InStitchu, Melbourne Little Collins Street

Janki and Camille from InStitchu Little Collins are experts in suits and a pleasure to know both of them. Both have delivered excellent results for me and my suits every time. I have recommended them and InStitchu to my colleagues and friends for their professional and personal needs, and they all had the same positive feedback. I highly appreciate both Janki and Camille/InStitchu for their service.

Ok, the fit isn't really perfect. I'm out of time. We have had 4 appointments over many weeks. You know when you put on a custom made suit that's been cut for you from scratch and you think WOW, this isn't it.

You suggest that body heat will help things. I've never struck this before in a custom made suit. I think the solution was to sew a press stud into the vest to hold it down, with the words that's just how it is. It isn't right, cause it wasn't cut right from the start.

Our group took a couple of the institchu suits to another tailor to adjust after a few of the party were not totally happy and she said that they were fairly poorly made. The seams were too narrow to make very many adjustments, suit collars cut cheaply. That the template used to cut them was for a very different body shape to a standard Australian cut.

The reality is the suits are made in China offshore to pre-cut template and then adjusted in AUS to the person so they're not custom made fully from scratch for that person's size. The Web site says "Completely Customisable And Made-To-Measure", this is misleading and not entirely accurate.

I've had better experiences. Zac Men Tailors, for much better price.

I will say that Janki S was excellent in the Little Collins Street store and did her absolute best. However, for the fit and the money there are better options out there.

I did get a call from customer service. The comment was made that my feedback was fair and accurate. That the templates used cover 60-70% of body types but not all shapes unfortunately.
I appreciate this.
I paid $400 more to go to Institchu than Zac Mens, same 3 piece, but Zac's came with a shirt.
Customer service acknowledged my comments, but no offer of compensation. They were however very fast to require 100% of the money upfront, unlike other tailors who take perhaps 50%. And it feels like once they have your money, it's game over.

Janki and her team have provided above and beyond exceptional service.and Institchu have delivered the most beautiful suits I have ever worn.

Amazing service! It was my first time ever buying a suit. Camille was super lovely and knowledgeable, I highly recommend her! Camille really helped a lot with picking out the style, fabric/material, which combination works best. Process was easy beginning to end. Highly recommend In-Sitchu to get your first suit!

Janki and Camille were first rate. Janki helped with colour and material selection and Camille had many tips to complement my style. From the moment I stepped into the shop at Little Collins St.to the moment I stepped out with me wedding tuxedo it was an awesome experience. The tux was made to perfection and InStitchu were extremely accomodating with all of my specific needs and requests. Special shout-out to Brogan who helped design, conceptualise and bring to life my tux. Awesome guidance and recommendation for all other aspects and accessories that go along with the suit were given without hesitation. Will definitely be returning for all formal attire needs!

Perfect Fit and 12 week turnaround are a lie!

Ordered with more than the recommended 12 weeks and Grooms shirt just straight up was not ready in time for wedding. Had to source a shirt from elsewhere. Suit itself only ready days prior to wedding and not thrilled with quality or fit. If I were to try on the end product in a store, no way I would have purchased. But hey they already took my money, so what do they care. What a business model.

Multiple instances of saying the right thing and then just not actioning it. Call back a week later to find they hadn’t done anything they had said they would. Horrible comms throughout. Twice I was told items were ready for pickup, only to call to confirm or go in store and they couldn’t locate. Told me to come back another day. Multiple times I called the showroom with an hour before supposed closing time but seems they also don’t mind an early knock off.

Try your luck elsewhere

We came into Institchu looking for groom/best-man suits, hoping for a positive process under professional, expert guidance. What our consultant Camille provided was all that and more. Over and above her confident and practical - yet thoroughly charming - interpersonal approach, her clear passion and technical expertise is something else. Her intuitive eye for all the key details of fitting and styling our suits was truly impressive; when we tried the finished products on for the first time at the store, the look and feel was precisely what we had hoped for, no further tweaks needed. Also, the depth, breadth and nuance of her styling sensibility in discussion around coordinating shoes, belts, ties and accessories was invaluable. We simply could not recommend our experience with Camille at Institchu more highly.

Camille from InStitchu Little Collins has helped out with several of my suits now. She is extremely knowledgeable and lovely to deal with. The suits are a perfect fit every time. I have referred people I work with, and friends for their weddings and everyone of them had the same great experience. Highly recommend, I couldn't be happier with Camille/InStitchu!

Went to Institchu to get a Tuxedo, shirts and overcoat for my winter wedding. Fantastic service right from the initial consultation, measuring a fitting from Camille. Great advice on styling and fabrics. Attention to detail when it came to the final alterations and fitting was top notch. It all fitted like a glove and is the most comfortable I’ve ever felt in a suit!

Ordered a second suit and shirt for a friends wedding almost immediately after! Thanks again to Camille and Institchu.

Incredible service from knowledgeable and charming staff. Especially Camille who knew the ins and outs of styles of suit so much that even a scrub like me could look dapper on his wedding day. She should be paid more.

Avoid. I had bought some custom clothing, was happy with the experience, was in the tailoring process and was told that if clothing needed to be altered, that I could bring them back (despite being outside of the initial perfect-fit guarantee period due to other circumstances that was communicated and agreed upon). Brought clothing back for minor tailoring and was told that I would have to pay. Shame on me for not getting in store conversations in writing as it appears customer details aren't captured/shared between their staff.

Also, one pair of pants had conspicuous tailoring threads on the outside of the garment, which I pointed out and had asked to be fixed, but it wasn't, so their tailoring quality/care factor isn't that great. If you are looking for custom garments, look elsewhere is my advice.

Extremely happy with the service I received from Brogan and the team at InStitchu Little Collins street. Brogan took the time to make sure I understood the process from start to finish and the result was amazing. From the quality of the suit to the fit, Brogan had me sorted. I would highly recommend Brogan to anyone looking for a great stylist!
