What a fun place, they certainly didn't have facilities like that when I was young enough to try. I used the bike service to pump up my tyres.

Excellent exercise area and it's always have some one there working out, great position also, next to Maribyrnong river.

If you are running along the river, you can stopover for a drink. Do some pull ups and calisthenics. Outdoor gym and rock climbing area.

Fairly new bouldering wall situated on a popular bike track. Features a bike repair station and outdoor gym. One of the best free climbing walls near the CBD.

Best free bouldering spot in Melbourne. Situated right beside the river underneath the bridge, with a nice breeze during hot summer days. There are shade, benches, water fountain, exercise facilities and of course this brilliant wall. Thank you to all the setters and for providing this fantastic spot for adults and kids!

Love this spot! This place inspired my brother, dad and I to get into climbing. Great for all levels and abilities. The route setters are very friendly as well as some other climbers. Can sometimes get busy, however climber etiquette makes sure everyone gets a turn.

Great initiative by council that I’d not only good for those that use the wall but attracts more people to an area that was until recently a mess of rubbish and graffiti

Nice shaded area! Great views. Good for all ages. Great place for climbers who want some training or short routes that are cost free. Great range of difficulty of holds! Could get bored easily if you were to go 3-4 times a week.

Excellent public facility for Bouldering and bodyweight training! I am always on the look out for free places to get fit, and this is one of my favourites.

Great free outdoor recreation area along the river. The holds are changed frequently so that the challenge is different every time.

A great place for climbers from beginner to intermediate to be able to climb conveniently local to parking and free of charge. A friendly atmosphere and clearly labeled problems.

This is the newest bouldering wall in Melbourne. The bouldering wall was built by the Maribyrnong City Council, so please report any graffiti or vandalism act to them.

The floor underneath the wall is very cushioned, better that Burnley; so there is no current need for a crash pad, but you might need a spotter in the overhang.

There are also 4 bike parking spots, right next to the climbing Wall, water tap available plus warming up area. No toilets or lights.

How to get there:

If you come East to West on Hopkins street, turn left into Moreland Street before St Monica Primary School, then turn left again on Saltriver Place.

Best place to park is right next to Maribyrnong River Cruises (4 Hours free) please refer to photo.

Next option for parking is Saltriver Pl.which is 2-3 minutes walk to the climbing wall.

Enjoy!

Fun problems for a beginner intermediate. Great to see stuff like this open to the community however I feel a lack of pads may mean some injuries for the less experienced climber.
