I have lived in the area for over 20 years and unfortunately it has taken me this long to find Dr Michael. I find him precise to the point and above all he listens to me. It is the human interaction that makes him stand out from all the rest. He asks questions but doesn't make you feel uncomfortable when answering and is more than obliging to listen to your concerns. Also 5 stars to the receptionist, I think her name was Sally. She knew our names and smiled when we entered the practise, its the little things that make a difference and her welcoming gentle nature as you enter the practise makes such an important difference. Thank you Dr Michael and Sally

Dr Miao has been our family Doctor for 17 years. He had helped us through all manner of family heath issues with kindness, knowledge and compassion.

Receptionist is lovely, kind always remembers us by name. Excellent waiting area, not much waiting time. Doctor was rigours and asked questions regards my condition. I found him and the care excellent. We have visited several times

Michael is great
Especially with babies and young children, happy to see babies before they are issued Medicare cards which was great for us as no one wanted to know my 5 day old baby

The male doctor is not warm and if you want a chat/babble or want to be put at ease with your issues, he is not the one to give it to you, which I learnt quick smart and found that uncomfortable. But he was good at working out what I had, quite methodical about it and my boyfriend liked him. Hmmmm up to you to try it out I guess.

Dr Miow is a great clinician and his support staff are dedicated and competent. His manner is quiet but it is wrong to say he is without people skills. He just doesn't impose his own need for personal recognition above his patient. Engaging a GP is a two way commitment and assessing a fair number of consultations over some years I can vouch that he is a good as the better parts of the reviews below. I think Tucky has it right in one go.

I read the reviews before booking in, and i'm happy to report after my visit that Michael was great and yes may not be the most talkative person I've ever met - i personally don't equate someones ability to chat or listen to downloads of information as caring, I felt cared for and he wasn't wasting his or my time to pretend that something other than a proffessional service was being provided.

The doctor hardly spoke or asked any questions on history or other medical conditions.
Not a good experience at all.
I won't go there again.

Almost cost me my life. Literally.

Went here in July 2013 with such acute abdominal pain, that I could hardly walk, or talk properly. I was curled up with pain. Dr. Miow diagnosed me with "constipation" and sent me home with only Buscopan. Not even pain killers.

5 Hours later I was in hospital fighting for my life, my appendix had actually burst and infected my abdomen so badly by that time, that part of my colon was necrified (killed). I ended up losing a third of my colon.

My wife phoned back the next day, telling them that I am now fighting for my life. The doctor did not even phone back or make any enquiries.

UPDATE: Aug 2015. The doctor sent me a letter, after seeing this review, and seems sincerely apologetic for what happened at the time.

After reading the reviews I decided to make an appointment and see for myself as we just moved to this area. Receptionist was welcoming and friendly. Waiting time was reasonable. Dr Michael was great. He got on with the job after telling him a brief health history of myself. Genuine and listens to your needs. Ample parking at the back. Clinic isn't flashy like the bigger clinics but makes up with alot of charm and character inside. I'll definitely be back.

The Doctor is very professional and to the point. He is not very engaging, but that isn't an essential thing in my books - he was quick and thorough and appeared to be listening to me. I will go back here in future.

I don't go to the doctor for a chat. I expect my doctor to know his stuff and Miaow does. No complaints at all with the doctor. Receptionist are great and polite. But I have to say the psychologists working in the centre have saved my life. Thank you Laura for all you have done.
