Homm Dessert at Heart reviews
23Thai style desserts with some twist. Asian desserts usually not too sweet. Good service. Seats upstairs require 2 flights of stairs.
After trying their desserts for so many times, their Thai Tea bingsu is still top of my Melbourne Bingsu List
From the ice cream to the bingsu itself, the thai tea flavour is just so good, rich & not-too-sweet!
Would love to come back and try out their mochi dessert
my favourite Thai dessert!

Went to Homm for the 2nd time today and they had a new thing on the menu. The mochi wrapped ice cream should have never left the design table. This dessert is so difficult to eat without a knife.
No air conditioning, crowded table seat. Do not accept cash payment. Make sure you bring your payment card with you. So much prefer Osko snow ice not far away from this place.
After 30 mins of queue, we finally got in! We had the Thai tea bingsu, Mango sticky rice bingsu and pandan coconut shokupan. Guess what? We loved all of them, but the pandan coconut shukopan was my number one. Food serving was quick too. The portion was big (2-3 people could share one dessert), but I think you would be tempted to order most items. ️
I have heard about this cafe for awhile. They are quite famous on social media. Located on a very convenient location, just take the exit from Melbourne Central Station on Elizabeth street and cross the intersection you will find this cafe.
I would offer 10 stars for their young waitress who was so professional in giving information to a first timer like us and super friendly. We ordered 2 desserts that I forgot the name already (it’s one with mango). Both are fine to me even my friend mentioned it’s too sweet tho. However, the price is a bit pricey. Considering they acquired a great location so that could be a reason for the price. Still worth trying at least once for everyone.
Homm Dessert at Heart brings fresh air to Melbourne’s Asian desserts game. From bingsu to shokupan toast, they tasted as good as they look. I would love to go back having their Thai milk tea bingsu and coconut kaya shokupan toast again. So amazing
Pretty cool experience. I got the Salted Egg Coconut Bingsu; very cold dessert and would be awesome in summer. I wish there were more of the drippy toppings to mix into the coconut. Pretty steep prices but will come back for the toasty looking stuff and awesome service, everyone in the kitchen saying goodbye
The strong buttery aroma from their shop has proven how great their desserts will be! If you’re a Thai milk tea lover, definitely go for their super rich thai milk tea Bingsu. Was told the Pink Himalayas will be super sweet but it was actually acceptable and loving the light and refreshing flavour from the sala fruit! And of course, the Pandan Kaya shokupan is a MUST TRY! What’s more their kaya is housemade?
I had the pandan kaya shokupan. IT WAS SOO GOOD! It wasn’t too sweet but it was very definitely filling.the desserts here are totally for sharing, i couldn’t try the bingsu cause it was a bit too much and it was quite cold.a little pricey but it was super delicious, definitely recommend!
First time here and definitely won’t be my last. I enjoyed the flavours of their desserts and the different kind of things that were on offer on the menu. Went kind of late so some of the things we wanted to try were sold out but what we did get was amazing! Quite sweet but for someone like me who has a sweet tooth it was delicious and refreshing. Only thing I would say is that it is quite pricey for dessert, however the serving size was worth it.
This place certainly lived up to the hype! The milk tea Bingsu had everyone at the table fighting to get as much as possible. The coconut ice cream and Kaya shokupan would make the angels cry. 10/10 would recommend!
Friends and I were seated in the upper level after a bit of a wait outside in the rain but the warmth and coziness of the inside was well worth it. Mango sticky rice bingsu was the favourite with the warm sticky rice side and sweetened mango chunks. Adding this restaurant to my roster of bingsu go-to places.
Loooved this place so much! Everything was so delicious but favourite was the coconut & pandan kaya shokupan <3 the bread was so fluffy and the flavours worked so well together! Definitely keen to come back and try more.
Amazing Thai dessert shop in the heart of CBD! This is my fourth visit within 4 weeks! Hehehe! My latest visit I ordered the following:

My absolute favourites (I ordered the last 3 times as well) are the Thai tea bingsu and the coconut & pandan kaya shokupan. Both are incredibly delicious and super addictive!
Authentic, aromatic & strong is how I describe the Thai tea flavour of the bigsu. Super loaded with Thai tea elements including Thai tea sauce, Thai tea ice cream and The Thai tea shaved ice.
Bursting with delicious aromatic flavours and every bite you take you just want to eat more of it – yes, addictive is the coconut & pandan kaya shokupan. The thick Japanese milk bread is light, fluffy and perfectly brulee toasted. The pandan kaya is soo soo delicious paired with the yummy, salted coconut sauce, ice cream & coconut meat!
The new mango sticky rice bingsu is a creative twist to the traditional Thai mango sticky rice but for me it’s not quite there with the flavour elements. The mango pieces are quite heavy which makes the bingsu melt fast so you’re pretty having a liquid drink. I’ve had this dessert twice and I really think the mango pieces, and mango puree should be completely separate to the bingsu. The warm Thai coconut sticky rice is really yum. Pour a bit of coconut milk and add some of the mango pieces and you’ve got the flavour you’re after.
Their Iced Thai Tea and Honey Lime Iced Thai Tea are my absolute favourite drinks to order here!
Pro tip: place a bit of everything onto a spoon to enjoy all the different elements & flavours together at the same time. This will give you a much better experience rather than just a heapful of bingsu or a bite size of fluffy toast with nothing else.
Due to the busy schedule of my friends, finally I’ve arranged the meeting and this cafe is the first place that I’ve been thinking about. But shokupan is sold out today I’m a bit sad.
The salted egg bingsu is always be my fav. One of my friend who has tasted it for the first time told me that she really like the salted egg sauce and she wished she can order for extra sauce, she really love it and willing to pay for 2 more extra sauces if the cafe have that choice in abacus xD. The bualouy is WOW chewing every ingredients tgt is sooo chillin n satisfied.
The Thai milk tea bingsu is also great for me. But one of my friend said it’s too sweet n another one said it’s not, she need more condensed milk or syrup lmao. Everyone has their own favorite of tasting. But one thing that all of my friends agreed is that your dessert is meet the high quality, tasty and they love the texture of the ice! (bingsu).
Keeping this standard guys! You’re doing an amazing job! [by healing the desperate-burn out-women (yeah me&my friends) with your desserts]
Thank you! We will come back again for sure xD
P.s. The staff r very friendly, nice n helpful!
Cute, cosy interior. Variety of desserts and pretty unique idea for the shaved ice. Mango shaved ice came with sticky rice and the ice was coconut flavoured. Mango was pretty fresh but more Mango would've been nice.
Can’t go wrong with visiting this cute spot for dessert. We tried a variety of dishes but my absolute favourite would be the coconut pandan kaya shokupan. The best way to enjoy it is to have all of the elements at once. Additionally, I also enjoyed the mango bingsu with the sticky rice, the sweet and salty flavours went really well together. Highly recommend sharing one dessert between 2-3 people, as the portions are quite generous. Looking forward to seeing new desserts on the menu!
Quickly shaping up to be our favourite dessert store in Melbourne! Every time we've gone, we've seen lines out the door — and for good reason. The Mango Sticky Rice Bingsu was fresh and nostalgic, while the Coconut and Pandan Kaya Brûlée Shokupan was so decadent and the right amount of sweet. The team was super warm and friendly too!
The moment you walk into the cafe, you can smell the sugar! Very pretty atmosphere. Their desserts were amazing! We had the pink bingsu, pandan shokupan, and passionfruit butterfly pea drink. The bingsu was very good! No faults on my end. The shokupan was amazing. It was incredibly savoury and sweet. The drink ended up being too sweet for us. The serving sizes were very generous. It would be a fun place to bring multiple people so you can try different things. I would come back to try other desserts!
