Hinkler Books Pty Ltd reviews
14Bought 2 kits (crochet, paper flower making). Crochet was meant to be for beginners/kids.was not beginner friendly.skipped over terminology, skipped steps, failed to describe certain stitches or movements.paper flower making was advertised to 'include everything' needed to complete the activity.it didnt.it failed to mention that you need a hot glue gun.
Bought my daughter the "Incredible Earth" science kit thinking it would be really cool.nope, the materials used for the earthquake were so cheap the experiment didn't even work. The other experiments were so lame we didn't even bother to do them, everything went straight in the garbage. I will never purchase an item from this company again.
Purchased this "Paint Pouring Art Kit" for Xmas, it was a large box and looked like hours of fun. But no. Inside was just 4 bottles of paint, Glue bottle, few paddle pop mixing sticks, one small paper card and book. Box cover shows pendants, coasters, pic frame (All Misleading). Everything to learn dry pour but nothing to use it on.worthless product
I was given a puzzle (Take me to the USA) for Christmas and have been very disappointed because it has a lot of pieces missing, part of the border most of the monuments and several of the other pieces. The puzzle was new in the box and sealed in the plastic bag. This makes me rethink about using your products in the future.
Absolutely love the sticker mosaic books. So entertaining for so long and really worth it. Again, another great product.
Hinkler Books are a caring, compassionate organisation. In May when the Flemington Towers went into an immediate and hard lockdown. They reached out to Melbourne City Mission and donated a whole palette of books, arts and crafts, and puzzles to bring joy to the children.
This month, I reached out to them and asked for similar assistance for the young people staying at our Frontyard Youth Services and in hotels that we are supporting throughout the city. Instantly they said yes.
We have no commercial or other relationship with Hinkler Books, they are simply a wonderful and generous organisation that brings joy to children everywhere with everything that they do.
Purchased Hinkler PUNtastic Music jigsaw puzzle from an eBay seller that was reluctant to offer return due to time frame when originally purchased. The Hinkler puzzle was faulty from original manufacture. Hinkler was non responsive to the issue initially without having to escalate to CEO. Eventually I was provided a replacement puzzle. Very poor experience. Will not knowingly purchase their products again.
I have been fortunate to be a customer of Hinkler Books for over 10 years. My family have been entertained and educated with a vast variety of books and puzzles on offer. Great company to deal with.
The other poor reviews on here around product quality reflect the business as a whole. Thier commitment to employees and internal management culture is reflected in the product output. If you are after an employer of choice.you won't find it under the current ownership.
I have a book published by Hinkler entitled Electric Guitar by Simon Croft. The book is riddled with mistakes.
We had a minor problem with a Hinkler puzzle so I emailed the company to let them know. They sent me a replacement product straight away with a lovely note. Great service, thank you!
This review is specific to their publication of "Brain Teasers- Sudoku and other number puzzles" The book is primarily a Sudoku puzzle book.
I've just begun using it and find their "simple and moderate" levels to be mind numbing easy. These categories represent about 50% of the 200 sudokus in the book. Worst part is that the degree of difficultly to their next level, referred to as "difficult" is outrageously greater. Next levels are extreme and diabolical.expect they'll be as useless to me as were the first two!
If your kids read Hinkler books they will be great readers
There range is great artwork amazing and always publishing new exciting titles
