Hogans Charcoal Chicken Grill

I’ve been going to this chicken shop at least 15 years, but since the new owners have taken over the prices have gone up, and the quality has gone as bad as it can get. They used to have to shut the lid on a 1/2 chicken and chips with an elastic band. This is what I got today, about 35 Luke warm chips and a dry chook. It’s been progressively getting worse and worse. Don’t waste your money here.

Price has gone up but quantity down. Barely any chips with the quarter. Chicken was dry. Really gone downhill since owner change Lost me for good, won't be back.

Went here to order chicken, potatoes, pumpkin, gravy and 2 salads for Xmas day. I was unwell so thought buying everything was a better choice instead of having to cook. Never again, I’d rather get out of my
deathbed and cook than eat this again. It was all disgusting. Potatoes were dry, we ordered 20 potatoes but they were all cut in half and very dry. I ordered 20 pieces of pumpkin and I think there was 2 bags full of greasy pumpkin mash, the salads looked like they were days old, our guests ate hardly anything, lucky l had bought a ham and did a few fresh salads! Will never buy from you again, it was an utter disappointment.

Worst place ever, wouldn't feed my dog this food! Chicken dry, chips average and a dry salad.unsure how you have dry salad but this place has managed to pull it off! We are constantly given choices and I have chosen never to go back to this place and I hope you choose to go elsewhere.

NEW OWNERS! Do not waste your time. Bought a qtr chicken and chips. The chicken was so old and dry, tasted like it was a day old. Bearing in mind this was lunch time so it should have been very fresh. Disgusting.

Disgusting.
The chicken was not cooked and tiny serve for ¼. The pumpkin was hard and not cooked also. The potatoes were ok but tasteless and the peas were cold. Never coming back here again. I had not eaten all day and was looking forward to dinner. So disappointing and it ended up in the bin.

Brought a chicken roll went outside opened it l could smell the chicken was off.this Guy knew it was bad but still tried to flog it to me. Disgusting this place needs Health inspector to go through this place before someone gets seriously sick

Extremely overpriced bought a 6 dollar chicken roll the chicken tasted old and like rubber and was very dry it was in very small portions and there was hardly any chicken in the actual roll I would not recommend this place to anyone

We brought lunch from here today, the salads overall were pretty good but the chicken was disgusting, dry, no meat, over cooked and like it had been in the warmer for days. Very ordinary for a business that prides itself on "chicken". Don't waste your time, go somewhere else.

Bought a schnitzel burger one day and was given a burger (quite rightly) with the whole schnitzel on it. Bought 2 another time and they split the single schnitzel between the two. It would have been ok if they were cheaper. Their chips are good though.

Not as it use to be when it first open. Chicken is dry chips is over cooked, overall disgusting not going back.

We ordered online just recently, took awhile to confirm order, but they did confirm it only to have them cancel our order 20 to 30 minutes later. Family wasn't happy at all, we where not given any reason or anything.
In hindsight we found a great new Chinese food on old Geelong Rd instead.

Remember it opened around 1998/99; then excellent chicken, chips and salad. Today not worth your dime. Get better CC, chips and salad elsewhere for less. Coleslaw only consists of thick slices of green cabbage and dressing.

If you are going for the hsp it is a disappointment and the service is terrible meat is dry than a desert

Have given this place many chances. It was always 50/50 on whether you would get a good meal or not. Today was the last straw when I received a raw chicken schnitzel in the burger I ordered. This is what happens when you are using frozen foods, instead of fresh and not knowing how to cook it properly. Will not be going back again.

The food was gross, and how do you manage to stuff up a hsp, its one of the most simple meals on the planet

Discustiing dry microwaved chicken roll and awful drenched cole slaw was almost runny with mayo discusting not a healthy fresh food They advertise on their board.

Don't understand how this place has bad/sub-par reviews to be honest. I have been a customer here for years and even after management changed hands it has been great. One of the best charcoal chicken places I have ever been to. Great charcoal chicken and decent chips for reasonable prices. Service has always been good.

Admittedly I only ever get chicken and chips so I couldn't speak to the rest of the menu.
