Hot Star Large Fried Chicken

One of the better quality hot stars in Melbourne, the chicken always hits and is never soggy. The courtyard it’s situated in often has music and little events making it a great oasis in the chaos that is the ‘scray. Chips are a little bit of a dice roll so I’d suggest swapping them out. Load up on the chilli seasoning and seaweed powder

One of the female staff is very rude to customer. She was very unfriendly when I asked her for help with order.

The sign says 8 minutes to perfection…. 25 mins to Cook chicken breast in a deep fryer
And the service was not slow because that are to busy cleaning the place filthy

A favourite place of mine. This one is tucked into a nice little corner with large, open seating. With a bubble tea shop not even 10 metres away, it's a place for a perfect meal! The chicken was delicious and hot as always and the chicken salt was absolutely banging!

Store isn't well cleaned.
The portion sizes are getting smaller and smaller each visit.
They have swapped from fries to thick chips.they don't follow the instructions- seasoning.

The staff are perpetually rude or blank faced.

I ask staff for order chicken pop snacks pack because I couldn't find on kiosk she said "order there everything in there" I said please come and have a look the one I want not in kiosk she was angry on me look likes she doesn't want to take my order. Finally she did my order on her tablet. I been waiting outside for 5 - 10 minutes then back inside the shop she look at me didn't said anything she trying to do another and then walk away she came back and ask orders number 15,16 then 17 until everyone gone and then she ask me what your number I knew she knows my orders but she trying keep me waiting and waiting.
If the owner see the comments please training your staff about attitude and service mind.

Absolutely delicious! Tasty & crunchy with variety of seasoning options. Prompt service - UberEats. Packaging was perfect and meal sizes are very generous. Definitely not my last visit! Halal indeed

Hotstar Footscray has better fried chicken wings than next door. I also love their large fried chicken as well. Good chicken, and good service. That are reasons why I am a fan of Hotstar. Big shout to the Hotstar staff, he suggested me the flavours I should choose for my chicken. It was so delicious!

Love the food, but the workers are always rude and ignore you.

I requested for more seasoning originally and food came out and didnt have seasoning. When i asked to get more seasoning the female worker rolled her eyes and didn’t even hide it.

It was an asian girl working 1st august shift 6pm.

I understand that she might be under pressure but it’s not necessary to be rude to people when i was being polite.

You clearly need to train your staff to be nicer

Very slow, not convenient for those taking transport. Should fix this because it is right next to footscray station where studentw commute: (

Poor guy that works at 4pm needs help, should have 2 people there to speed things up.
Instead of 8 minutes i was waiting for almost 30 minutes.

Food was still at a great standard, disappointed in how slow it was though.

Also have noticed a decline in size of the chicken pop, not as generous as the chicken pop I received yesterday. Very sad: (

I love Hotstar chicken but the Footscray one is a big disappointment. I went there twice last month and it was closed an hour before the closing time. One of the staff was very rude.and most importantly, all the portions were much less compared to the Hotstar in the city. Wish they would open one in Sunshine.

Their fried chicken is always delicious, so I'm always sure to stop by when in Footscray.

I don't care for their sides like the chips and wings though, so best bet is to stick with the chicken.

Super delicious fried chicken. I highly recommend hot star large fried chicken with chilly, cajun, salt&pepper and a bit of plum salt.

I did not like it. I tried 3 different chickens and maybe one, was ok. It is just weird, different, special. Not for me. Plus, I asked for chips and the cashier did not tell they were selling sweet potato chips, super sweet, the birds are them at the end. Disappoints because we just drove there to try this place

Chicken is serrioulllllly largeee.
But the taste is seriosulllyy bland.
Might come back to try another flavour to see if it’s just the seasoning.

Was sad when this place closed down for a few months a while back. So glad that they decided to reopen!

Chicken is well seasoned and delicious also recommend trying the fried squid

Not sure whether this is all Hot Stars or just Footscray but I ordered "Big Bites" Chicken Bites for about $7. This is what I received. Probably 8 pieces of tiny chicken.definitely not worth it considering you can get an XL for $9

Tastiest chicken.first impression it looks like ridiculously big but after one bit you know one wont be enough

Just order food for delivery. The mushroom is poorly done. Like it was dip in oil then taken out straightaway. Not crispy at all. Very dissapointed

Food is good. Very understaffed though. I ordered from a different restaurant, lined up for this while i was waiting, and my food was ready at the other place before I was served. There was only one person in front of me. 1 staff member is insufficient.
