Booked the place for my birthday dinner! Me and my friends are loving this place. Love the great hospitality, good food, amazing vibe, excellent services! Tasty beers and live music just made it even better! The wait staffs are so friendly and helpful! We had such a good time here. Definitely will comeback and highly recommended!

Caught the last day of the Oktoberfest and it was great! Even though the place was bustling, the food came out quickly and service was attentive! We ordered the pork knuckle and it was huge and delicious! Prost!

We ordered the platter and the beef brisket. They were WONDERFUL! The platter was so worth it- consists of all the meals i wanted to try and it serves up to 4 people. The waitress always checks up on us to see if everything was alright. It was such a fun experience with the live music going on. So so so fun! Definitely coming back

One of the best pork knuckle in the world for most people - minimal spiced, not too salty and amazing crispy and light skin (not the type that stick on your teeth). Solid German Largers on tap. Good place to bring anyone for a feast.

I had my 90th birthday and was very satisfied with my party at the Hofbrauhaus. My guests all enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

What an amazing restaurant! A Bavarian restaurant in Chinatown Melbourne, this is as good as it gets. I will definitely come back to this place many times as I love German food and restaurants.
Fantastic restaurant and authentic German Bavarian food and beverages, fresh meals, this is very good quality.
The staff uniforms are typical Bavarian style, which reminds me of being in Bavaria, which is really refreshing. I have been in Bavaria and it is absolutely wonderful.
The staff are nice and friendly and helpful if you are unable to choose, they know the popular dishes and can recommend well.
The seating arrangements are really nice and German like. I also admire the artwork in the restaurant. The prices are moderate and affordable. I would recommend any of the sausage or pork dishes on the menu. The pork belly and pork knuckle dishes are fabulous. If you like something different, try the pan roasted duck which is delicious. The Biergarten fish dish is also delicious, which is a very well cooked ocean trout. If you like sausages and can’t pick, then try the sausage platter, filled with nice sausages, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut.
The place is accessible by transport so if you live near transport then this is recommended as parking prices in the CBD are quite high.
Overall, it was a great experience and I would heartily recommend a visit to this restaurant.

The beer is great and the pork schnitzel was authentic. We ate in the bar. Better to make a booking if you want to sit in the restaurant.

The food was extremely delicious, the staffs are very attentive and friendly. The vibe of the place was nice and the place also clean and tidy. The mushroom schnitzel, the pork schnitzel and the bratwurst were the real winner. Definitely come back again!

Been here many times, and it's been very good every time. Authentic German food. It may be a bit expensive, but for what you are getting I believe it's worth it. The portion sizes for the schnitzels are massive, and most importantly they are very delicious, especially with the sauces they offer you.

The pork knuckle dish was superb! Staff were impeccable with customer service. Overall atmosphere was fun with the live band. This was my first time at a German restaurant will definitely return

Upon entering we were handed cards, thinking they were some sort of promotional material for the restaurant we thought nothing of it. Upon sitting down at our table we realised it was from a hate group known as the proudboys.
We were appalled that Hofbrauhaus would endorse them by association and let them not only do their meet ups at their venue, but publicise themselves to other patrons.

Nice food. Great assortment of menu items. Well priced. Great atmosphere as a beer hall. Friendly staff. Great beer choices.

The place is a Melbourne institution. They do live up to their title as the original and best. Lots of hearty dishes and a great selection of beers too.

Unreal. Stayed a few nights for work. Tried a different meal each night. Was some of the best food I've eaten. Staff was exceptional and the manager was an absolute legend!
