Hot Poppy cafe reviews
21 I have been religiously visiting hot poppy for breakfast whenever iam in Melbourne since randomly stumbling on it about 8years ago.
All ill say is I get the maple Bacon everytime. (and the coffee never disappoints either!) Highly recommend!
Sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine and the brilliant waiter service.
Excellent menu choices for all of us and great coffee making.
Not local to me, but will certainly come again for our next catch up with friends.
Absolutely perfect. This cafe has it all, fantastic food, friendly and attentive staff, lovely atmosphere and great coffee. I highly recommend this cafe. I enjoyed the Reuben sandwich, what a delight. I’ll be back to enjoy other items in the menu. ;)
Went here for brunch with my father and my partner! The food was delicious, albeit a bit pricy. We had the blue swimmer crab omelette, the steak sandwich, and the chicken burger. All were super tasty! The steak sandwich came with significantly more chips compared to my partner’s burger lol. My father said his coffee was really good and was super impressed, however my hot chocolate was 50% foam and 50% lukewarm liquid in a small cup. Everyone was satisfied with their meals and the waiter! We sat outside which was alright - nice to be where it’s a sunny day. Overall, if you’re looking for a nice breakfast/lunch out and want to spend a bit, it’s an alright place to go!
A cozy cafe with lovely vibes. The food, coffee and service are amazing. Highly recommend the toasts.
Had to ask for my coffee to be extra hot again. Pancakes were precooked. Overall disappointing
A very family-friendly atmosphere who even cater for your 4 legged family members!
Happy staff, happy customers, and good food!
Mind-blowing environment and friendly staffs. Very good food with nice coffee on the side.
Love this cafe. Best service great food and wonderful eclectic old Melbourne style building. A must visit. Soup outstanding
We were looking for an early spot for breakfast and we stumbled across this little gem. The staff were so kind and helpful. The food was delicious and hit the spot, eggs Benedict and scrambled eggs. I'd definitely recommend if you're in the area!
Wandered past on our first day of holiday and glad we picked this place. Food was delicious and fantastic service from Dennis!
Gotta get behind a place that has not one but two soup specials in the Melbourne winter! We tried the Morrocan chickpea and lentil soup and it was incredibly satisfying with a rich taste of saffron.
Eggs Benedict with hash is my go to dish. Probably one of the best ones I have tasted in the area. Good eggs, crisp hash and really nice creamy luscious sauce.
Never go again, charged extra money for some extra bread, dirty glass and cutlery, bad service.
Small cozy breakfast place with solid menu that's not too dependent on egg dishes. Coffee was on the small side, but very nice and made well. Great for a morning brunch with couples or friends, not overly child friendly.
Absolutely delightful! Chill vibes, friendly Staff and the food… amazing!
On warm days it’s really nice to sit outside, watch the people walk by and to enjoy your meal.
The Reuben toastie (16$) is nice and crunchy on the outside, and generously filled, delicious.
Their flat white is great too (as almost always in Melbourne).
If you dine in you get a free bottle of water.:)
The toasted sandwiches here are yummy, as are the fries. My favourite is the Halloumi cheese toastie! For breakfast, the eggs Benedict is a winner! Service is always good
Randomly stumbled across this place and let me say, it was such a beautiful surprise. Awesome food, great coffee and great service. The photo may look basic, but the flavours weren’t, making a simple breakfast absolutely delicious.
Great breakfast - huge menu
Recommend the Provost toastie - Provolone cheese with chicken, bacon, red onions, Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ on sourdough
For lunch try the chicken schnitzel toastie or the Reuben
