IL Duca Restaurant reviews
19We attended this lovely venue last Thursday for a surprise 80th birthday lunch, for Pam, hosted by her thoughtful brother, Uncle Dennis. Food, presentation, service was fantastic, the young waiter who looked after our table sang a beautiful Italian opera tune for the birthday girl Grazie mille!
Beautiful authentic Italian food.
Went here for a business lunch and was really impressed with the quality of the food. Lasagna and Risotto were both perfectly cooked.
Service was excellent too.
Recommended.
Il Duca is the best restaurant we have been to for a long, long time. The food is exquisite - making menu choice difficult. Same as last time because it was so good, or try something different that will be equally as good?
Absolutely fantastic food, service and atmosphere highly recommended large party where everyone cleaned their plates
Came here for dinner before heading to Rod Laver Arena for a concert. Ordered Porterhouse steak which was cooked to perfection. Waiter was very friendly and provided prompt service even though it was very busy. Clientele was predominately footy supporters, seems to be a popular option for a good meal before the game at the MCG.
What a shame the food wasn’t as good as the service.
I know inflation is bad at the moment, but for the price we paid, I expected a lot more. Particularly for an Italian restaurant in Melbourne. The servings were small as was the flavour and presentation. The garlic bread we got was worse than what you’d expect if you bought a frozen packet at Woolworths and heated it up in an air fryer. Maybe that’s what they did. In fact the lasagna may have been store bought too.
Would not recommend and would not go back unless the quality and quantity changed a lot.
High quality Italian restaurant. Dishes are high quality. They specialise in pasta dishes.
Very good food and service. First went here in late '80's, and still delivering an excellent experience.
This is only based on take away experience: pizza was okay, good for a neighbourhood place, desert was nice though.
What a great evening. Traditional Ialian music, good food an company.
Expensive wine and too long to wait for the food so the drink bill was high.
No bread on the table to start with which is basic Italian hospitality.
We asked for some bread for the meatball gravy and it was soft white and stale.
Paying the bill was a bun-fight and could be much better organised.
Overall a great night spoiled by some basic issues.
Absolutely amazing place! The staff are super friendly, accomodating and understanding! We had a group of 10 that were running an hour late because of trafffic, they still held our place and were still really nice and served us well!
The food is brilliant! Such delicious and authentic Itallian food! The gnochi is my personal favourite, super soft and tasteful!
Thank you Il Duca and your lovely staff for always giving us a wonderful night at your restaurant.
Definitely a place that is worth trying!
Food and service were both fantastic we had the separate dining room as it was a work-function. Highly recommend staff were very friendly easygoing food selection was great and everything came out at the same time to perfection. Word of warning parking is limited outside and is timeed for 1 hour on the side streets. Had to go and move my car halfway through the meal to avoid a ticket
10th time coming to this restaurant, each and every time it’s amazing. High quality meals, exceptional customer service! Will continue to return to IL Duca
We’d heard many wonderful reviews about this establishment, so we’re incredibly eager to try it for ourselves.
It is clear that it’s a local favourite, as the wait staff knew many customers names and even gave particular recommendations based on peoples previous orders.
The service was exemplary, as the staff were warm and friendly. We were situated by the window, which made our evening even more special.
The food was divine and we appreciated the wine pairing.
We very much look forward to continuing to dine at this well loved Melbourne institution.
I’ve been going there regularly for 30 years. I think that says it all. Food never disappoints, staff are like family & ambiance is wonderful.
Food was excellent and so was the service. We have eaten at a lot of italian restaurants all around the country and this place is very good, I highly recommend it.
What a great night, food fantastic, staff brilliant, atmosphere is wonderfully warm and inviting, listening to the songs of Carol King by sung by Raleigh Williams. Great night, highly recommend.
This is a really great restaurant. The food is consistently at a high standard, the service is great and the owners are fabulous people who make you feel welcome every time.
Cozy and clean place, friendly staff with caring, delicious meal. We ordered a sweet potato soup, veg risotto and pene with slow cooked lamb
