This is a great library for parents and kids. Went along to a book reading for babies today and had a lot of fun. The parents room and change room is good as well as the cafe. Looking forward to spending a lot of time here.
The Maker's Space is fantastic too with Laser Cutting, 3D Printing & a vinyl cutter

Absolute madness of a library. It’s like it was designed by someone who hates the concept of a library. As others have mentioned it’s nonstop screaming babies, and kids roaming around the 2nd floor thinking it’s an extension of their play area.

Why on earth would you make the library an open space and then put a coffee shop and a kindergarten in it? ! And then give only 1 toilet sized “quiet room” for the people who actually (shocker) go to the library to read and focus and get some quiet from all the other noisy places in the city. Like there are plenty of cafes around already? !? Or if you want to include all those things separate them with architecture. Whoever designed this should be punished.

The library is not the ideal place to study quietly, as you will constantly be bombarded with people chatting with friends or walking around and talking loudly on their phones. It would be appropriate to ask these people to respect others and to go downstairs if they need to talk.

Very helpful staff especially girl named Erin who work on second floor she's very nice and professional with big knowledge about computers.i have only good words about that girl and this library management should be happy to have her as employee.

I always feel good after visiting the library because of the lovely physical environment and professional and friendly staff.

I was usually very impressed with the friendly staffs there but not today.

I visited about 10 mins ago to pick up some of RAT test kits for my gf, didn't realised it was 2 mins passed 5pm and that was closing time. I saw crowd coming out so the door was opened.

I tried to get in and all of a sudden this strange looking guy (very casually dressed, messy hair and beard with gingerish about 170cm tall man) came to me & yelled at me like "the door is opened doesn't mean it's excuse for enter! " I was in shock cause this guy clearly doesn't seem like a staff at all but saw he was wearing lanyard. I was trying to explain that I am pickup the RAT test Kit but he just turn around and yell "NO! ". There were bunch of people coming out from the workshop stuffs so plenty of witnesses were there & they were in shock too.

I was outside and able to see him inside cause of the class feature wall. He was clearly being so polite to Caucasian patrons but why so rude to me? Wondering with the impression that if part of staffs like this man here could be racist?

This definitely need to be looked into it if the library want to keep the name of "Cultural Hub" and not too sure if I would visit this library again.

The new library and in particular the exhibit and performance spaces are a great addition to the area.

I love this library! Wish it was open until a bit late would be perfect! The vibe in the evening here would be so nice.

Good library to attend with internet access, the compuers are seperated in there own area with tabkes in the middle. The site has been rebuilt and building has a more open feel. The car park has also changed with two parks for electric vehicles these two spots arrive by the main road. This place has a cafe indoors with grewt coffee and cakes. The libarary has lifts for peopke with needs.

Sad to see the beautiful Mid Century Ivanhoe Library has been replaced by a 'shiny' new building. What a shame those involved didn't have the skill or will to incorporate old with new.

Great newly upgraded library! Amazing new facilities: kids area, theatre, café, seed library, maker space, historic room, accessible toilets, maternal health care centre, and great collection. Good views of the city to the south. New building ties in well into the existing council building.

The best architecturally built building in the North! Great views of the city skyline, space to study, outdoor café, play areas for kids and art to explore.

Excellent collection of movies. The library has been rebuilt into a relax place, more room, more space.

Great space. A variety of informal work spaces available, as well as Maternal services, Children's Library, Maker's Space (featuring laser cutter and 3D printer), Artist studio, IT room with projector, Large community meeting rooms, art galleries and cafe. Gendered, non-gendered and ambulent toilets, changing place, parents room, drinking fountain, pushchair parking, bicycle parking, plentiful power and USB ports. A lovely centre with a positive vibe.

Beautiful new library and cultural hub with lifts and stairs, and a coffee shop. Separate space for the children's library. Great city views from the library.

Newly renovated and completely rethought.
It's a beautiful modern looking building with space to work, read quietly or even play for the kids. Inside is very spatious, including a café, a theater opening on the outside. The kids library is downstairs: shelves are no more crowded nor are the benches.

They've done a really good job on this place and it really does seem to be a community hub. Went in today for the first time since it was the old Libary and it was a hive of activity. Many people using the many spaces to work and study. The layout is great and the facilities are well thought out. Free Wifi, bookable study / meeting rooms, plugs and chargers for people to charge their devices, a cafe. Staff were on hand to help. It's one of the best suburban community 'hubs' I've see implemented. The other thing I really liked is the way they have integrated this new building onto the amazing and iconic Art Deco Town Hall building, really nicely done.

The Ivanhoe Library & Cultural Hub is now open. I only arrived as they were packing up from the opening ceremony, but the amazing architecture of the place more than compensated.
The art spaces are a feature & and I met the friendly artists in residence: Junko - she does Japanese Ink Art & Katherine - who works with colour.

Wonderful new space, brilliant architecture that fits in beautifully with the 1937 heritage-listed town hall.

Computers are good for public access, but you have enough time to read at least one library book while they boot up after login, and then open the internet.
