Henkel Street Cinema reviews
16Absolutely amazing, the cinemas are so great, it's affordable and they're so flexible and supportive with whatever plan you have. Definitely recommend
Absolutely superb! Highly recommend this beautiful private cinema. Lovely staff, great pizza, & gorgeous little theatre spaces - had a well-enjoyed outing for our eldest son’s 12th bday celebrations. Definitely will be back!
I was invited to a friend's birthday party a couple of weeks back and it was THE BEST experience ever. The cinema was gorgeous, immaculately clean and had a vintage, speakeasy vibe. We ordered pizza and to my vegan friend's delight, there were a myriad of delicious options to choose from. We had such a good time that I'm already planning my birthday, my daughter's birthday and my friend's party to be here. Jack, the owner, also hosted us that night and was so welcoming and accommodating of all our questions. I'd definitely recommend chatting to him directly if you have a particular event in mind.
I would NOT recommend this venue because they failed to honour a booking we made 5 months in advance.
We initially booked this venue in July for a friend's birthday celebration in December. However, just two weeks before the party, the owner contacted us to cancel our pre-paid reservation. They explained that they received another booking for the same time and claimed the other client was unwilling to change. Despite offering us an alternative time slot and an additional half hour, we were disappointed as we had planned this event for months. It seemed unfair that they couldn't honour our original booking and instead blamed it on the other client. We requested a refund, which the business promptly provided. However, we were surprised that they only apologised that we weren't willing to change times - not for their actions. After all, they were unwilling to honour our initial reservation.
During our communication with the venue, we discovered the conflicting booking was for a children's party - which they would make more money from. I'm uncertain if this influenced their decision to prioritise the other customer, despite our booking 5 months in advance.
Visited with a friend and immediately booked to come back. Such a good idea for a group event. Jack was super friendly and accommodating. Good food.
This place is awesome. You get your own cinema for two hours and you pick what you want to watch. Up to 18 people with Comfy chairs great sound and movie quality.
We had my ten year olds birthday at Henkel Street Cinema. They got pizza, popcorn and private cinema and had an absolute ball! The team were friendly, professional and genuinely love creating a cinematic experience for audiences.
I screened a trilogy of my features here on one fabulous Sunday afternoon: Innuendo, Westermarck Effect and The Lies We Tell Ourselves almost back to back. We did take some time in between to appreciate the pizzas and Crème brûlées by Jack White, as well as the cosy Foreigner brewing company next door.
The premises are comfortable, very suitable for boutique screenings, catering was amazing and owner very helpful and friendly. Thank you, I and my crew will be back.
Best wishes, Saara Lamberg, film director
Fabulous Private "To Rent' Theatrette. Large Comfy seats. Popcorn and some Pizza thrown in via the Fee (I believe.) Just BYO Movie and invite your friends and/or those you're trying to impress or whom u want to invest.
I organised a babes in arms session here with my parent group. It was so lovely to have our own private cinema. Jack was so incredibly accommodating and helpful. We'll definitely be back (with and without babies!). Highly recommend this place!
A Brunswick gem. Inside is stunning and cosy with delicious pizzas on offer. Loads of parking. I'm actually never going to be able to go to a regular cinema again.
What a ripper of a venue! All of the nostalgia of the cinematic experience of your youth (if you were lucky enough to grow up before Netflix) - a red carpet experience for whatever it is you wish to roll out the red carpet for! An exceptional excuse to dive into the VHS archive and revisit a masterpiece, or premiere your very own. Bloody brilliant champs! Will be back for more popcorn and memories!
I had my birthday celebration here and it was fabulous! Such a great space, great service and delicious pizzas. The creme brulee was a highlight! Can highly recommend.
The best cinema experience I’ve ever had! Can’t recommend this place highly enough. I’ll never go to a different cinema again!
Such a great space! Amazing service, well organised and good communication. Very well priced. Highly recommended!
What an amazing experience! So intimate and welcoming. The perfect mix of watching a quick flick at home on the couch and the glitz, popcorn and glamour of the cinema. Oh and don't get me started on the pizza!
