Hollywood Nails Barkley Square

My own fault for not listening to the reviews but honestly avoid unless you want to live thru a cursed experience. I first came in just over a month ago for SNS. It took ages and I came out with chunky little five-layered nails that were so thick with SNS, it looked like I'd dipped them in a bowl of wax and painted them over with polish lol. Was also pretty uneven but honestly kind of passable so whatever.

I then went about the next four weeks unperturbed, enjoying the Euro summer. In my euphoric state, I might have even forgotten how freaky my nails were.

Upon return, I was desperate to get my chunky talons off and for some weird reason came back to the scene of the crime. An SNS soak off was $20 ladies. And if by "soak off" they mean "violently hack at your already-sensitive nail bed with an electric nail drill", then I would have been sufficiently satisfied with the service. However, I came in unaware and came out with the most brittle nails in all of Melbourne's inner north. Very sad and never again: '~ (Respect the hustle tho ladies.

I’ve tried many nail Salons in the area but I keep coming back here because they’ve always delivered great service and do my nails exactly how I like them. I’ve been maybe a dozen times now to get acrylic nail sets and never had any problems and always walk away with nails I love. The staff are so friendly and sweet and alway gentle and get the job done in a timely manner.
Today when I visited I had an extra wonderful experience as my nail tech took extra care and detail with my set of acrylic nails to make them perfect and seamless with my natural nails, all while getting me in an out in no time.
Won’t be going anywhere else

The staff were friendly and fast but my shellac peeled off a day after I got my nails done. It was on acrylic so this shouldn't happen and has never happened to me before at other salons. I don't know whether it was the quality of the colour itself or how it was applied, but do not recommend for this reason.

I'm very satisfied with the service here.

Shellac peeled 2 days after having them done (fixed for free). They also charged more than what their price list said - I asked for the difference back and they shrugged it off and said prices had increased

Very rude and unhelpful staff made me feel very uncomfortable through the entire experience. She refused to ask me what i wanted and insisted she knew best. I ended up not getting what i wanted at all and am very unhappy. There are way better places to go to in Brunswick.

I love this nail so much. They have done a good job, professonal. They took care on my natural nails, lovely and friendly staff

Went there to get acrylics, I’ve came with a reference picture and asked if they can do the design, they said yes even tho the obviously couldn’t!
The nails aren’t even and lumpy!
I had to go and get them fixed right after I left there.
Waste of money and bad service!

My 14 year old daughter came in with 3 of her friends on Saturday and not only did you charge them $55 for the no shellac instead of the $45 they made her cuticle bleed and the glue was so hot she swears there was smoke coming off her nail they also didn’t do the hearts design she asked for they left it a plain pink colour. Also you might want to tell your staff if they are going to talk and laugh about customers they might want to make sure no one present knows your language because just because you think they didn’t they did. Absolutely would recommend nobody step foot inside this establishment. How your still in business I’ll never know. I’m going to be calling consumer affairs.

Genuinely wish I never went to this place.
Was waiting for my flight home to Sydney that was delayed so I thought I'd get my nails done and they made me bleed many times, and my nails had so much glue and acrylic residue on them when they were done. - my finger tips also started swelling up with liquid and they became so sensitive to the touch and they've been dry and started cracking/peeling, they have never fully healed from this. I've had to go on antibiotics and use serious hand creams after this experience.

*Edit*: it's been a year and a half and my nails/hands have finally recovered from the trauma this place put on me. I had never had any issues with acrylic nails till that one time, and afterwards only used gel extensions so that I had some strength on my nails while they were paper thin and bleeding frequently.

Do not, for the life of you, ever go here.

Waited an hour and had to soak my nails and had to leave with my nails a mess because I had a prior arrangement. Another person who came 30mins after me was seen before I was. Not okay! Will never go there again.

Got a pedicure 2 weeks back, was left with a nasty fungal infection that cropped up a few days after. Still working to get rid of it.

Dirty, disgusting salon, looks like nothing has been cleaned for years. I had to dust nails and clippings off my chair before I sat on it.
Had nails done paid $50 had to go back twice in the same week as they started peeling and chipping.
The nail technicians speak to each other in their own language and don’t even acknowledge you at all.
The lady doing my nails drew blood on more than three occasions using her filing machine never once apologised.
Nothing is cleaned or sterilised given the Covid situation.
Don’t go here EVER, it’s all just moneymaking no customer service and they use cheapest products and tools available.

I've been here a few times now for SNS dip powder on my real nails. I did return to have some minor issues repaired twice which they seemed willing to do so I appreciate that.
My SNS lasted over a month which is great.
I would appreciate if another language wasn't spoken so often while customers are being serviced along with a little more effort to make conversation with us would be nice.

Me and my friend got base SNS done for $50 each, it was done in roughly 15-20mins, the staff seemed very experienced, and were nice. Finished job looked great, was told would last 2-3 weeks I’m writing this review the day of so I’ll update to let you know how they end up lasting, but in terms of the experience it is was lovely! Me and my friend had a wonderful time! Lots of cool and nice ppl also getting stuff done to chat with, cheap prices, good service, my friend and I highly recommend! Update! One broke off but due to my own fault, other than that the rest still look great and aren’t chipped or cracked! Definitely will last 2-3 weeks maybe a month if ur super careful

Got a shellac manicure - just painted nail polish straight on with no prep work. They lasted one week.

RUDE! SHOCKING STAFF! PRETTY SURE THEY ARE COLOUR BLIND ASWELL! I WOULD HARDLY CALL WHAT I GOT A MANICURE IF THIS IS HOW THEY LET ME LEAVE

Very bad service and rude staff
- the products used seem to be bad quality
- the staff was very rude and dont know how to talk to customers.i almost feel like i did something wrong to her by going to the shop
- ver rushed job & dont give enough tome to dry, like they want you to leave asap so they can take next customer

while i was there there was another customer who came back to remove her shellac because the quality was too bad

i won't come back again, won't recommend to friends either

Staff were late to open, were rude and diffixult to understand, not a smile to be had anywhere, tools did not come from sealed pack or steriliser.definately never going back.
