is such a terrible attitude to have towards students. Hate this place.

Here’s to the parents out there,

Are you really sure you want your kids to go there? I’m a student at JAC and i have done both the scholarship course and selective course.

Both are to prepare for either a scholarship test or selective school test for going to Mac Rob or Melbourne high.

So each student gets an account for an online course. This includes up to 4 ‘practice’ tests every week that you are expected to complete for HOMEWORK. And not to mention that you also do another 2 ‘practice’ test during your weekly classes.

The online tests are always unfairly hard. And they do it on purpose. They make the questions as boring as possible so that the student feels no motivation and the questions are incredibly hard. This is to bring down your overall test score, so that when you see it, you think that your child is not performing well. But they’re not, if they can score over 50%, that’s good enough. The reason for bringing down the child’s score is so that you send them to more JAC classes, in order to help them ‘improve’. And classes ain’t cheap, so they are using this to their advantage to earn more money off you.

So why are the tests there?

Lemme tell you,

It is there so that YOU think that James An College is really there to try and help benefit your child. You think that they specially design these tests (they don’t, some includes copyright) to ‘help’ your child by giving them an excessive amount of homework.

But dont be fooled, it is actually commercial move to get more money.and during the classes each week, they give you two practice tests. They make these tests easier, so that the teachers will have no trouble explaining the questions, so that when your child gets home, they feel good that they scored well on the test.

And let me get to the holiday part, where they give you up to 100 ‘practice’ tests for your child to complete.and they are also just as hard, so that you think your child is slacking off during the holidays. But they’re not, its just another commercial move to make money off you. This time, by wanting you to enrol your child into their holiday program.

So if you want your child to actually live a life, don’t go there. It’s no good for their mental health, as many people do end up depressed over all the homework they get form JAC, let alone their day school.

Went to this tutoring school in preparation for an exam. I found the staff to be very persistent in selling a particular textbook and the overall lessons to range from unhelpful to mildly helpful. Most students were using phones. I don't consider the merit of tutoring in such environment to be helpful.
