This restaurant was a culinary marvel that I had the pleasure of dining at. The tastes of the chicken curry and butter chicken were simply unmatched, exceeding all expectations. Excellent service and a warm atmosphere enhanced the entire eating experience in addition to the delicious meal. The personnel added a personal touch to the already enjoyable atmosphere by going above and beyond to make sure that the stay was unforgettable. It is a must-visit if you're in Melbourne and in the mood for some real Indian food. It has definitely raised the bar for my eating experiences in the city, and I can't wait to go back for more of the chef's delectable creations.

We love getting take away from here! Their butter chicken is delicious, not spicy for us folk that like it simple and tasty. Also very affordable.

I don't mind this place, but the curry's always watery, & the dishes are starkly simple (ie: the Rogan Josh is meat & sauce, not a single vegetable.) Decent though, just a bit bland.

This is by far our favourite Indian restaurant in Melbourne. We keep returning despite moving away from the area. The curries are so authentic - nothing else compares.

Very good Indian restaurant! Always fresh and quality ingredients used. Good size servings, reasonably priced and delicious tasting food to get your mouth buds watering. Owners and staff are particularly friendly and always accommodating. No hestitation in recommending India house!

Amazing! For a restaurant that I have walked past so many times and there is never anyone in it, I was very surprised when I ordered takeaway from here. Everything was delicious and it was probably the best Indian food I have had in a very long time. Will definitely be ordering here on the regular moving forward!

Have been to the restaurant a couple of times. Great tasty food and reasonably priced. Will take utmost care to check if you are happy with the food, they also give some extras like papad to start off, which is a good touch. Very neat and presentable ambience. Loved the experience!

Food was pretty good as all other review say after reading and tried their food first time as takeaway.

However the man served me picking up the food wasn't that friendly, no greeting no smoking that surprised me as normally customer service in indian restauran are nice. Probably because wearing masks? Oh just also wished them filled fully the pickles.was just about half of it only (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥｀)

I have been to India House Restaurant a few times with my husband and we absolutely love it! Delicious Indian food and reasonably priced.

Family business - we were served by the mother and the son who were both very welcoming and lovely. We also get takeaway sometimes which is great. Highly recommended.

Beautiful lamb biryani. Fragrant, perfectly spiced with fresh coriander dressed on top. You won’t be disappointed with take away. Classic old school Indian restaurant vibe - makes it better in my opinion. Decently priced.

Food is at the upper end of Indian restaurants, service a bit below average, restaurant seems a bit dated. Has been here for probably over 30 years under the same owner. Worth getting delivery. Quality is good.

Curry was okay, a bit watery. Rice was very watery - is it that hard to serve fully cooked, drained rice? Fine for white people who don't know what the authentic flavours taste like. Furthermore, the owner was condescending and rude. Would NOT recommend. Spend your money elsewhere.

First time ordering from here and it was delicious and reasonably priced! Will definitely make this our regular takeaway from now on!
