Henry Carus & Associates

On the 11th of August 2021 & while listening to Henry Carus trawling his commercial across the chanels of radio & tv, I thought to myself I have a personal injury so perhaps he might be in a position to help me.

So I gave the local office a call at Brighton & was put through to what I assume was a paralegeal.

She introduces herself & begins to ask me about my health & then a series of questions pertaining to my injuries.

Openly & honestly I reply & explain that my injury is historic & before I was prepared to answer her questions, I had one of my own.

My question was.is there a statute of limitations on historic injuries (not that difficult for a law firm one would imagine) & for one reason or another, it remained unclear to me as to why she decided to ignore it & continue with her line of inquiry.

I relented given that I thought I would have another opportunity at some point, but as it happens never at any time did I think that my question would be deemed inappropriate under the circumstances, but more about that later.

I tried to be as thorough as I could given the limited time you get in the initial consultation whilst thinking as we spoke & with tongie in cheek that I agreed with Henry that I do deserve more. (What a croc)

Now my issue was that I broke my leg (in 8 places) after a fall from a height of 6 metres hitting a concrete floor in a work place accident.

Ok let's recap. I was in my workplace, check. I had an accident, check. I suffered a horrific injury where amputatation was recommended, check. Seek a personal injury lawyer, check. Call Henry Carus (a personal injury lawyer) check.

You would think that the obvious course of action would be that given all the elements of this proposal were factual & verifiable, & above all so much more needed to be said & whilst I was explaining the events with such clarity as if it had happened yesterday, I had also felt as though I was not getting through to her or perhaps I wasn't playing the game by her rules.

Now where I come from, information is paramount & without it all you have left is a dim view.

I'm then informed that while I was in mid-sentence that she would speak to someone about this, but I say again I was in mid-sentence & understandably may have missed some of what she was saying & suffice to say that I would be notified in due course.

Suprisingly about 24hrs later I recieve a call (while all the time thinking that I had been blown off), Rachael calls to make it official (that I was being blown off) without rhyme or reason & with all the disingenuous rhetoric that is typically mustered in such situations & with words like thank you & sincerely she offers to send me an email with the phone number to contact the Law Institute of Victoria (or LIV) to see if they could help.

Now I thought before I called LIV that I would try once more & ask given she failed to answer my question the first time, however this time in an email.is there a statute of limitations on historic injuries which for all intents & purposes is basically a Yes or No answer, but to Henry Carus & Associates this is deemed as legal advice so it cannot be offered to those who are not a client.

I don't want to come across as a conspiracy theorist or bring up the recent scandals that litter this industry, but suffice to say that they spend thousands of dollars in advertising their expertise, offering a so called free consultation asking people to unburden themselves to the possibility of an adverse finding then ushering them out with the type of tact normally reserved for an inquisition.

It is a misnomer to call it a free consultation when advice isn't forthcoming, moreover it is dishonest to infer that it is particularly when the findings are negative which in itself should constitutes false advertising, but clearly Henry Carus & Associates have an apposing view where at least I am concerned.

Finally I can't say that I am surprised to be treated so shamefully when I may have had a different view if I was warned that my claim may have been denied.

One of the most disorderly and rude lawyers and staff that can be mentioned works in this office, which twice wasted my time with complete rudeness. The first time I was invited to meet from the farthest point of Melbourne, an hour and a half drive away, and the interesting thing is that the receptionist and the secretaries did not know if Mr. Finn's lawyer was in the office, and more interestingly, they never made an appointment for me. Many phone calls and phone messages and emails that your time is set at 12: 30 on this date (22/23/22) and unfortunately I did not receive any phone call at that time and after a few hours I was called and completely rude I am told that we gave your time to someone else and set another time for you. If you sign a contract with this law firm, I have to tell you that you lost the game

Horrible place. Buries you in paperwork, pressures you for more surgery (even though your medicals said no), doesn't listen to your initial request. Do not go to this hell hole of a place, I can not even comprehend how anyone would give this place more than 1*.

hardly having any contact with this firm unless my wife contacted them in which time it may take months and months to get back to her
she had big doubts of this firm acting for her even Henry Caruse's intern has told me and my wife it would have to be up to Henry if he accepts the case as we were told he wont accept it unless he can win this case
but after every thing said and done, it was difficult nearly 2 years on
he decided to let my wife go
My wife had done everything they ask her to do as in doctors appointments in which one doctor agreed that was representing the firm regarding her injury will said it will get worse as its deteriorating
one minute they tell my wife to go into the medical board to get assessed by the independent medical doctors and then the other it may be canceled due but lack of information they have in reports xrays
and other information but i still attended, after 6 weeks i found out that i still have to go back in 2020 by a email and my lawyers new about this 3 weeks prier to my email which i told my wife about, as i was told its not stable enough for a decision
As because my wife was not told from the lawyers them selves i told my wife my self
there unreliable, they don't give you the encouragement you need to continue on, they give you the wrong advise

It was June 25,2017 i brought my wife to this firm which was the wrong thing to do clearly, nearly 2 years on this firm did hardly anything for her, they never kept her informed about the progress of the claim, you have to email them regarding your case and which time it may take 2 to 3 weeks to get back to you,

they go over you and do things that is relevant to your case with out informing you about what there going to do next, and here is the biggest breech they give your contact information to the opposition lawyers with out your knowledge
there adds don't mean nothing to me because they say there fighting for you and your compensation matters
that is bs.they only care about there pockets there no better then politicians and bankers, all bunch of robbers

my ending statement i would stay away from Henry Carus & Associates there not fighting for you but them selves

And not to mention you sold my wife out by communicating with the opposition that was representing her fitzone that my wife doesn't have any legal rights to compensation

Double standards can get you disbarred

Henry and his staff are the best lawyers in Melbourne. You can see by the other reviews across the web that he is truly dedicated to helping others. The bad reviews seem to be fake. Take a look at how dedicated Henry is by looking at his replies on each review.

I cannot speak more highly of Henry Carus, Eliza Tan and all the staff at Henry Carus and Associates.
My initial contact was with Eliza Tan and from the first moment I felt supported. She was friendly, extremely empathetic, willing to answer difficult questions and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. After a short time it became apparent that she really did care about the outcome of my case and I felt very comfortable in her expert care.
In the latter stages of my case I met with Henry. He was extremely personable and had extensive knowledge and experience in the Insurance Industry.
Together Henry and Eliza make a dynamic team and their experience, knowledge and professionalism are an asset to any client.

Criminals hiding behind law degrees. They are robbers and cheaters. They take your money away and do nothing (quite literally nothing).

When I noticed nothing was happening, it was just consistent excuses after excuses. I eventually marched in to cancel my case and was told I would be refunded. I NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN.

Edit: don't be fooled by this response - they just want to avoid giving me my refund by deleting my reviews as well. I will just go to the Ombudsman and see how well you can avoid that.

Worst bunch of scum bags in Melbourne. The so called lawyers took no effort to understand my situation and Caroline in particular was missing for the majority of time. Others were not of particular use, guess my matter use bottom of the pile somehow.

Don't waste your time with this sorry excuse of a law firm.

Had heard great things about this firm on TV and tried to enquire a visit for a possible claim to the Brighton office since I live around the area.

They were not contactable via phone (left several messages and no response back) so thought I'd visit on the Friday arfo during lunch period. Office was locked and noone available at reception!

Guess they have no more room for clients given their lack of response. Unsure who is to blame but they clearly don't want any more business.
