Industry Beans reviews
53My friends and I attended the Fitzroy location for breakfast on Sunday. Whilst the food was nice, the service was atrocious. It took about 20 minutes for someone to come and take our coffee orders and we had to flag them down to do so. Once the coffee finally arrived, we again had to flag someone down to take our food orders. When the waiter came to clear the table, we asked if he could come back as we wanted to order another round of coffee. Fifteen minutes went past and no one came back. We then tried to flag another staff member down, who we believe was the manager. She looked us in the eye and then ignored us. We finally got someone’s attention and ordered our coffees. When we were leaving, a staff member told us we could each get $5 off by downloading the app, however the manager then told us we couldn’t split the bill so we were unable to utilize the discounts. Overall an extremely subpar experience. Will not be returning.
Had an underwhelming visit unfortunately. The food was lovely but the service was such a let down. We had to keep trying to get the waiters attention as no one looked at us unless we tried to make direct eye contact.
The waiter made us feel like we were bothering him.
When we were given a $5 voucher to use upon signing up to their app and we were then told we couldn’t use it which was frustrating as we now have received an email confirming we could have used it.
Would have come back to this cafe, but the experience has left a sour memory.
I frequent this place because of their top notch coffee and great atmosphere. For some reason the food don't quite hit the mark for me, or at least the fancy ones. I ordered the Porcini Nest which was a bit dry and lacks sauce, and the chicken which didn't go too well the puré sauce. My mum didn't really like the Barramundi either. But taste is subjective. The presentation is always top quality. Having said all that, I would still come back to have brunch here. But perhaps I would stick with the simpler menu item next time.
Good, high quality coffee beans at an affordable price. Have been ordering beans from here for a couple of years and they’re always great - a good selection that rotates regularly, always roasted well and roasted recently.
Free delivery for orders over $25 and there’s always a coupon code available for at least 10% off. Delivery is always within a couple of days as well, sometimes as soon as a day.
Definitely when in Fitzroy this is my go to cafe. Coffee is good and service is excellent.
Nice place but food has a lot to be said for, flavour were lacking, very basic. Service was good.
The place looks very clean, almost clinical. I prefer an atmosphere with a bit more charm to it. It feels like a franchise. But to each their own. The person giving me a seat was very friendly. The coffee was alright. The bean was not subtle and not special enough to really convince me. The latte art was on point though. Overall an OK experience!
Best coffee and fair price. Been reading the comments and ppl love to say it’s pricey but conveniently forget to mention they order alternative milk or x shots lol
Located in a stylish industrial warehouse in Fitzroy. Had their coffee before but never tried their brunch. Grabbed their signature dishes: Porcini Nest and Chilli Barramundi Folded Eggs.
Porcini Nest was unique-looking but also undeniably delicious. Deep fried enoki nest, Mushroom duxelle, Pickled shimeji mushrooms, and Truffle Oil. Every bite led to captivating umami explosions in my mouth. The runny egg also complemented the nest perfectly.
I was confused at first with Chilli Barramundi Folded Eggs (where the fish at?). But you can clearly taste barramundi in the eggs. Perfectly cooked with pleasant spicy kicks from sambal and crispy chilli oil.

Last time I get coffee from here, $5.30 for a small takeaway which I basically scoffed at (forgot they were over priced I assumed last time was expensive due to a public holiday). Coffee was essentially cold and lacked depth.
Nice industrial vibes inside. It was a shame when we got there we were asked to wait outside in the rain for a table. One small adjustment to a meal was met with "oh I'll have to ask to see if we can do that" it was a removal of one thing that was on top of the meal and not mixed in. Disappointed.
Service was okay. The only redeeming factor was the food. Fast and tasty. The drinks on the other hand came as I was finishing my food. By no standards am I fast eater.
Fine but not good.
Great quality coffee and I like the vibe of the place. I haven't tried the food but it looks great.
I choose their Fitzroy Street coffee latte and Chocolate Brownie, it's served quickly and fresh, their coffee is one of the best that I ever tasted and Brownie was OK but not top of the ladder.
Excellent coffee!
Unique and delicious food.
Excellent coffee!
Wonderful staff.
And did I mention the excellent coffee!?
Coffee Lover’s Cafe
Brunch with family
Located in a quiet area of Fitzroy in Melbourne, in a sort back street. We had to wait for a table at Industry Beans, about 15-20 mins, we had to wait for a table of 4 though.
Industry Beans is all about the beans indeed! A strong but not overpowering smell of coffee lingers in the air, as bags and bags of beans are stacked high at the back of the industrial type cafe.
Menu is very extensive, everyone will be able to find something they like, value for money. It’s fine dining style brunch with beautiful presentation and gourmet style creations.
Truffled Egg Zuchinni ribbons, enoki mushroom, pea pannacotta, artichoke crisps, coffee cornbread crumb, almond cous cous and pesto $23
Ordered Boana PNG coffee online and received Raro Nansebo Ethiopian by accident. They immediately sent me my correct order the next day, and another 0.5Kg arrived today - so no complaints from my end! The Boana is exactly what I was expecting and looking for. A dark roast, perfect for both pour over and espresso, or even kopi tobruk style. The Ethiopian was a bit of a let down, over roasted IMHO, too strong for a pour over and not really hitting the spot for an espresso.
Still 1.5kg of premium single origin, small batch roasted Melbourne coffee for only $27.50, can't be bad After lockdown will have to go and try the food as well.
Cute little place with a real nice vibe. The Wagu beef burger although slightly pricey was pleasantly delicious and filling. Staff also very friendly.
The omelette with sambal garnish is a nice twist of your traditional omelette toast. Coffee and the service was decent too.
Waited 15 min for a $5 take away coffee in a not so busy morning, unfortunately the coffee shot is total burnt and have absolutely no aromas, shame
Great outdoor seating place directly in the sun with great coffee.would recommend to others and would come back next time
