Hodori Korean Garden reviews
48 If you’re looking for authentic and affordable Korean food I highly recommend you come to this restaurant. It’s got a very homey vibe, obviously family owned so service is a bit slow but they make up for it with their attentiveness and personal touch.
The food is hearty and fully of flavour, the serving sizes are large for the price. Despite their large menu selection each dish has a notable freshness to it and come to the table piping hot so you know it’s cooked per order.
The food was so yummy and the lady that served us was extremely nice and friendly! But when i first entered there was no one at the counter desk, and rarely any dine ins so atmosphere was a bit scary? Awkward?
Fam's favourite dine in restaurant for Korean homestyle meals for 10+ years, cash only, dare say the seasonings of hotplate bulgogi have only gotten better over the years, such as the chicken bulgogi sauce is uniquely dry but packs a great kick of spice, always go for spicy soybean stew too! Their banchan often provides a great surprise with seasonal changes too (Disclaimer: Teriyaki chicken pictured)
Food was great, however, the service is terrifying and disgusting. The waiter was extremely rude and disrespectful, throughout dinner, we asked to add side dishes and she was so impatient. The second time we had to approach her at the register to add a drink and extra dishes, she even rolled her eyes, there was no quality service whatsoever. Mind you all that she had earphones in the entire time. Like hello? !? You work in hospitality, not a DJ? !? !? When we finally got up to pay, she threw her earphones onto the table and rolled her eyes again. Maybe stay home if you’re having such a time working? I’m honestly in shock.
Service was great, if you plan on making a trip here make sure to have cash, as they only accept cash. The food was terrible we ordered spicy seafood soup with noodles, completely bland felt watered down.
We ordered from Uber, the food was good however portion was small. And they missed our items we ordered two black bean noodles and they just gave us one
Enjoying our Korea.dinner here tonight with good service from Ran.which she has been operating for the past 23 years in Clayton. We love their side dishes and we had some bbq meat, Jia Jiang Mian with spicy sweet Korean fried chicken. The spicy sweet Korean fried chicken was a bit too spicy for me.
I always like take away beef Bibimbap for lunch. Food was fantastic.
I hope set more lunch food on menu.
Had the kimchi bibimbap and beef bulgogi. The kimchi bibimbap was great and I can recommend it. The beef bulgogi was good but I would have preferred more beef over the vegetables.
Great range of Korean food from stew to table barbecue.
Very much liked the potato pancake.
They have a nice range of side dishes too.
Korean Garden has been a Clayton Establishment for as long as I remember. It’s arguably one of the oldest serving restaurants around. I finally had a chance to try it once again, and it didn’t disappoint. It’s more a traditional style Korean BBQ. Nothing fancy, nothing extravagant. Good food, spacious, and will hit the spot perfectly if you’ve got a craving for Korean BBQ. In terms of pricing, it’s on the “standard” end of Korean BBQ. The only thing you need to be aware of is, try to book, cash only (even in a pandemic) and it’s closed on some days. Overall a good and satisfying experience again. Hope it continues to serve this community for decades to come.
It was a bit hard to find because it is on top of a barber shop but the entrace is next to it. The service was really good but I was a bit disappointed that the meat was visibly frozen. Some of beef sirloin I ordered was also yellow which meant it hadn't been covered properly. It was conveniently covered by the rest of the beef sirloin. There is also a minimum order of 3 servings of meat on the weekends which we found out during our order. We did get 5 bowls of sides and the meat came with lettuce and lots of garlic. On top of that we got three dipping sauces. Overall, the food was great and affordable other than the yellow beef. Again, staff was friendly and gave some good recommendations.
Good food! Friendly staff! Found the food a bit more expensive than most other places but I guess because it is Korean it is priced that way.
Service is excellent, and the side dishes are excellent - if you're a fan of Kimchi, you've come to the right place. Also, for somewhere local in Clayton, if you're after Fried Chicken, don't bother with Clayton Road, come here instead!
Food alright but the customer service if horrible. I was at the counter waiting and a group of people arrived behind me. The staff served them first and I was left to wait. I’m sure your eyes were working fine so I’m guessing some sort of racial discrimination because I look different to them and you? Disgusting. Learn some respect. You couldn’t pay me to return.
We ordered 2 sets of pan cake, kimchi soup and non-spicy seafood tofu soup and 1 $80 bbq set. Food was absolutly tasty with amble servings. There were 8 different types of side dish. The only minus is customer service wasn't on point, which was understandable given the current restrictions.
Great hidden Korean gem. Although it looks run down from the outside you will be pleasantly surprised when you walk in. Suggest you put Hodori on the sign post too so people looking for new restaurants in the area can easily find you.
Have been here many times, this time is really disappointing, only one staff serving and service is very slow, hygiene is terrible, found hair in side dish, hot pot intestines not clean, soup is really salty, dirty wash room too, not happy: (
I have been here a two times for lunch only and on both occasions the reviews which speak to inconsistent service and food quality are mostly right. But all restaurants deserve fresh reviews. We ordered four popular meals three of which are a Korean-Chinese combination that often go together:
Jajangmyeon (자장면), also called jjajangmyeon (짜장면), is a noodle dish in a black bean sauce. Along with jjampong (짬뽕, spicy seafood noodle soup) and tangsuyuk (탕수육, sweet and sour pork or beef).
The fourth was a whole Korean fried chicken. Which is served with a choice of sauces and pickled radish
Service speed was pretty quick. The guy serving was friendly, polite and attentive.
Side dishes or pan-chan were kimchi, fermented bean srouts, pickled cucumber and seaweed, and fish cake. All were tasty and fresh.
All up were very satisfied. Meal portions were slightly smaller than Kor-chi up the road on Clayton Rd. We would return and would order all this again. We were fortunate the restaurant was not overly busy.
Good food. Good customer service. Quiet atmosphere. Food is not bad. Their soy garlic fried chicken was brilliant!
