Friendly and fast service.
Food, in all honesty, is good but not great.
There are plenty of eateries in the area but Honky Dory is a good pick if you can’t decide.

Not bad but not good enough, replied too much on salt for flavour and I found it a bit overwhelming. I can add salt, but I can’t take it away. Also the beer choices were rubbish.

It's been 50 minutes since we ordered our food, drinks got warm. Service is too slow. Apperantly the workers are mostly focused on uber orders. Not the people in restaurant. Hey boss get more stuff in this place

My wife and I have just received an order from here and oh golly.the chips, fish and potato cake have been cooked for so long they are a very brown burnt colour and rock hard. When you break them in half they SNAP - they have been cooked for so long the potato is actually missing from the chips, the white fluffy stuff is gone.the potato cakes were a dark burnt brown on one side and on the other side a lovely golden colour (they way it should be). I'm so confused by how bad it was as we have had good food from here before. The only saving grace is that when my wife drove back to complain and hand the food back, the person in the shop took responsibility and made the food again. I was absolutely going to give one star but given the response from staff it gets 2.

Had to wait an hour and 10 mins for my food whilst I watched others come in, order and get it 25 mins later. My food sat on the counter for 10 minutes until someone called it to me. Was cold and WAY over cooked by the time we ate it - had to through most of it out. Disappointing… seems like the priority is just the Uber eat drivers and not the people coming in and supporting the business directly.

This is the best fish and chip shop in Richmond!
Good amount of dining tables inside, which are usually full. Nice place also for outdoor casual street dining. Highly recommended

Don't waste your calories. Try their daily special that is not found in the menu. You will be reward with surprise.

Hunky Dory Richmond has a great location with good seating options inside and outside in the sun overlooking a vibrant Swan Street. Service here is friendly although not overly attentive or quick. Food menu has all the normal Hunky Dory options which caters for everyone. Food here didn't seem that fresh or high quality and was served Luke warm which is disappointing. I've experienced Hunky Dory at other locations and this was not near the standard of others. It's ok, but there are much better options close by.

The place was cool, the food was pretty damn good and the staff were very nice!

Also, the restaurant was pretty clean and tidy

Had a fantastic dinner of salt & pepper calamari with greek salad, generous serving too.

The Fish And Chips, The Old School Fried Flake Pack (AUD $14) is a filling set meal, an above average rendition that I would order again.

It's served with thick-cut potato chips, crisp outside and fluffy inside with bold starchy salty savoury flavour. There's fresh crunchy lettuce with nice vegetal sweet flavour.

The star is the fresh fillet of flake fish, which is a lean white flesh fish. It's coated in a thin crisp batter, with a tender moist flaky texture, and a meaty salty sweet savoury flavour. Addictive.

The Grilled Fish, Grilled Flake Pack (AUD $18.50) is a healthy set meal.

There's a fresh garden salad (with cucumbers, tomatoes, baby spinach, chard, arugula / rocket leaves) that's crisp and juicy and crunchy, with bright vegetal sweet earthy bitter herbal flavour.

Here the fresh fillet of flake fish is lightly seasoned with salt and paprika, and has a tender moist flaky texture with meaty salty sweet spice flavour. An enticing meal that feels wholesome.

Not worth the hour wait on a weekday for catastrophically mediocre and overpriced f&c.

I was personally a bit disappointed by this place. Thought it was quite average and not a big fan of the chips

Hey Google, how can we give MORE THAN 5 STARS? This food place got my life and health back. So many great choices to choose from. Specially, the grilled pack they serve proves that size does matter!

Special thanks to Krish who is a fantastic manager and chef, Arjun who knows how to cook great food and Marvi who can't stop making sure that everything is right and her customer service to another level. The entire crew is so caring and and makes one feel athome. Guys, honesty, it is one of the best places with such great food and not expensive at all. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

Fast and nicely packed, friendly staff and the healthy options are delicious. A family favourite.

Food hit the spot, service at lunch time on Monday 18 July was excellent - the waitress recommended we get small chips rather than medium and she was right.

Ordered a take away grilled flake pack and not sure what fish it was but definitely wasn’t a flake.expensive chip pack

This place is really good. You can have seafood or whatever you want, but this time I avoided seafood and had a burger, chips and a sugar free coke. The service was great, the staff were great, I've eaten here before and I'll eat here again.

I've never had a bad experience with Hunky Dory, and Richmond was no disappointment either. Great food and value for money. Excellent customer service. Would recommend

Hunky Dory's fish and chips was NOT as nice the food was to normal not like 2 years ago then it was nice I gave you One Star.
