I had a work Christmas dinner here and there were 20 of us provided with a menu that had enough options on it that we could choose from. Our meals were really tasty and presented beautifully. The staff were very attentive and helpful.

One of the best dining experiences we have had while celebrating our Wedding Anniversary. The set menu gave us plenty to choose from, the food absolutely delicious and the servers were attentive and friendly.

Ordered an eye fillet medium with salad, received a rib eye with chips so ask the male waiter did you say rib eye as I ordered an eye fillet and he said yes then walked away! He came back with other meals so I said again I ordered an eye fillet not a rib eye, he took my meal no apology and brought a eye fillet back. I cut into it and it was so over cooked I had a bite and it was chewy. I then asked the female waiter does this look like medium to you as I ordered a medium eye fillet, she replied no and apologised and took it straight back. I then received my 3rd attempt of enjoying a steak only to receive it Blue, the female waiter couldn’t believe it and offered me a free drink and said she’d take it back and get another but by this time the table had finished so I went without. Very disappointing for a Steak House! Also ordered a bottle of red wine 2021 stated in menu but received a red wine 2022 when questioned on year we were told we’ve run out of that year, same price!

2nd visit here, Had the rib eye and beef ribs here today so delicious! Salad was also yummy

I enjoyed an eye of rump for my main meal and an apple tart for dessert. Everything was lovely and the staff were very professional and attentive.

We book for a dinner with friends so when we arrive and sat down by the wait staff we were told that we have only an hour to eat … it kind of ruin the night for all of us … bad service for the price you pay for the meal…

Amazing! The skewers and sides were delicious. Great drinks menu and the staff were friendly and fun! Siama was our fabulous server, her recommendations were spot-on and she took time to chat.and even offered to take our photo! Thanks, we'll be back.

Went here for my husband’s birthday. We had expectations of a great steak. We ordered a 400g rump, pork belly, pork ribs and seasonal veggies.
The ribs and pork belly were cooked well and tasted great. Unfortunately the seasonal greens were cold and the rump cooked rare came out cold on a cold plate. When we notified the waiter he came back asking if we wanted a fresh steak or if we wanted it reheated. This rang alarm bells. Of course we wanted a fresh one. That one came out at room temp on a cold plate. We have never experienced being served a cold to room temp steak before and yet again being asked if we wanted it reheated. We also had a good view of the kitchen and watched one of the chefs rearrange the chips on a plate with his bare hands then eat a chip then place his hands on the chopping board at the pass. This has turned us off going back!
Our waiter was awesome though.

Could not rave on about this place anymore. Went for the first time with my partner on Saturday night, prior to going we had heard good things but the staff and food exceeded our expectations. Customer service as soon as we got there was 10/10. Our waiter for the night (Jordan I believe his name was) was exceptional. Very attentive to our tables and was just a great chat. The other staff members were great too. Food was fantastic as well and portions are generous. Lamb pie is so juicy and flavoursome and my partners New Yorker black Angus was “too many words to describe it”. Sometimes it’s hard to find good customer service, but this place has nailed it 10/10. Will definitely be back.

Excellent. Such a pleasure to eat well seasoned food - not just the bland salt n pepper stuff. Don’t get me wrong, you can still have a very mildly seasoned steak if you like the untainted meaty taste. But, if you’re like us and prefer generous flavour - this place is a pure treat!

Have visited thrice now and each time never disappoints, we’ve always been too full for dessert as we’re so stuffed after starters and mains (generous portions!). But this time we had dessert too (brownie s’more with PB ice-cream?) - it was just as delicious and crafted.

Honestly I hope nothing ever changes because this place does everything right: good food, drinks and service It might be pricey but it is worth every penny. What more could you ask for?

If you’re unsure of spending as much with dinner, try their weekday lunch deal and enjoy a 2 or 3 course for under $50 a person.

Dined for dinner. We shared the crispy prawn tacos for entree, I had the double lamb chop & hubby had an eye fillet steak for main & I also enjoyed a margarita cocktail. All the food was well presented & tasty but expensive. You pay top dollar to eat here so good for a once in a while visit. I also had a $50 discount from my TheFork points so that was handy. Our waiter Raveen provided great service, he was attentive, friendly & knowledgeable.

1st time going there. I had the lamb pie, delicious, but found it to be a little dry. The service from Gabriella was 1st class.

Very busy on a Wednesday night. Great atmosphere. Very friendly service though a little slow. We tried the Hunters Feast and enjoyed it, especially the ribs. Angus burger was also good. The chips were awesome. They have a deal on weeknights for two including the cheese dip starter, Hunters Feast, dessert to share and two glasses of house wine or beer for $145 which we thought was pretty good value.

Good service, large portions. Nice ambience. Salad was fresh and tasty! Everything coming out the kitchen looked delicious.

Ordered striploin skewer and Portuguese chicken. Meats, fries, salad were well seasoned and delicious. Will be back

Located at Eastland Shopping Centre in Ringwood Square, Ringwood, Hunter & Barrel is a nice restaurant and a good place for taking the family. We enjoyed a couple of mains and a drink each. The dishes we ordered were the Lamb Pie and the 350g Rib Eye with salad. For drinks we had the Dark Ages cocktail and a Furphy beer. The Lamb pie was really nice, great flavours and warming for a cosy night. The Rib Eye was cooked perfectly to how we asked for it. A great combination with the salad. We also had a side of chips to share. Great with the mains! We decided to share a dessert and we weren’t disappointed with doing that. We choose the Chocolate Smore and it was the best. The presentation was different to how we have normally seen a Chocolate brownie dessert. Loved the smore/marshmallow on top and the scoop of Dulce de leche & peanut butter ice-cream.
The seating of the venue was good and it had a warm atmosphere. We didn’t have to wait too long with our order and the food came out nice and hot. The staff were happy and friendly. It was nice to see the staff being up for a having a little chat about how you are and what you had been up to for the day. Would visit again.

Great place to have steak!
All steaks we ordered (rump, newyorker) were full of flavours and cooked just as requested. Far better taste than MPD. Great ambience and very friendly staff, speedy service. All in all, great place to go and spend some time with family and friends if you are into steaks.
They also serve platters and skewers and one of their specialities is the south african boerawoers. Cocktails/mocktails are standard stuff.
Will visit again!
