Hector's Deli

This is the best toastie i’ve tried. Ordered the Beef & Pickles of course with cheese and hectic sauce and Mushroom Melt. The crispy crust and rich sauce make the toast so delicious. The ingredients were also fresh and high quality. Will be back to try out other sandwiches.

Who does a sandwich without cheese or sauce and let's you pay $2 extra for each? Sandwich ends up being around $20? !? ! Total rip off.glad they didn't ask me to pay extra for the bread too

Coffee is great. The best coffee in the world! Sandwiches that are average or below average.

Stopped by for lunch after a shop at South Melbourne Market. Does get busy and it’s a little tight but it adds to the busy diner atmosphere. Open kitchen so if you get a seat at the counter you get to see all the action. We had the HCT (ham cheese tomato) and the beef and pickles, with some chips. Sandwiches are really fresh and generous. Would like to try the tuna melt next time!

Heard a lot about their beef pickles sandwich but personally i prefer the rare beef sandwich more.went there during weekends it was crowded, we had to wait half an hour for a seat and had to share a table with others.

Great staff, a bit of a wait but well worth it. I tried the pastrami, rare beef and schnitzel. Everything was excellent except the chicken schnitzel, bread was strange and non enjoyable. But worth coming to for everything else.

Everything I ordered were extremely salty! To the next level salty! Asked the waitstaff to pass the feedback to the cooks, in return no single explanation was given why the food were unbearably salty but couple of giggles and smirks and no single ‘sorry’ at all. Unbelievable.

It's a very small yet busy shop. My beef & pickle sandwich tasted great and I thought it was worth the price. Unfortunately, it was too salty for me, so I won't be returning too often.

I think the most delicious mushroom toast, every time I come to south mel will buy one to eat.

My love of a great ‘sandwich’ was more than satisfied by Hectors Deli! They’re generous in portions and the flavour combinations are perfection!

Never thought I would willingly go out of my way to eat pickles with anything but the beef and pickle sandwich just make sense? ! Got the iced mocha and it was great with the sandwich. Went on a Saturday so it was quite packed, but honestly so worth

So good! We ordered a beef and pickles sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. They also have a Marzocco coffee machine and their coffee is really aromatic. Highly recommend!

Good sandwiches but super poor service. Pre-ordered online but have to wait 15 minutes outside to pick up the order. The sandwich was ready but the girl just refused to give it to me. I had only 30 minutes lunchtime and was late for work.

I dined with a family member with anaphylaxis allergy to dairy. The staff member at the counter was reassuring about leaving out the dairy containing dressings when we informed them of the dairy allergy but failed to mention that the bread is slathered in butter. Fortunately my family member is ok but there was little to no apology or recognition of the potentially life threatening mistake. This disregard is the most concerning part of all. If you have food allergies or any dietary restriction do not eat here because it is not safe. There are plenty of other restaurants where care and concern is given to the customers.

Came in at 1: 40. Two sandwich options left. Seriously? Guys do better. Its a chicken sandwich, it can't be that hard to make a few more!

25 mins wait for one sandwich during off peak hours and zero customer service.

AMAZING! A beef and pickles sandwich with hector sauce is soooooo goooood. Coffee is great too!
