Hecho en Mexico Warrnambool

The restaurant accepted a booking for New Years Day which was for a special occasion. When we arrived the place was closed. No contact from the venue. Put our plans in disarray. Sorry can’t comment on the food. Will be looking forward to eating here at some stage.

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely meal here, the tacos were very nice and my wife enjoyed the fajitas. Our host Cadence was friendly and very attentive. We would recommend this restaurant.

Best place to dine in Warrnambool. Genuinely good customer service (we arrived close to the store closing time and yet they were so patient and cheerful, Thanks Kim and team). Will definitely come again soon with my friends.

NO WATER. We visited Hecho en Mexico while on holiday and travelling though Warnambool. It was a Monday and not much was open, we were pleased to see the Mexican open. Service over all was good and the food was nice.

What was surprising is that we were refused a glass of water. This was due to their covid policy as they ‘needed to keep both the staff and customer safe’.

We proceed to order 2 margarita’s without issue, they came in a glass. I asked again for water and was told no. I asked why as I believed a venue had to provide water if they provide alcohol. He replied ‘well yes we do but we are not tonight’ I then pointed at 2 glasses of water on another table and he said ‘ well now you have seen that I’ll get you some’, no water arrived.

I’m just confused. If a Margarita in a glass is safe, why isn’t water? I would have understood if there was a no glasses policy, if it was all sealed containers, but the fact they would give us alcohol in a glass but not water baffled me.

To my surprise walking past the restaurant the next night there was bottles of water on every table

I’m not sure if this was a random decision from the staff on the night or who told them to do this but overall very unusual. I totally understand times are tough and venues need to adapt the way they operate but this seemed like a very odd call. Who refuses to give you water? !

We finished our spa and headed here and every item we ordered were so amazing and the best customer experience we have ever received. We came during closing time and they were serving with absolute satisfaction. As myself working in a restaurant I know how hard it will be to serve at that time.

I’ve tried lots of Mexican food around Melbourne and nothing comes close to Hecho en Mexico Warrnambool. This has to be the freshest, tastiest, most authentic Mexican food I’ve ever had. This really is something else! You have to come here and try it for yourself! Fantastic, highly recommended!

Amazing food and even better staff. Even though they were short staffed due to covid and had a full house, every staff member had a great attitude and a warm smile. Cadense was our server and she was top notch with her customer service. Will highly recommend this if you are in Warranambool. Try the sizzling brownie for dessert.

Mouthwatering food, awesome service and delicious taste - this is the best place where you can enjoy your weekend and feel relax. Everyone must go and specially try brownie with ice cream.yummm!

Amazing food! Great cocktails! Super lovely staff! Can see they are still working out the kinks being new but the great staff like our waitress Annmaree who went above and beyond plus the floorless food made it all worth it
