I Love Dumplings - Richmond reviews
19Not a great amount of flavour. I had oil dripping from my mouth after biting into the prawn toast. It was revolting. Fried rice was as bland as it looked and very stodgy. Chicken was overcooked and tough. Pan fried dumplings were just steamed and probably in a hot wok for about 5 seconds. Not enjoyable. The venue is in dire need of some acoustic softening.
BEST CHINESE IN VICTORIA
Omg I love this place. I used to come here all the time when I lived in Richmond and 5 years later it still holds up.
The Panfried Pork Dumplings with the szechuan sauce is a MUST and the Chicken Luksa is to die for.
Do not skip his place on your way along Bridge Road.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at I Love Dumplings, and I was not disappointed! The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was chill and relaxed, and the service was fast and efficient.
I started with the pan fried pork and chive dumplings, which were perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. The pork was juicy and tender, and the chives added a nice freshness to the dish.
In addition to the dumplings, I also ordered a few other dishes to share with my friends. We had the stir-fried green beans with garlic, which were perfectly cooked and seasond.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal at a reasonable price.

Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience at I Love Dumplings. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal at a reasonable price.
This place is absolutely amazing
Would definitely recommend the pan fried pork dumplings and and the steamed Shanghai dumplings
The food was awful. We had prawn spring rolls, BBQ pork bao, chicken andprawn dumplings, and pork dumplings. It was all awful. Clearly, all frozen food and even the tea was bad. How do you make tea badly?
Service was slow, and the place was REALLY loud. Even my loud Chinese partner thought this place was bad, and that really says something!
How anyone can eat here and enjoy it, it beyond me. I have never eaten in a worse restaurant.
This place does not even deserve the 1 star it was awarded.
Great spot for a casual dinner, especially for group dining. The food is cheap and comes out quickly. Sometimes the quality varies, but would still recommend!
The food is normally good, but 5 out of 10 times there will be something wrong with your delivery order. Missing items normally.
I can’t fault this place. Same great food and service for the past 10 years! I no longer live in Melbourne however I make an effort to visit every time I return
Terrible customer service. We came in and no one greeted us or brought us menus or took our order (there were 3 other people seated at the time). On top of that once we did order there were people ordering takeaway who got their food well before us despite the fact we ordered before them. And when the food eventually arrived the quality was not very good. And to make matters worse there was MOLD on the bottle lid. Overall do not recommend dining in as nobody seems to really care about anything apart from delivering their takeaway orders on time.
I used to love dining here, dumplings and other dishes were great - good quality and good portions. Not sure if there was a change in management but now the food is extremely low quality. Prawn wontons were tiny, looked and tasted like they were from a frozen mixed pack of Asian sides you buy from Coles. The texture and taste of honey chicken was similar, if not, worse than McDonalds nuggets. Really disappointing.
No waiting in lines, food is nice (slightly off with the flavour and overcooked dumplings) but for the price, you can't complain. BYO wine as well. Caution - slippery floors
Good dumplings but often too busy for its own good. The last time I went there to get take away they simply forgot about me and when it finally got the food it was cold.
Food was average, customer service was good. We got sent upstairs to eat and was incredibly hot, but when we asked to turn the aircon on they did so.
BEST DUMPLINGS IN RICHMOND! Wide selection. The restaurant itself is nothing special.but the food is very enjoyable! 10/10 will be returning!
Home delivery on a Friday night. Prompt. Fresh and hot food. Deep fried wontons weren't pleasant. Sweet & sour dish was tasty, more than half of it was rice, and nothing I can't make at home. Apple spring rolls were nice. If I go here post-covid I'd try the dumplings with the good reviews on here.
We booked online 2 weeks in advance, once we got there they had said they’d cancelled all online bookings but we never received a phone call (thanks covid!). Fortunately they could fit us in! Friendly service, yummy food. We had Chinese broccoli, pork buns, and steamed and fried dumplings. Will return and would recommend
I thought I knew the quality of your dumplings as I had them hundred of times before until tonight. Ordered the same usual and it was sent this, probably, overnight reheated dumplings! Will not get them from you again!
So I ordered through doordash. Waited the normal 30 mins. Chicken and prawn dumplings were not warm and crispy as usual, but soft rubber-like with this old brownish colour.
Comfortably the worst vegetarian dumplings I’ve eaten in Melbourne. The
dough to filling ratio was too dough heavy. The Chinese broccoli was good.
Decent speed of service via door dash. Good prices. Spring onion pancakes were very good standout.
However, maybe just a little quick to prepare and get the food out for the rest of it. We felt that the pan fried dumplings were not fried for long enough and were essentially the same shape and texture of the steamed dumplings apart from a very slight searing on one side. So maybe less of a rush would see them.more 'fried'. Or get a different shape and variation altogether. Other dumpling places have seen, where the fried and steamed are very different in shape and cooking method. Spring rolls were fairly average also.
