Hoyts Chadstone

This is the first cinema I’ve went to while staying at Melbourne. The seats are nice because they can be reclined. There’s also loads of restaurants nearby to eat food after/before the movie. Of coarse, you can buy and eat popcorn and other drinks.
The only problem I had when I went there were the machines (for tickets). Most of them weren’t working but that wasn’t too much of an issue as there were a couple available machines. Overall, great cinema to go to!

The revamp is good although the recliners aren't that comfortable to me, perhaps I need to be much more overweight, given the size of them. They went for two "extreme screens" so they're not that "extreme".
It's been quiet this year, 2023, on Wednesday nights, which is quite handy for those of us actively trying to avoid catching CV19.

Update - mid October 2023.
Most movies are still very quiet mid-week although the big ones can be packed.
Wednesday night is pretty good but the eating places close earlier but parking is much easier, assuming you can handle a late night on hump day.
However if you come Thursday night allow extra time to get a parking spot as its late night shopping and Chadstone is a mad house!
I don't visit over the weekend, I assume it's busier in the cinemas, the shopping centre is.

What a great cinema and a fantastic movie! "Road to Boston" was partly shot in Australia, and well done to all Australians involved in the Aussie production. Thank you, Hoyts, for the many screenings of this fab feature film.

Cinema is great, staff can’t answer a phone to save their lives. I’ve been trying to call in for hours now and not once has my call been answered!

Nice, only complaint is that the movie was too loud, too much bass that we couldnt even hear the dialogues properly, had to plug my ears half the time. I am not sure whether its a hoyts problem or the indian cinema

I dont think the reclining chairs are worth paying over $20 a ticket but i enjoy coming here with friends

As people didn't sit in their ticketed seats for the sold out movie. We watched the Barbie movie on the floor. We left twice to get help from staff. One member said they would come back with more senior staff and never did. So disappointed.

The new cinema's are great and well done. Great chairs and an excellent experience. Prices for snacks etc are crazy pricey tho.

I wached the EMOJee movvie.anD wen sANS was on the movie I FARTED AND EVERYONE LEAVEEVEED! The movie was now mine and i had a goof tiem.

It was really disappointing. Our movie session at 8: 10pm Space Jam was moved to 6pm. We were not informed and the staff were not helpful. A whole star is too much.

Been here a couple of times with my family and always had an issue with tidiness. You would think with the special covid measures being taken all of the food gets cleared off the seats and the sides instead of having to do it with tissue afters. Sound and picture quality especilaly in the xtreme area is great.

1. When going to see a huge release, a crucial plot point of the movie was spoiled for me at the point of buying popcorn. By a staff member.

2. When watching a movie in Lux upstairs we asked for popcorn to be brought in at the start of the movie. It didn't come for ages and towards the middle of the movie we asked where it was. Two huge tubs came out near the end of the movie just before the credits rolled. When we asked for a refund for popcorn we no longer wanted we were told no - because it had been brought out and it was company policy that food that is brought out is not refunded.

Absolutely useless

Bit of a weird experience with Hoyts Lux at Chady. It’s usually great but it’s like the wheels fell off…. When we rocked up the guy in the foyer said someone will come to us to take our order- that never happened. So five mins before the movie we jump in the line.

We asked for our desserts & drinks at half time- drinks came out straight away (odd but we were cool with it) and the deserts never rocked up. We felt the film was about 75% through so we called for service, the lady said she’d check and then never came back.

A bit disappointing as we were out celebrating our new engagement. Probably wouldn’t rush back TBH… might do gold class next time to be safe.

Always a great place to see a movie. Clean and great staff, best location for drinks or dinner nearby. As always over the top prices for food so just go eat elsewhere nearby. Overall though has it all and a Ben n Jerrys at the entrance which is a nice treat after the movie.

Firstly, The theatre quality is more than insane. I’ve been to watch “Mortal kombat” which is made by DC. Sound quality is 3d. I could literally feel the inside atmosphere of movie. Sound proof wall works perfectly fine. To add on seats are recliner. That’s very comfortable than rest of many other theatres.

Secondly, i had bought popcorns and drink of pepsi max in very less price. Prices are affordable to buy food. Seating arrangements is also very attentive. I got unlimited drink in offer.

Thirdly, staff has very positive and friendly attitude towards costumers. They smile and have a good talk.

And lastly i would say this was my best experience to watch movie in Australian theatres ever. I would only choose to watch movies only at hoyts cinema. ️

Quite a bit of a ghost town. Was surprised at the $45 for two tickets as well. Considering it sure wasn't "Gold Class". Sure it's Saturday and that's a premium timeslot. But cinema 3 was far too loud and while the seats recline, they don't recline far enough. The arms also don't move.

All in all, won't be back.

The acoustics are brilliant. Very comfortable seats. The snack shop before entering the cinemas is WOW with lots of goodies ️

Just a quick note on the location - if you haven't been to Chaddy for a while, the movies aren't where they used to be. If you're looking for them - head to the H&M end then go up two levels (next to Legoland). This place is pretty f*cken money. The normal cinemas have leather reclining seats! It's big and spacious almost to the point of being intimidating. I know we're all used to just waiting until things come out on Netflix (cause really who actually wants to leave their house?) but it's a pretty chill way to get the whole cinema experience and kill a few hours.

Located in Chadstone Shopping Centre, Hoyts Cinemas offer a Variety of Cinema entertainment for everyone.
Very spacious sorroundings, a Bar and plenty of goodies to enjoy during a movie.

Only Downer was that Cinema 2's reclining seat's 13,14 and 17 did not recline at all! If the Comfort of reclining seats is included in the Price, then Hoyts should get its act together. Given the fact that they announce and wish everyone to enjoy the Movie (Mortal Combat) in the comfort of the reclining seats, it amounts to false advertising.

With afew friends we watched Cruella movie there and have BD cake at the lounge area.
The bar and food shop’s staff and specially the manager were so kind and helpful. We enjoy the atmosphere and their hospitality. Definitely recommend this place. And appreciate their beautiful service.
