Mick and the team are very helpful, bought some ultimate game fishing rods, the team spooled up my reels and set all drags to 12 kilo and showed us how they all worked.
Also has a huge range of fishing gear.
Been shopping here for years always friendly and helpful with any questions and advise.

Owners are really nice. Staff are really helpful. Good collection of fishing items for sale. Bought a Shimano Sephia BB 809M squid rod, Daiwa surf rod, Silstar 7m pole, Gosen braid, etc. I support local business.

The best place you can have to buy fishing rods, baits, everything is very good customer service it's amazing.

Have been coming to Hooked on Bait and Tackle for years now. I live in the Eastern suburbs and make the 45 minute drive whenever I need something fishing related despite having plenty of tackle shops closer by. Mick, Mel & the rest of the staff are always super friendly and helpful and can be trusted to provide the right advice and very reasonable prices. They don't oversell or push you to buy stuff you don't need either. Its the first tackle shop where I've been told "you have enough lures, you don't need anymore"!

Mick doesnt rest on his laurels either and is always looking out for newer quality under represented brands over the years, I am always able to find something new and exciting to buy.

Go see Mick and his wife, very knowledgeable, well priced and more of a personalised service when compared to the large retailers.

Ever since I got into fishing as a hobby when I was in my teens, Mick and the team provided me with sound advise not just on gear that suited my needs and budget, but also on all the "hows and wheres" of fishing that helped me turn the hobby into a passion.

Back then it was a small store.but even now with much larger and definitely more busy store, they still provide the intimate service of the "local tackle Shop" that you'd hope for.

I live in Canberra now and was traveling back to Melbourne for the long weekend, during which my favourite rod was broken.
I dropped into the store after not being in Melbourne for six months, and they still greeted me like I was a local and took the time to guide me towards replacing a rod that had high sentimental value to me.
To go the extra mile, upon leaving I was having car trouble to which Mel gave me a jump start.
If that isn't service then I don't know what is.

What a place, this is the bunnings of the tackle shops, have everything you need from novice to pro, great customer service and plenty car spaces!

Always amazing service. Really attentive, friendly staff who are highly knowledgeable. A great range of tackle, bait and clothing. We love the Costa sunnies and shimano clothing too. Mel's your expert when purchasing knives. Filleting is a breeze with top notch knives. Oh and check out the cups, thermos section it's well worth the money.

I found your shop about a month ago. I drove two and a half hours from Bendigo area, I bought a heap of flies and other fly gear the staff very helpful I even came away with a free gift, going back tomorrow to buy some saltwater flies and get some information about flathead in the area-Great shop
