Instant Windscreens & Tinting reviews
56 Had a windscreen fitted a few years ago and they cut a small nick in my dash in two places, which I didn't notice until I was washing the interior a few weeks later.
My bad for not checking. Grrr!
Great automotive glass specialists
Did an excellent job on a tricky project
Many thanks
It took three attempts to install a new windscreen. On the second attempt, while organising another date, the windscreen was the turn up the day before and I was to drop the car off the next morning, which I did. I had to call (at 3pm) to find out what was happening, to be told it’ll be another hour. This meant I had to change pickups/after work activities at short notice.
It felt like the issues that I experienced was common and no real care for the inconvenience it would/did cause the customer. I got a price for window tinting but after this experience I won’t be going back.
Initially nice service but the chip that was meant to be removed is still there.
Going back to RACV to source alternative.
Reasonably priced. Quick and efficient service. Booking and quotes were all easily offered and sorted out. Happy to have finally replaced my driver side window that had tinting that was peeling off. Smooth experience overall. Would use them again if required for other tint or glass service related issues.
First and foremost, I'd like to acknowledge the exceptional service provided by the ladies at the front of the house. Ashleigh, in particular, demonstrated sensational interpersonal skills and made me feel like a valued part of the team. People like her are an invaluable asset to any business, and she truly exemplified the Instant Windscreens brand.
However, my positive experience ended there. After requesting a repair, I encountered a team that appeared disinterested and idle. The individual who assessed our car had significant language barriers, making it difficult to understand his assessment. He incorrectly stated that a prior repair had been done when, in fact, the chip had only occurred a few days earlier. He then suggested replacing the entire screen, which made me question if this was an attempt to keep the team busy or if there was some sort of incentive involved.
To make matters worse, the repair itself was exorbitantly priced at $240 for two small chips, and the quality of the work left much to be desired. The chips were essentially unchanged after the repair, and I felt like I had essentially thrown away $240. Additionally, upon returning home, I discovered a bottle of solution left on the back windshield wiper (which I will return, as I believe it may be needed for future repairs). This oversight further reinforced my impression of dealing with an unprofessional outfit.
Once again, I want to emphasize that without the exceptional service provided by the front-of-house staff, I would have undoubtedly requested a refund. Unfortunately, the service I received from the team in the back did not meet my expectations. It felt like a vastly different experience, akin to a quiet gathering at an unfamiliar bar with a few individuals idly hanging around.
To the front-of-house ladies, I extend my heartfelt thanks for their legendary service. However, based on my overall experience, I regret to say that I will not be using the Instant Windscreens brand in the future and cannot recommend it to others.
The windsceen replacement was perfect.
I did have issues with the booking process which needs some attention. The first booking made 3 days in advance was for the crew to arrive between 8-9am so the vehicle could be on the road by midday, however they crew arrived at 2.30pm.
The second booking wasn't arranged in advance, with a phone call at 7.30am to advise someone will be there in 30 minutes.
Very terrible service and NOT recommended.
We changed the front motor glass at instant windscreen in Moorabbin, but their glass stickered uneven and full of bubbles.and also they broke my windshield wiper. They refused to repair for me.
Excellent service, they were able to fit me in straight away and the chip repair was done in no time. 10/10 recommend.
Avoid if you want to do yourself a favour.
1. Technician came but messed up the job which should take 1.5hr but took him 5hr. The technician left an unfinished job with not working brake lights and boot light and wiring.
They came and fixed the brake light after a week or so.
2. I was called in to drop off the car to get the boot light and wiring fixed. That took me 30min one way, during work.
After turning up, they said the spare parts were not available and I have to come back another time. 2 weeks later I still didn’t get a call. I followed up and within another week I was called to come in again. So a waste of 1 hr work time.
3. I came in and dropped the car off, left it and got an aged company Ute from them for the duration it took to fix the car. Took me again 30min one way so another hour lost off work.
Upon my return a $2 coin which i always keep for parking was missing from the middle console.
These guys offer poor customer service after they messed up a job. I would expect them coming to my work rather than me coming to them to get their mess fixed.
Had my windows replaced, a week earlier than the competition. Upgraded to tinted windows and were finished rapidly - very impressive service
Quick. Easy and friendly and affordable price. They did what you wants High recommended for every one.
I recently had my car windows tinted at Instant Windscreens in Moorabbin and the staff were fantastic. They really know their stuff when it comes to window tinting! "
As mobile automotive service our vehicles are required around the clock. A booking for 8am 15/3/23 for a hiace rear window. This booking was made on the 10/3/23 at 2.37pm. Come Wednesday 15/3 no arrival for repairs had been attended. I contact instant windscreens to be told only a quote was made. I asked why was I given a time and date for a quote. No sufficient answer given and a mother day of mobile business is lost. I highly recommend a review of your enquiry/booking system is to be completed. To say the service is lacking is a understatement.
Thankyou Trudy from Moorabbin, she didn't stop searching, even having an older model car. Thankyou also to the mobile service coming to me to replace the window.
Unfortunately the first replacement window cracked whilst installing which necessitated a second trip. Very inconvenient. The installer also left two rubber mountings on top of the roof one of which I lost on the drive home. I was left to find a replacement and presumably install it myself
Excellent customer service, repaired revision mirror quickly, all staff helpful and attentive would recommend to anyone needing any of there product and services they offer.
The whole experience was positive. The receptionist asked the right questions, quoted me the best price out of 3 companies that I contacted, got me an appointment for the next morning and the replacement took less than an hour. John
The floor staff were pleasant and caring. I did research Toyota rear screen problems and it states faulty workmanship as a cause. Given that my windscreen had shattered after using this service only 10 months prior. The management stated that it wasn’t under warranty and was rude and dismissive in his approach to me. He walked away after stating some excuse that the demister was faulty and I had an electrical fault. He also reinforced that he had seen this problem many times and I needed to get my car checked out by an auto electrician. Beware all cars with a demister! - Not! This wasn’t the case as all my electrics were working. He walked away once again when I showed him that the rubber had shrunk under rear window windscreen. I was offended but desperate to get it fixed and had to plead to get the screen taped as they could not fit on the day and needed to make my car roadworthy for my employment. I used this service again for second time. Research: Due to workmanship fault is stated by Toyota Dealership specs - a leading cause to windscreen damage. The glass popped outward rather than inward clearly suggesting that I did not break it; as photos showed. The workshop did not fit and or clean channels properly when before gluing and installing and a build up of pressure eventually popped the rear window in an area where it was vulnerable. A professional opinion stated that temperature change would have contributed to it shattering. I felt undermined and belittled by the management- Not! I had to $$$$Faulk out extra cash when this wasn’t my fault. I wouldn’t be so desperate in the future to go back to them again.
Prompt and courteous service conducted by industry professionals. I’ll be using them to service the rest of my fleet when required.
