I-MED Radiology Network reviews
26 I would like to express my disappointment with the customer service from the reception staff at this clinic.
An hour before their appointment, my parents received two missed calls from reception/image operator to ask if they can come earlier. We complied and came earlier, only for the receptionist to say that we're very early to the appointment. Why is there no communication between the staff about asking us to come early? Was this because the staff wanted to clock off earlier on the Friday? This is already quite unprofessional coming from a health service clinic.
My parents are pensioners and English is not the best however my father is able to get by well. While my parents were filling in the form and communicating each other in their native language, the reception made this insulting remark "we only speak English here". This is incredibly upsetting and really hurts hearing this from my parents as they were too afraid to speak up. They just wanted to get a scan done for my mother as she's currently having joint problems.
After hearing this and upon discussing with other family and friends that they have also received such rude and disgusting service from this clinic. I sincerely hope that leadership reads this review and really look into their frontline staffs behaviour because this is incredibly unsatisfactory. Patients should never be asked to come in 'earlier' just to meet the staffs needs and should never be treated with racism. I will never recommend this clinic to anyone.
Charged us over $120 for an xray while xray is always bulk billed in any other radiology places. Receptionist very rude too. Very poor experience. Won't return here with so many other radiology places nearby.
I highly recommend this place. I had an MRI, mammogram and ultrasound and they were incredibly kind, caring and compassionate. I felt totally supported by all staff.
All staff were so nice and helpful and friendly. On time appointment, easy to find, many parking spots.
Unacceptable services. I received a message from them 20 minutes before my appointment saying that the doctor was sick and we had to cancel. That’s an excuse because tomorrow is public holidays and they wanted to have a long weekend.
Required MRI pictures. They gave me with CD which is hard to find CD rom on PC thesedays. Went to officeworks to move the files to usb and spent 1h for that.
Need to be smart.
Very unprofessional. The recipient gives us wrong information by claiming they are fully private and does not provide MBS covered by Medicare. Later on we contacted another branch of the same company and they advised they are the same company and they do accept Medicare.
Terrible service at the Clayton office. The person who did the MRI seems unfamiliar with process. The person who she receives instruction seems extremely busy. The MRI should’ve done with contrast agent but didn’t on the 1st go. Got the call on 2nd day to went back and this time with contrast injected. However the report was sent to the specialist using the 1st time report. The specialist said MRI not clear enough. Spent >$500 dollars and all those trouble with a vague result is unacceptable.
Such a poor service by the manager. I went there for an emergency ultrasound during pregnancy no empathy was shown and instead the manager was rude and returned my referral back to me saying you can go to capital radiology in a very rude way. The least you can do is act HUMAN. I understand if no appointments are available or you dont want to help but at least show some humanity. Will not be coming back to Clayton I- Med for sure.
This place does not pick up the phone call sometimes! On hold for 30 mins and gave up. How ridiculous
I went in for a ultrasound and the lady at the front was lovely. The Sonographer was amazing she was professional and what a lovely lady! Thankyou for making me feel comfortable.
Appointment was for scan and x-ray. Requested a female radiologist for both. I was ok when my appointment got rescheduled twice. I get there to find a very rude receptionist when I reminded her about my preference.
For my scan it was ok. But the x-ray there was a man and a woman inspite of me requesting female. Added to that for some bizarre reason the man kept pushing me in the pretext of getting the right position while the lady stood nearby watching. It was very awkward and unpleasant. I won't be recommending anyone to this location as they clearly don't care what your preference is which stemmed from a previous unpleasant experience at this location. Staff need basic training in customer service.
I was *very* impressed with the service. As soon as my GP made a referral, I received a text from I-MED to book the appointment. Two days later, I still hadn't had a chance to phone them one so a representative of I-MED phoned me to book an appointment for me! I was very grateful that they went to such an effort.
My appointment was scheduled for 14: 30 & by 14: 40 I was back in my car! Fast, effecient service.
The parking took a couple of minutes to find. There's parking near the centre but it was full when I arrived. I went around the block & found free 1hr parking.
I had a potential fracture so there was a level of urgency, I called them 2 hours before they closed the day before a public holiday. They were so kind and understanding of the situation got me a spot right away and even offered for me to use a wheelchair. They did the scans right away and had a dr view them there so I knew whether or not I needed to go to the hospital or just back to my doctor.
I would like to share my Mum’s experience. I took her for a core needle biopsy of her breast. She is 84 years old and having previously had breast cancer, she was very concerned and feeling very vulnerable.
From the moment we arrived, Mum experienced the utmost of care and compassion. Narelle was so very thoughtful, personally bringing my Mum a cup of tea & biscuits as we had come a long way for the appointment. Narelle’s professionalism was terrific & put Mum totally at ease. The procedure itself went very smoothly and Mum could not be more grateful to Marta, Lisa & Min for their care, they were outstanding.
Five stars plus to a wonderful team, including the lovely ladies on reception, you should all be very proud of yourselves & I cannot thank you all enough for making my Mum’s procedure as painless as possible.
AVOID THIS RADIOLOGY CLINIC AT ALL COST.
My partner and my son needed xrays taken, but their experience was appalling to say the very least, and I cannot in good conscience recommend my worst enemies to attend this poor excuse of a healthcare service.
Was told that they "cannot provide films for a follow-up scan" (seriously?), and they got extremely angry and high-tempered towards my partner. When insisted, they begrudgingly offered my son's xrays, but not my partner's. But wait! Did they give the films to my partner who was waiting for them in the waiting room for 15mins? (3 xrays on 1 film, takes 2 minutes for them to print out, trust me I know) No! The radiographer walks straight past my partner, and handballs it to the receptionist who files it away, knowing full well that my partner was right there waiting for them. Only after asking them if they were ready that they brought the films out from the reception desk, NOT the radiology viewing room (where the films come out). Disgusting behaviour from the radiographer and receptionist alike, treats patients like dirt and thinks they are above them. Not the attitude and service expected of a big radiology company like I-MED.
Will definitely NOT be attending this clinic again, even if our lives depended on it.
Books "ALL" appointments at the same time then staff complain about overcrowded waiting room due to covid
Yesterday- Thursday 27th Aug, 9.15am: was directed by two different Monash Specialist Centre Clayton staff that MIA Radiology does X-Rays, after my mother showed them my referral form.
Upon reaching the MIA Radiology Receptionist, my mother handed her my MIA Radiology referral- as written up by my specialist from the same building, just a few minutes prior.
Was immediately told by the MIA Radiology Receptionist "we don't do that here. The reason we do not do [X-Rays] here is because there is a little bit of preparation involved. "
I find this attitude and response from the MIA Radiology Receptionist to be ironic, manipulative and highly dishonest:
(1) Since other staff in the building had told me that MIA Radiology do provide X-Rays
(2) This is a Radiology clinic, inside of Monash 'Specialist' Centre
(3) The website clearly states they provide "General X-Rays" and
"For a plain x-ray there are no specific preparation instructions. "
Suprised, disgusted, extremely disappointed and confronted with how DISHONEST, MANIPULATIVE and UNCARING this particular MIA Radiology Receptionist could be.
I was appalled when I saw the receptionist - CHRISTINE's behavior towards non-english speaking, elderly patient aggressive, non compassionate and border line discrimination.
1 Yelling at the patient, saying "ID" 5 times, each time voice higher than before when you know they don't speak English will not make them understand anymore than the time before.
It just comes across as demeaning and degrading and make the patient more anxious.
2 Don't tell another staff member and in front of the patient "non English speaking patients shouldn't come her" is UNACCEPTABLE, it is called discrimination and is ILLEGAL.
3 Tell the non English speaking patient to turn the phone on SPEAKER mode when the phone is in your hand and you know she can't understand you does not help.
I understand it can be hard when dealing with patient who doesn't speak English, but this is a multicultural country and when patients are older, they do find it harder to adjust.
Christine, your behavior, display of dismay and lack of empathy and respect is disgraceful and you are lucky they don't speak English either or they can sue you for the comment you made.
IMED your sign display COMPASSION, this receptionist has none.
On the brighter side, all the other staff and receptionists are very helpful.
We selected Clayton I-MED Radiology for my wife to have a biopsy, but because we didn't have health insurance, l asked for the costs over the phone before hand. We were given a price and we went with that.after it was done, bill paid. A week later we another bill from Melbourne Pathology.i spoke to Clayton I-MED Pathology as to why we were not told about it.we were told you only find out about after its all done.this place does not tell you about hidden costs- BEWARE!
