Hunky Dory Fish & Chips Oakleigh

The dishes are very large and very filling. If anyone likes Western style, please come. Most of them are foreigners. Passed by and came to try it out.
But if you don't like it, it will be greasy. If it's not all gone, wrap it back.

Love this place, the food is always tasty. I’ve ordered from here multiple times since it’s been open.

Staff were really nice and the fish and chips were immaculate. Fish was crunchy and fresh and the chips were warm. Tartar sauce in the clam shell was a surprising but nice touch to the overall dish. Definetly recommend this spot to any fish and chips lovers.

Super disappointed, ordered the most expensive thing on the menu, King George whiting @ $28, fish was over cooked (dry and chewy) and I got a mouthful of bones in my fillet, when we notified staff they said they would tell the chef then we heard nothing back for the rest of our dine in, clearly they do not care of the quality of their food and so I will never return.

Great quality food! The portion sizes did not disappoint, would highly recommend to come here for lunch, dinner or an event

Fish and chip was delicious. Fresh fish. Would prefer to go with grilled fish next time instead of usual fried ones. Calamari was perfectly cooked.soft!

Waited over two hours for my order and was sent the wrong thing. It was a meat item when I don’t eat meat.

I've never been ripped off so badly. These photos make the portion sizes look bigger than they are. Never have I been served a flake this tiny and paid full price. That potato cake is the smallest excuse of a potato I've seen and $2.50? Really? For reference, that fish was about 3 bites, thin and overcooked anyway. I've been to hunky dory in other places and it's always good but this is pathetic.

Tried there grilled fish plate with african sauce. Must say too good:) Will definatlg go again. But i wish if there will be more chips to eat. Haha

Had the old school (flake and chips). Generous servings, cooked perfectly, delivered to table quickly, in spotlessly clean place, friendly staff.

Used to be a great place as a regular. Now they only play Greek music, we are not Greek and it drives us crazy as we try and eat. Cutlery was also unclean.

Used to be an amazing place to go and eat however the quality and service has fallen off a cliff. We were told that there was no sit down service ‘due to Greek Easter’ only to see the staff and their friends being served normally whilst guests were either turned away or given the takeaway bags and told to leave.

We had a great meal here, fresh salad with grilled fish and calamari, delicious!

Hunky Dory is always one of the best fish and chips.
But the surprise was the veg burger, to which I'd give 10/10.

After ordering on Deliveroo at 8pm and waiting 2hrs for our food, we decided to try and call the restaurant and realised after all this time waiting the restaurant was now closed. Literally did not get any kind of notification or call to let us know the order could not be for filled. Extremely poor form and you’ve most definitely lost a customer! Cannot believe we didn’t even receive a courtesy call

My partner Ordered a flake n chips yesterday
Woke up in the middle of the night throwing up so intensely He was unable to breath properly and was sick for at least 40 minutes before he threw up the rest of what was making him sick
We would usually come here for fish n chips but that’s not happening anymore

Great fresh seafood and delicious salads, Love the grilled calamari and grilled fish of day.

Great service too! I've been many times and will be back again.
