HOYTS reviews
34Main go to for me personally when it comes to movies in Melbourne. Great screens and well situated.
The reclining seats is all this cinema has got going for it.
Firstly, I booked 2 tickets to a movie as a Christmas gift. I booked my seats back centre. The time of the movie got changed and I got sent new tickets. You would think that given they were just changing the start time, they could give us the same seats as originally booked, but no, we were relocated off to the side. While no, it's not a huge deal, it is annoying when you choose the seat you want and get relocated because they changed the time. (There was only 1 session of the movie playing so it wasn't like we were combined with another session to make it fuller)
Secondly, Hoyts Docklands doesn't want to pay staff to serve you. No, no, no, cost cutting all the way. Instead you have to serve yourself, buying over-priced popcorn that has been sitting in the box they put it in for who knows how long and has gone cold and lost its freshness. Stale popcorn and 2 drinks that will cost you $30? This is why less and less people go to the movies these days.
Will never be returning to Hoyts Docklands, that's for sure.
I love the movies so 5 stars always. But I wish they had hot popcorn. Not a huge fan of the self-serve popcorn sitting under heat lamps. Especially when it's midweek, so it would just be sitting there for hours.
Great seats, plush and comfy and reclining - xcllnt audio system. Very pleasurable viewing experience
This place is very convenient and looks luxury provided many cinemas and nice seats. There’s ben&jerry’s in the front as well.
The sound levels in their “extreme screen” cinema 1 for the Taylor Swift Eras Tour movie were way too low, popcorn for purchase was also cold and stale, clearly customer experience is low importance here.
One of the best Cinemas in Victoria.
The staff are very accommodating and friendly and the seats are the best.
And even if you have a lot of things to watch on streaming devices, watching movies in Hoyts Docklands will give you GREAT experiences.
Keep it up Hoyts Docklands!
I had no idea that there was a Hoyts located at Docklands, so I thought I'd check it and familiarise. Friendly staff and the venue has a nice layout. Not many people were in the same cinema as myself. Will definitely come back again when in the city.
The only thing that's off was the movie didn't start at the said time. It started 30 mins later
More reasonable price with better facilities. Can choose Hoyts docklands rather than the Melbourne central one.
Love watching movies here. Simply because the seats are really comfy and it's usually not so crowded. It's got a self serve snack and drinks section. And a bar where you could order coffees or alcohol. You could buy tickets here from the self serve machine or through the app.
The online booking system is a breeze, the check-in at the cinema is very slick. The new cinema is clean and fresh, and the reclining seats are very comfy.
Luxe seating, small cinemas.excellent sound system which doesn't deafen. Gold class features for a $15 ticket. Exceptional value!
Easily the best Hoyts in and around CBD. Comfy seats, neat and we'll laid out. Would have loved to have the waiting area have a large screen just like Hoyts melb central.
Overall a great place to watch movie.
This is the cleanest cinema I've ever been to. And every showing offers closed captioning which is so important for us.
We watched “Croods new age” movie on Saturday at 4: 50. The were hardly 29 people inside the theatre. The hall is pretty neat. Tried the popcorn it was too salty. Overall good experience.
Super clean! Being a first-timer, it is a little confusing on getting snacks before the movie via self-service. However, staff is friendly and attentive! Just ask your way! This cinema in Docklands is generally quiet and provides a quality feel to it. Cash and card payments accepted. Wheelchair accessible. Parking available in shopping centre. Overall very satisfied and definitely would recommend!
Xtremescreen. Great addition to Hoyts Dockland.
Huge cinema space and new recliners are amazing.
Really nice and new Hoyts. All chairs are recliners and everything is only two years old. Ben and Jerry's icecream and usual movie theatre food available.
Only thing is that if you park in the paid car park, the Hoyts coupon only gives you 50% off the parking total which becomes $5. Parking at Highpoint is free.
Unsure where to scan prebooked ticket when I walked in, however the staff were absolutely amazing and guided me through everything. Very polite and courteous, helpful and just a wonderful first experience.
The popcorn wasn't hot nor was it salty enough however the drink and pricing was pretty competitive with other cinemas as long as your a hoyts member (which is free).
Seats were very comfy, reclined and lots of space. Will go back to Hoyts.
