Purchased a packet of Chives and got a large piece of dried glue in it. Judging by other reviews it seems to be a theme with this company. Their products are like a Kinder Surprise, you don't know what you're about to get. Worst part is they don't seem to care! If you contact them via Facebook you wont get a response, contact their website and they take their time. The only way is to phone them with your issue.

The single biggest embarrassment to the Australian food industry. 'SINCE 1960'. The red cocktail onions left me with an IV drip in my arm and a hefty carpet cleaning bill. No good

I purchased two Hoyt’s Giardiniera jars and found on opening one the lid had a black spot which had corroded the lid and blackened the cauliflower at the top of the opened jar, fearing contamination l didn’t use the product but kept the it for the Hoyt’s complaints department to have a look at the problem, l have emailed this company on two occasions but to date have had no response or contact from Hoyt’s, my opinion of this company is that they have very poor customer relation and follow up skills, l feel that Hoyt’s Spices company should not be supported, if they treat all customers like they have treated me, people find another company.

Bought a jar of oregano to find plastic shavings in it, that's okay mistakes happen. But what really upset me was the fact we had to drive back to the supermarket during cooking our recipe and buy another jar and then when we contacted Hoyts they gave us 2 free jars. WOW! Thanks Hoyts, we almost ate plastic shavings and wasted 30 mins to go back to the supermarket during cooking and we got a whole $6 of free herbs. This company should not be supported, find another brand people!

I have been buying this product for years. I have just found a large ant in an unopened jar of pickles, I'm mortified, this is disturbing. As I read other reviews its clear to me this place is unhygienic and needs to be shut down.

I have bought Hoyts foods and spices for over 30 years and always find their products terrific. Seasonal, Moroccan Spice, Chili - or whatever, always high quality and great price.

Unable to open a jar of Hoyts French Capers (batch B/N 24020 0n the lid). They must put Superglue on the lids. Tried using a lid grip, tried running the lid under hot water, tried with rubber gloves for a better grip. The lid is ridiculously tight. Finally had to chuck it in the bin. Last time I'll waste money on this product. (Even tried phoning Hoyts for advice on how to open the lid but no-one picks up the phone.)

I had the olives today and they had a smell to them and had no flavour to them. I was very disappointed in them and will not be purchasing them again

I am GROSSED OUT with their rubbish products! Found a slug inside of their pickled salad jar. Disgusting! DO NOT BUY from them! The company should be close down.

HOYTS FOODS pitted olives are not pitted!
I recently bought a large jar of supposedly pitted olives, put on a pizza and nearly broke a tooth on a pit.
I then checked other olives on pizza and 5 had pits.
This was emailed to HOYTS twice with no courtesy of reply by HOYTS.
So if you do not want expensive dental treatment do NOT buy, try to eat HOYTS pitted olives, too many of which are not pitted!

Very economical prices with a great variety that really enhances what i am cooking for the night.

My wife brought a container of your chili flake and there was some type of fungus growing inside. The container had a moldy smell to it. My wife took it back to Coles, they also had another container with the same issue. It was Coles at Woy Woy on the Central Coast of NSW.

Just a warning on the 1.7kg Pitted Olives.considering you pay more for this convenience we did not find it so.our container had over half full of pips and although you expect to find a couple in such large quantities, this was very annoying and a lesson learnt. Will never purchase again and have advised family and friends to also be aware!

These guys are crooks. I have just discovered that the Oragano that I have bought from this company for years is 90% olive leaves and < 11% Oragano. DO NOT BUY ANY OF THESE PRODUCTS. Hoytes sell adulterated merchandise. The ACCC tested the Oragano but who knows what radioactive crap they are padding out the rest of their product line with. Do not buy their products. These guys need to be put out of business.
