Hecho en Mexico

Delicious food. My husband had the chicken and prawn paella that came out sizzling hot and was delicious. I had the 3 tacos and a guava juice. Waiters were lovely. We went on a Monday night so it was a bit quiet but loved it just the same.

The food and cocktails here are #chefskiss delicious. The customer service is also next level. I ordered takeaway. I asked for a substitute due to a dairy intolerance. They made the food as I asked and then gave me a handwritten note!

Ordered Pambazo today and it was really bad in shape and taste. I have had pambazo before at various other places and I am aware of how it’s supposed to be. This one was not even edible. The bread was so soggy that the structure of ingredients and bread was all messed up. The taste was old with literally raw potato in it. I have had food at this place so many times before and we have had a decent experience every single time but today it was so disappointing.

The staff is very friendly especially Amina and Tatiana.

Spontaneous dinner date and it did not disappoint! We ordered so much, and every single thing was delicious! 5 big meals between us 2, safe to say, we smashed it all. Atmosphere was vibey, music was on point, always love some reggaeton. Service was exceptional, super welcoming and attentive - especially our waiter Oswaldo! If you get him, you won’t be disappointed! Been here when it first open and food has been consistent! Highly recommended!

Very disappointed. The food was average and was not hot enough. Asked to reheat the starter. The main course later arrived and it was cold as well. Wouldn’t be going again.

Have eaten here several times when visiting the area, and can attest that the restaurant itself is dirty, avoid looking at the walls as they are visible stained with sauce, pen markings and other things. The paintings adorning the walls are also dusty.
The toilet is outside, right next to the outdoor eating area (eww) so felt like I had an audience as I went to the loo - which had wee on the floor, and the sink had corn in it.weird.
The food was fine, but overpriced for what it was, and the state of the venue.
This most recent visit was probably our last as its just not pleasant to visit a dirty restaurant. If the eating area is messy, what condition can you surmise the kitchen is in?

Worst enchiladas ever… just a chewy wrap with tasteless plain beans… not even salt for seasoning let alone anything else… I have had burritos warmer than this enchiladas… rice and beans served with are also so cold straight from the fridge and totally tasteless… worst mexican food I have ever had… never again

Really tasty classic margaritas, and the food is tasty and an elevated version of the Mexican you usually get around Melbourne. I highly recommend Hecho en Mexico.

Great service, excellent food and the place had a great atmosphere. Also very clean. A must to visit again.

Staff were lovely, fun little place, food was nice.however I just found it could have been more flavoursome.

My sis who's lived in Mexico rates this Faves of the night were the Chilli fries $15 and Chimichanga $22, flavours were on point and authentic. There was wide variety on the menu and great for sharing.

We came to try the new range of Mezcalitas made with Mezcal 400 Conejos - Mexico's # 1 Mezcal. Both drinks we had were refreshing and paired well with the meal.

Food was amazing. Must try chicken taco. Only reason for 4 star instead of 5 is because of price. It was very expensive and if it was cheaper it would attract more people.

The only Mexican restaurant in Melbourne that tastes like actually Mexican food. Lovely staff and vibe too. Can't beat that chorizo taco.

Celiacs should check carefully. Items on the menu were mislabelled "Gluten Free". When food arrived, the chicken was breaded and unsafe to eat. Staff unaware of the problem until it was pointed-out. The same error on the online menu and on Menulog.
Update 1 week later: review raised from 1/5 to 4/5 based on fast refund, genuine concern for the error and excellent service from staff at the Carnegie restaurant.
As always, anyone with a significant allergy should check with the kitchen before ordering. That's on me.

Always great portion sizes, great service and food comes out so quickly. They also accommodated for our huge 17 person booking!

Got uber eats from here the burger arrived cold and tasted off. With a diffrent bun than usual
