IGA Castlemaine reviews
29Overpriced. The food products would be unaffordable for many residents, students and the aged.
Incorrectly marked prices put a dampener on things but perhaps a customer fiddled with the tags.
Usually the service is fine.
Fairly typical Aldi store with the usual range of Aldi goods. Checkout exit is reasonable.
Small IGA easy to get things you want instead of going to a big IGA one thing a little bit disappointing is not many car parks at the front
The staff are the true gold of this supermarket. I love that they genuinely ask how your day was and have a chat. The care they show to older customers is so impressive. Great range of products for a small store. Always quick and easy to get in, find what you need and get out the door:)
I thought it was great how they were training the young staff. Gives them life skills. Handy place to get a few things.
It's always a pleasure to shop here for me personally I find the products that I need as they are where you expect to find them as this super market has continued to operate 'if it's working well enough all that is needed is good ongoing maintenance '.
Being a smaller supermarket is part of its appeal to me personally also, staff get to know you are always friendly and usually quick to respond to the build up of customers lining up to checkout in my experiences anyway.
Produce is usually of above average quality and affordable, deli has a good array of quality cuts with Hot food which is convenient at time's. I would not hesitate to advise it as a good place to shop.
IGA is the best.during even prior to our 1st Covid lockdown this store kept it's ducks in a row. Inflation yes but not making money off a difficult situation.
Prices remained as was so Big hands to everyone at IGA who treated us equally. 5c doesn't seem like much though it all adds up. The staff, owners you make sure we're all set up!
There is 2 IGA's in Castlemaine & both as a combination has the town totally covered When I visit the area gold prospecting & camping! I shop at both
Easy to find stuff. Not filled with things you don't need. Has most things you do. Great prices
My missus asked for a pouch of Riverstone, we walked out of the IGA and went to have a smoke, now only realizing that we'd been sold the wrong Tobacco. My missus walked back in to try and exchange the Tobacco for what we actually asked for, where an iga empoyee abruptly said that 'We don' t offer exchanges. ' What we were sold was Champion Ruby which is way more expensive than Riverstone putting us out of pocket. It was a very unprofessional experience, especially in a regional community where people are mean't to help each other, not rip them off. It was a very negative experience and we will be boycotting this store indefenitily because of their rudeness and unprofessional conduct.
Got the goods l wanted, fair price, parking could be upgraded enjoyed the shopping experience!
Castlemaine's smaller IGA. It's got most of what is available in the larger supermarkets. Great for people who don't like crowds. Excellent service and has a bottle shop in a separate building beside. Ample off the street parking. It's a gem if you don't want to spend much time shopping.
Staff always efficient and courteous, definitely a " friendly grocer" and always a pleasure to shop there weekly.
Good stock and specials but it takes so long to check out that I make my visits as seldom as possible.
Awesome lil supermarket, opens at 07: 00, friendly staff, great range and good prices, try them out, better than supporting the big retail chains
Standed supermarket.bottle shot had moo brew sold to me as beer.this is not.is gin and tonic bast yuk.
Prices are definitely on the higher side but the range is awesome. They have a huge selection of interesting cheeses that you can't get anywhere else. They have lots of artisan/ locally made products available. Cool place to check out for some quirky foods, good for every day groceries as well.
Also known locally as IGB. Prefer shopping here as it's easier and quicker to get in and out, they also have a great range.
