Great, friendly service from the bar staff. Lovely gluten free food. Glad we chose to share.

Fabulous fried chicken with so so much flavour and (optional) so so much heat! It's really nice to get something that has heat while also being flavourful.

It's really nice to see a 100% gluten free business spend so much time innovating and going back to basics making their own products. The burger buns are made in house and they are superb, honestly no one would know they are gf.

Safe for coeliacs and satisfying for all, it's also got a decent amount of vegan alternatives on the menu. Handy if you've got pals with multiple needs.

The only thing I wouldn't recommend was the sweet potato fries. As my friend put it, "there's no joy". It's a personal taste, nothing wrong with them but they ain't good chips!

Omg, but do get the cheese curds. They are delicious. I sent a photo to my Wisconsin pal and she said they look better than what she gets there

Hesi Jimbo is an 100% gluten free delicious pub style kitchen (run from Merri Bar) Food was incredible, felt completely safe eating there as a coeliac. Staff are incredibly knowledgeable about coeliac disease and making great gluten free food! Eat here with confidence! My non gluten free partner also loved their Spicy parma, wings and donuts! The Merri bar attached also sell TwoBays gluten free beer and other delicious drinks! Could not recommend this place more!

Do these guys make the best chicken parmie in Melbourne? I’ve not tried them all but I wouldn’t be surprised. Go try for yourself

Not only the best gluten free fried chicken in Melbourne, Hesi Jimbo just do the best fried chicken, hands down, full stop, period. Their entire mouth watering menu is gluten free and coeliac safe. I have no issues consuming gluten but I go to Hesi Jimbo at Merri Bar time and time again for their food. My foodie coeliac sister swears Hesi are second to none for GF food in Melbourne. Their donuts are also to die for. Have you seen GF donuts generally? They are usually a sad, withered affair, but NOT these donuts! I was lucky enough to get some custom donuts made by Hesi Jimbo for a party and they were devoured in minutes. No one could believe they were gluten free. I can’t verify these chefs don’t do some sort of sorcery in their kitchen, but I can verify that they are the friendliest staff and make incredible food day in and day out. Do yourself a favour and go find them at Merri Bar or look for their food truck, you won’t regret it!

I had the hot chicken burger and it was AMAZING!

As a gluten eater, I usually dread eating GF bread (let’s face it - GF ‘white bread’ is usually the texture of either an old sponge or cardboard), but I genuinely loved the bun and it tasted like a beautiful rich brioche The chicken itself was delicious and juicy. Will definitely be coming back!

Crispy fried chicken, really delicious sauces, and very well done sweet potato fries. They've perfected the batter - can't even tell it's GF.

My daughter who is coeliac asked to go her for a midweek birthday dinner. However, this is not just for the gluten-intolerant. Anyone who has had Nashville fried chicken will love the authentic flavours at Hesi Jimbo. Real southern chicken, super friendly kitchen in a family friendly bar. Just delicious.

HOLY GOD THE LEMON PEPPER WINGS ARE SO TASTY! We had the buffalo Parma, the lemon pepper wings, fried okra and cheese curds and everything was so delicious! If you can handle the heat, I highly recommend the very hot sauce! Can’t wait to come back for more.

EVERYTHING IS GLUTEN FREE! The owner is coeliac, so everything is prepared in a 100% GF truck. The Wagyu beef meatloaf was the best meatloaf we've ever had. Cheese curds were breaded and not too chewy. Mac and cheese ball was hot and stretchy. The fried chicken was drool-worthy - ended up getting the hot whichbwas perfect for a wuss like me but they have up to 5 x hotttt. Highly recommend

The staff were super friendly and the food was great (sothern US style). Moderate price for what you got, but overall fabulous food! I even got a free ice tea and a brownie to give to mum! Well done fellas and i sincerely wish you guys the best bravo 5/5

Excellent food and service, with a lot of flavor and at a good price. I loved the fried cheese and the cornbread. I will continue trying the rest of the menu and I will surely repeat the dish I ate today.

Delicious lunch, just like being back home in the south of the USA except better. Do yourself a favour and try the mac & cheese, best in Melb! The plates are huge, plenty of sides and even comes with sweet tea. Not sure you can find a better deal around for some seriously amazing food by lovely humans.

Best gluten free fried chicken and mac and cheese I’ve ever tasted! Everything was delicious and service was quick ask for their special salads and sweet tea you won’t regret it! Best addition to the river walk and playground for the little ones!
