We were so full that we ate the air-fried and ate the Wagyu Pie & the Chestnut Pie the next day, yet they’re really REALLY good!

We ordered the takeway bento and sashimi platter to have at home during lockdown - the food was impeccable! The food was so well balanced and sashimi was super fresh.we thoroughly enjoyed the food and would highly recommend!
We had the most wonderful premium sashimi delivered from Ishizuka. Streets ahead of anything we’ve had in Melbourne; the only place that has come close is Minimishima. Quite extraordinary range and the quality can only be described as divine. Amazingly only the scallop was from Japan.
Ishizuka put together a well thought out experience for their "at home" menu during lockdown. I ordered in for my partner's birthday and everything from the delivery, packaging, paper choices, to the presentation was elevated. We had the master bento, the sashimi, and the truffle, wagyu, and foie gras pie. All delicious. Seriously, the pie was the best thing we've eaten in a long time. Lastly, the restaurant went above and beyond to correct something that had not gone as planned which maintained the incredible experience. You will not be disappointed dining with Ishizuka.
The set menu with non alcoholic pairing set was a spectacular experience! Every single staff member and ambiance contributed to making this the most beautiful and peaceful dining experience for me.
Highlights from the winter menu were the:
•Toro onigiri aka "butter fish". It liquified as it went it my mouth. It's like the wagyu of fishes. I've had toro before but not this of high grade.
•A5 wagyu with the many rich elements that came with it.
Every other dish was made with the highest quality ingredients
Thank you Ishizuka
Cute place, hard to find, if not led by friend I would be mad to find it.
Didn't feel full despite ordering extra sushi. We ended up to have some Chinese fried skewers.
The food and drinks were lovely! Definitely was a great stop while visiting. Gave my friends a feeling of being back home!
Heaven on earth! This is the best Japanese restaurant in Melbourne! Food quality is exceptionally good and fresh, staffs are amazingly attentive and professional, the vibe of the restaurant is LUXE! Cannot wait to be back!
Went there for my birthday, today and had an amazing experience.
Japanese kaiseki cuisine was delicious! The food is prepared in front of you by skilled chefs and the atmosphere is really nice. I especially loved the toro sushi, wagyu sushi and the fennel mousse with sea urchin and caviar that we got for the first course. As well as the sesame and miso soup with mochi.
The drinks were also delicious!
I got a complimentary daifuku with anko and strawberry for my birthday which was delicious!
Hope to be coming back some day!
Chef Jono is a genius. 12 seater Japanese degustation meal, attentive service, familiar Japanese flavours with a fine dining flair. They change their menu seasonally.
Enjoyed.
Unfortunately, when I made the booking I was expecting the autumn menu but I missed out
ご馳走様でした
From start to finish this was an experience to savor.the restaurant is nested in a basement and once you enter, you experience a wonderful journey in time to Japan. You follow a set menu and are taken from seafood to wagyu beef and then to amazing desserts. Service is fantastic, everyone is so knowledgeable.the seating allows you to watch all the chefs from any location, feeling intimate and comfortable. Simply brilliant
Went there for a birthday dinner celebration. Another great night with great food served! Love the A5 wagyu! Dessert was improved compared to the Christmas menu. Can’t wait to try their new menu
Good place to enjoy the Japanese fine dining outside Japan. Wine list is well prepared to pair with the dishes. One funny thing is if you ask the chef the quality of Kagoshima A5 beef they served compare to Kobe beef. You may get a interesting answer.)
Was definitely an amazing experience. Was the most expensive meal I’ve ever had but have also tried all the delicacies I have wanted to try. Would recommend:)
Worth every penny saved for the occasion. What an experience. The dishes were amazing. Nothing was out of place, it was simply delish. Would love to come again and experience another season's menu.
Ishizuka is definitely the best fine dining Japanese restaurant in melbourne (and likely Australia), with the best kaiseki selections. It is very cultural as well, they change their menu for each season. Using the special ingredients in that season. So far I have tried their summer autumn and winter menus, each has its own “wow” factors.
Highly recommended if you would like to experience Japan, but can't go with all the covid restrictions. It is definitely a very special dining experience that no other restaurant can compete.
Located in a mysterious basement but oh boy. The food and service is so good, everyone is so nice! The whole time eating, I am just thinking about how lucky I am to be able enjoy this food. One of the best fine dining experience I have ever had.
Very fantastic experience.
Loved the environment and food.
Staffs and chefs are friendly.
8 of us had dinner here and everyone was very satisfied. Excellent service, great food, beautiful presentation and nice ambience.
