Higher Ground reviews
39We had coffee at Higher Ground and sat outside in the sunshine. Even though they were busy our coffees were served promptly. The Lattes were nice, but the Espresso and Cold Filter were only half filled, considering the glass is small to start with they could have topped it up. All four coffees were nice though, it was my first visit but I'll go back again.
Ripped off completely today.two toasted sandwiches and changed $31. For that price you would expect a magnificent sandwich but no.just a very ordinary toasted sandwich that you would find for under five dollars in any other cafe.
Disappointing as customers don't need social distancing and staff do not disapprove of that. I won't go back again
Coffee was a bit yuck. I won't be trying it a 3rd time. Theres a few other (better) cafe's close by.
I want to thank the staff here for making fun of me for asking about which soy milk they used as they talked about me after making an order. Was just trying to ask a question but I suppose it seemed what they referred to as "stupid" and "pointless". I'm not giving them a bad rating as I don't think the restaurant should suffer because of poor staff
Consistent quality coffee. Easy to get in and out when in a hurry and a nice place to sit & enjoy the flavours when time permits
Personally I think it’s the best coffee in Mount Martha!
Excellent selection of cakes/sweets and muffins are always fantastic; baked fresh and served with cream which is a nice touch. Other meals are very good. No hipsters here. Just overall high quality coffee and food with extra attention to detail.
Easily within top 3 cafes in Mornington/Mt Martha for coffee (and the muffins aren't too shabby either).
Beautiful selection of house made treats, along with delicious coffee. I've found my local 'go to' coffee palace.
Ordered a standard long black for takeaway, only to discover the cup was only half full, absolute ripoff
Great coffee. Chia pudding and choc gluten and dairy free are really good. Well done on bring dairy free onto the menu.
Love the food here & although it’s on the back car park the atmosphere is still great. Definitely will keep coming back when in the area
Me “hi, I would like an ice late with soy to have here please”. I sit down at a table. Waitress delivers paper cup ‘here you go’. Me “oh, I ordered a ice late to have here’ her ‘yes this is it’ me ‘is it soy’ her ‘I don’t know’. Me ‘can you check’ her ‘oh ok’. I ended up with the wrong coffee with staff determine it was mine. Not a pleasant experience at all. Go to one of the other 15 coffee places in my Martha. There is nothing special here although coffee was fine.
Good coffee to get for takeaway but service is less than impressive with very disinterested workers. We sat at the table and had three different workers standing around but they didn't even bother to tell us we need to order at register.
Coffee was good and the almond croissant was ok but the salmon on the smoked salmon bagel tasted old and fishy. The chef apologized and cheerfully refunded my money.
Enjoying the coffee and my ORANGE soup. Soul and stomach filled. This is a great experience with very staff. I am sure to return for another experience.
Eat here with my meditation group, very helpful staff, fresh food, they are great at accomodating special requests
Visited at peak time on Saturday morning. Coffee was good (long black), milkshake was good value, and the food was the highlight. We ordered the waffles and the pea and halloumi fritters and they were both excellent. The letdown was the service or more to the point the order taker. They entered the wrong table number so our order got misdirected. To their credit they promptly fixed this, however they proceeded to deliver the wrong quantity of food and drinks to the table. This also was fixed promptly. The thing that disappointed me most was there was no formal apology. Yes they were busy but I expected better service.
Had breakfast there twice with my children and thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered. The coffee was excellent however would be better if it were a little hotter as it was served lukewarm on both occasions. Also an idea to perhaps serve it with the meal rather than before otherwise great little cafe. Will return again.
