Island Surfboards

My bestfriend and I come down for a weekend from Gold Coast as beginner surfers and come in and spoke with Kev. He was so friendly and eager to help two beginner surfers looking for some guidance and tips. We then went on to have the best surf we had since we began our surf journey a few months ago. Consider the gnar at smiths beach well and truely shred. Kelly slater is shaking in his boots. All for Kev! 10/10 recommend

Rec'd my kneeboard dec'22 after a detailed run through of what I needed by Ringa, who explained in basic terms and then ordered. After that delt with Keven who also was very helpful and upon picking the kneeboard up gave me a generous trade in on my 6'2" board and deals on other accessories. Only one thing which went wrong, I ordered a rounded square tail, but the shaper, Deno, did a fishtail. I was offered to change it, but did not want to wait any longer for another board. Happy with the fishtail performance, but the tail damaged easily and currently attempting to fix this myself. However, overall would recommend Island Surfboards.

Great store with plenty of surfboard range. I got an Island Performance Softboard a few months ago and love it! Great option for small days or a board you can give to friends to muck around with. Easy to surf but still heaps of fun.

Amazing customer service. I was in the market for a new surfboard and the team here was incredibly helpful. I've only previously bought second hand boards, so I had a lot of questions to ask and they took the time to explain everything I needed to know. Where as it felt like other surf shops were just trying to sell to me, the team here had nothing but time to make sure I made the right choice. I ended up going for a custom shaped board after trying a few demos and it's riding extremely well. Would highly recommend!

Bought rollerskates for my daughter. Great customer service. Shared heaps of extra hints and tips for getting started. Great knowledge.

Was extremely disappointed at customer service by a female employee who told us to leave the store for not wearing a mask. Even though family and I are extremely loyal customers who have lived on the island for years and spent plenty of money there too. Hesitant to come again, very disappointed.

If I could provide a zero star review, I would. Worst customer service experience I've received in a very long time. Staff werent helpful, didnt seen interested in providing assistance at all. The manager was more interested in chatting with his mates than looking after customers, and made a smart remark when I accidentally asked one of his "mates" if I could get assistance stating "Oh mate, I should put you on the pay roll after helping out that guy". Not a great experience at all!

If you're in need of surf gear this is definitely a great shop wether you're a professional or just starting out, the staff can sort ya out!
Popping in and just talking to the staff is accessing a wealth of knowledge. Ringa you're a bloody legend mate!

I purchased a Flow, Island Surfboard and the short answer is if I could give 6 stars I would. Kevin in the Cowes store was fantastic. We spent some time finding out where I was at and then he explained why the Flow surfboard was a good fit to help me progress. His experience paid dividends once I was in the water with my new stick. Initially it was just a bit ahead of my beginner level but with the extra performance improvement came. The volume selected was spot on with just enough paddle but also beginner manoeuvrability to help learn to speed pump and then progress to turn rail to rail. It will also hold me in good stead on bigger days as it has the rocker and with the extra paddle it will help catch bigger waves earlier. This was one of the best customer experiences I have had.

Great service as always. Just grabbed a new board and cover and couldn't be happier. Thanks Sandy & the team.

Excellent range of clothing and swimwear. Staff are super helpful- big thanks to Kev for helping us get some gear for our son. Fits perfectly and he loves it!

Great place. Was just browsing to possibly get a new board and got great advice about progressing on the board that I have instead. Not what you'd expect in a touristy place like Phillip Island, love it! Will be back, if only for a block of wax)
