This school has many good and passionate teachers.
However, their facilities are less than average. They have recently built two new toilet blocks, but have reserved one of them for teachers, and the other one they keep locked most of the time. Students have to use the one that has no soap, one working sink, one working hand dryer, and with toilet cubicle doors not locking that looks like it hasn't been cleaned since the school was opened.
When I asked a teacher once, they replied that "if students continue to wreck the facilities, then we're not going to fix them".
There are very few air conditioners or heaters around the school, and the air conditioners that are in a room, they haven't even plugged in. Windows are also failing to open in some classrooms leading to children and teachers practically roasting while trying to learn/teach.
Please note if you do come to this school, though, it is almost mandatory to bring your own device as they have not replaced these netbooks for at least 6 years and many keys are missing and there are other issues, despite the technology department's valiant efforts to maintain them. To be honest, their netbooks don't even meet their own BYOD requirements.

PLEASE NOTE: The blazer ($176) is not required, girls ($69 dress/$120 winter skirt) can wear boys' uniform ($31 shirt $40 shorts $49 long pants) without consequence, and the spray jacket ($85) can only be worn during PE lessons.

I didn’t move from this school for nothing.

I first came to the school because I’d heard of the amazing music program that they had, which was very true, although that’s about the only good thing I could say about this school. There are some very passionate teachers at this school, and ones that act as if they want to get their students into trouble. Many of the students here are nice and caring students, but there are some that enjoy getting others into hard positions so that they are almost doomed to get into trouble and there is almost no way out of it. If the teachers here really cared, surely they would have done something about it.

Some teachers at Highvale aren't very good and some are good. The facilities aren't that great especially the ones the PORTABLES! 75% of them don't have AC's and heaters! Some Students don't respect the teachers. The school is very messy, always rubbish around the school, and the uniform makes every student look like a tree.
However they have an amazing Music Program

There are only a few teachers left who care about their students. The others? It seems the only thing they care about is their paycheques. And they make our school seem better than it really is. A multi-million dollar upgrade? Tell them to install soap dispensers in our student bathrooms first. And how are we students meant to get things done with netbooks with missing keys that take half an hour to boot? The BYOD program may be their defence, but what they don't realise is that many students don't have access to an eligible device. Why don't they offer decent laptops for hire? Some teachers swear in front of their students and have a dishevelled and unkempt appearance with disgusting piercings in their mouths, ears and noses. They don't care whether their students shout vulgar words in classes and steal and damage other's property. It's pretty much a place filled with future criminals, with the few good students and perhaps teachers suffering in this hellhole. It's no wonder that so many good classmates and friends of mine have left this school. In my opinion, this school can't teach anything except maths and science.

Toilets need alot of cleaning so do most of the school.
Need less time in class for only writing down homework than just teaching students the things they need to know for Exams and Essays.
People may experince bad behavior and swearing going around also bullying!
Overall this Highschool is average

A heap of refuse disguised as a school. There is even a Herald Sun article that outlines the repugnant faults of the school, from the eyes of an outsider. However, even the article can't report the many faults deep inside the school. There is no discipline. Although parents are largely responsible for teaching their kids discipline, schools have a large responsibility too. Myriads of students commit appalling behaviours on school grounds. There is no such thing as etiquette in this school. Even rudimentary school rules like the uniform policy aren't enforced to a satisfactory degree. Phones get stolen in changing rooms. Newly built and malleable concrete slabs are pounded on by reckless and undisciplined students. The same students shout vulgar words in middle of classes, graffiti and damage school and others' property. They think the environment is a rubbish bin. What do they teachers, staff and the principal do? Nothing. Nothing to discipline these students and to teach them at least basic values of respect and morality. Some teachers occasionally even blurt out vulgar words in classes. Some of the staff are very uneducated and not fit for work in a school, a place of teaching and learning. How do they expect students to learn if the school internet is so consistently unreliable, and the long-outdated netbooks used in classes take an eternity to boot up? Not even the air conditioners and heaters work in some of the classrooms. You cannot call this a place of learning. So many students suffer in this school. They don't learn. Yet the principal, staff and teachers put only and exiguous amount of effort into making this school even a slightly more bearable place to be.
