In The Valley

Our group of nearly 30 friends stayed at In the Valley over a weekend, and it couldn't have been more perfect from start to finish. The 5 star experience began from the day of booking. Suzanne the owner called me immediately.
Our group are all younger couples and singles with no kids but there was no discrimination or assumptions just transparent communication around risk profiles. Communication was exceptional from that call through to arrival. Once we arrived at the venue.wow. Honestly the photography online does not do the venue justice. It is nothing short of your own secret garden in the heart of the Yarra Valley. Not that we wanted to leave to go anywhere else! The amenities, security, and standard of the many bedrooms, chalets, and other facilities like pool and rumpus room could not be faulted. We already have friends asking when we will stay here or at other properties managed by this company next. Could not recommend more highly whether you are a friend group, wedding reception, or group of families looking for time away. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

Phenomenal location perfect for a large group, the pictures do not do it justice both the building are garden are absolutely huge, pool is refreshing, bird life is amazing, highly recommend

I hosted a weekend retreat here that ticked all the boxes for our guests. The accommodation was the perfect setting and offered spaces for people to gather, while also having beautiful spots for meditation as well. Suzanne was very responsive and amenable to all of our questions and requests.

Fantastic stay at In the Valley, weekend away with friends was perfectly accommodated by the spaces available, and the plethora of sleeping arrangements and communal areas made organisation really easy and comfortable. The facilities are very well maintained and offer a high standard of comfort: temperature controlled rooms, hot showers, plenty of cookware, big pool, spas, and other features made it so easy to stay here. Beautiful landscapes and gardens provided a relaxing atmosphere and were a treat to behold each day.

Venue is wonderful, furnishings are cute, garden is beautiful, rooms are lovely, spas are delightful.

Many great things going on at this venue

We had 4 amazing days here for a combined 60 40 birthday with family. The house was beyond perfection and with so many different areas to dine we felt like we were going to a different venue every night. We had plans to eat out on one of the days but did not want to leave. The pool was lovely and we could sit in a shady area to watch the kids. The gardens were beautiful and we felt like we were at a resort. Highly recommend!

The house, chalets, pool and gardens were immaculate. This property is just so fantastic for a large group. We stayed with 14 of us over new years for 4 nights and we felt absolutely no need to leave the property although we did visit Yarrawood for lunch one day. We spent most of our time in the pool, and in the bbq area and the wonderful bar area at night where we played pool and other games. The grounds are fantastic so plenty of room to play bocce, finska or just enjoy the shady surrounds. I would highly recommend this property.

Stayed here for my wedding and it was absolutely perfect. The rooms and gardens made perfect photos. We were greeted when we arrived and given a great tour and felt very welcome. Great accommodation for large groups. Highly recommend and would stay again!

Really just want to warn anyone considering booking In the Valley of their cancellation policy, which states: "we do not cover for extenuating circumstances such as natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions on home gatherings, acts of god, force majeure events or other circumstances that may force you to cancel your accommodation". This means even if government restrictions state that you can't attend your booked dates, they can still charge you. I naïvely thought this was not legal and missed it buried in the Ts&Cs.

One week before my scheduled stay, state Covid accommodation restrictions allowed 4 people to stay together (one household plus 2 - in our case, this meant a maximum of 4). I contacted In the Valley to look the option of rescheduling and was referred to the cancellation policy. "Out of good faith", I was offered a refund of $1200 for a cancellation or a credit of $2000 to reschedule, which would still leave me $3500-$4300 out of pocket. I know a lot of businesses are really struggling during Covid, but this is the only business I have come across that doesn't have some kind of Covid cancellation policy.

In an amazing stroke of luck, the day before our stay the restrictions were changed so our group was allowed to attend with almost no obtrusion and we had a great time, but you may not be this lucky.

The rooms were pleasant and the surroundings were beautiful, but I cannot recommend this accommodation with the current cancelation policy. Beware before you book.

Lovely gardens, fabulous location to wineries, easy drive from the peninsula, tranquil setting great for a group or a couple to get away!

Our stay at In The Valley was exceptional with fabulous king beds, the best linen & wonderful decor. Each room has it's own ensuite & a terrific communal kitchen & living area with the comfiest couch & great TV. The gardens are beautiful to walk around with many different areas to sit down & enjoy the birdlife & greenery. I love that the accommodation is able to accommodate so many where we can all be together but also be separate. I highly reccommend this accommodation.

Stayed here with a group on a work retreat and loved the bucolic scenery, glorious period architecture and overall sense of calm. Wood-panelled bedrooms with picture windows and crisp linen, and particularly spectacular in autumn. It was a fantastic midweek escape within a coo-ee of the CBD. Recommend.
