Indian Lounge reviews
50We ordered Chicken and Veg biryani. The chicken one didn’t have enough pieces and veg one didn’t have enough vegetables. 95% rice!
Food is really good! It is quite sweet but very affordable and consistently high quality! The naan here is the best by far and the portions they offer are generous. The service is amazing and everyone who works here are always very nice and polite. Overall its an amazing place that everyone should give a visit to!
I've tried 4 different curries from this restaurant and were all very average. They didn't taste like they were made fresh to order, they reminded me of a supermarket pre-packaged curry. Maybe I've just had much much better indian food in my life and my expectations are too great. Also the roti was a shock to me. Roti is supposed to be light, flaky and crispy this was dark, dense and doughy
We had dinner here tonight and were very impressed. All of the food was so flavoursome, rich and delicious. We started off with spinach roti. Our main courses were goat curry and lamb cutlets which were superb. Plus all for great value.
Absolutely fantastic 10/10. Full of flavour. We'll be coming back here again. Thanks guys
Very disappointing, packet rice, stale papadums, stole bought oily naan and for some reason the jalfrezi had dairy in it which my wife couldn’t eat.
Extremely disappointed with the taste of food that was ordered- Achari chicken and Gulab jamun.
Excellent food! Some of the best Indian I have eaten in some time. Don't dress up though - it's very casual cafe-style eating.
Great restaurant good food and elite service.one of Melbourne's hidden gems.would highly recommend
I also don’t understand the excellent reviews from this place.
We stopped based on them and unfortunately it wasn’t up to our standards.
The food was just far too sweet.
We ordered the Fish Madras and Pumpkin Masala and chicken tikka. The Masala was so sweet we couldn’t finish it. The fish madras was ok, but also sweeter than it should be.
The chicken tikka never came, but we decided we didn’t want it anyway after receiving the other food.
Also the ambience of the restaurant is just NIL. At least out some music or something on, then we can’t hear the kitchen.
We mentioned the issues and were told we never ordered the chicken tikka and that she didn’t read it back. We’re quite sure she did, as this was for our kid.
Anyway, hopefully they can take some of this on board.
Sorry, this is one of those Indian restaurants where Indian don't prefer to dine but others might.
Not authentic!
Great small restaurant. Have dined in a few times. Brought family who raved about it and want to go back. Just amazing food. Good value. We get the banquet. Casual, quiet and laid back. Could not recommend them enough.
Amazing food and outstanding friendly service. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. A real hidden gem. Will definitely be back next time we visit Melbourne.
Delicious! My partner and I went for dinner and we loved it. We had the mango chicken and butter chicken with garlic naan - complimented perfectly with each other. We will definitely be back:) also would recommend the mango lassi - one of the nicest lassi we've ever had
Ordered the butter chicken with saffron rice and garlic naan bread. Absolutely delicious! Onion bhaji might have been better fresh but it arrived a bit soggy. Definitely ordering from here again.
Consistently great food, fast preparation and great prices. Best local Indian restaurant. You gotta try the veg samosas, best I've had.
When they opened the food was fantastic. Look at reviews 2,3 and 4 years ago. Now, although I’m not Indian, I.would be embarrassed to give that food to my dog. No seasoning, no spice and totally amateur cooking. What a disappointment
Takeaway dinner from here 16/4/22. We order 3 mains & large saffron rice. Unfortunately we didn't realise the missing rice until we got home.pretty annoying. We then cooked our rice at home & tried to keep our dinner warm whilst that was happening. The 3 mains we did get, were all spot on. The Lamb Vindaloo was ordered hot.it had the perfect amount of heat/spice and the meat was pretty tender. Would've like a bit more flexibility when it came to vegan options, as my partner is vegan. Other than the minor service issue, I can't really fault this place (& I'm pretty fussy when it comes to this cuisine). Will be back!
We have randomly try the restaurant and order 2 starters and 4 main course
Food was delicious, good quantity and excellent service. I recommended at least try once if you are near Lilydale.
The food was delicious and well cooked, 5 stars for Chicken Tikka Masala and Barra Kebab Masala (lamb cutlets) and maybe 3 stars for the Beef Korma. Tender and lovely flavours with a subtle heat for medium spice. One star off for the decor and experience eating in. Basic, but service wasn't too warm/personal. Portion size was on the smaller side. The naan bread was tasty, but the mango lassi was thick and not as refreshing as other places. Very busy with many people picking up takeaway orders.
