I'm a regular visitor to this op shop. Myself and friends shop and have lunch each Wednesday.
The kitchen staff are lovely and food is great. We thoroughly enjoy it.

The downside is the counter staff, especially one but not sure of her name. Refuses to give receipt unless it's an electrical.
Also told my friend who's had a stroke to not interrupt her when she asked the price of shoes she was buying then hurried her off and called next customer.
Due to a stroke she is not able to pack her bag quickly. Very poor service and lack of support.

Kelly who comes across bubbly and happy by singing aloud is also very rude and
Will never accomodate your needs. My friend asked for a discount as she's no longer able to work due to the stroke was told "No we will not encourage that & we're trying to find money to move buildings"
How is this a helping hand organisation?
The amount of money they receive from donations is enormous.
Im very disappointed with such lack of care and support for the needy.

The price of furniture is absurd and do not dare ask for a discount.

I LOVE this op shop. It's one of the best priced in Melbourne that I've found. An amazingly huge selection of anything you could imagine, and the stock rotates frequently. The shop smells amazing at lunch time as they serve up cheap meals for those in need everyday. Please support this shop

This place is huge with wide variety of things that are very affordable prices, as how a thrift shop should be.
Other op shops nowadays are sadly way overpriced. The staff today at the counter are 2 young ladies, smiling, pleasant and with good manners.

One of the largest op shops I have ever been to, this store has everything.

Normal clothing starts from $2 and I have purchased several tops for $2 and dresses for $4.

There are seperate racks for brand new clothing with tags. There is also a separate “boutique” section for higher end clothing, which is still reasonable priced.

I purchased a gorgeous linen Zara blazer which looked unworn. I also bought brand new unworn Nine West pumps, still in the original box, for $20.

I have also purchased framed art from here as well as furniture and small electricals. Plenty of staff are around to assist.

Parking can be difficult on Saturdays so I recommend parking in the street a bit further along, which is where their sister op shop is, and walking the short distance.

The only disappointing thing is the store isn’t open on Sundays…but understand everyone needs a day off!

Helping hands is one of the best opshops I have ever been to. The staff there generally want to help you. Not only is it an opshop of clothes, but there is also homewares, books, beds, kitchenware and anything else. You name it and chances are that Helping hands will have it.

Recently added is the woman's boutique section and a small stall area. Helping hands also has a food bank on site to help those in need, a dining room for lunch and a vintage store around the back. More often than not there will be crates of food at the front door for the general public.

If you are keen on opshops or just want to go see one to see what the fuss is about, you cannot go past Helping Hands

I've been to a lot of op shops, and after the first visit this shop became my favourite. The people working are nice, there is a huge amount of variety with great prices, and there isn't as huge a focus on making a profit as there is making a positive change. When you're done shopping, lunch served from 12.00-2.00 is delicious and only $3! You won't find another place like this anywhere else.

Best thrift store / op shop I've been to. The variety is astounding and the prices are the cheapest around. There is never a time I leave this building empty-handed.

Amazing stuff, friendly staff and great bargains. Always seem to find something to go home with when visiting Helping hands. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff and there is always something new to see every visit. BEST op shop with value for money.

I had fun looking for costumes for book week. The stuff did a fantastic job at organising the store. I find this place so organised and plenty of good items to choose from.
It's small area, it can get crowded easily. But it's well organised and the stuff are working hard to make the place clean and tidy.
Lots of Great furnitures, baby and kids stuff items, household goods ect.
Not alot of parking so we always park a bit far and have a good walk. It's worth going to this shop.
Thank you.

My favourite OP Shop. A great selection of items at a good price. But the main thing is that you can actually see where you money goes. There is a food pantry for people to buy basic food items at a discounted price. There is a small cafeteria that serves a hot lunch for a gold coin donation. Well done to Helping Hands for look after people who just need a "Helping Hand"
