My mums appointment is at 1: 15pm, 1 sep 2023 but we were told it will be at 2pm. But still we had to wait. My mum is 91 years old. Receptionist should give me the correct time. I'm not happy and the receptionistbare not friendly.mostly frowning. Sorry but it's true

I actually can’t believe the experience I received this morning from the practice manager of this clinic. I wouldn’t even give one star if I could.

I made a mistake of forgetting to pick up the heart monitor and bringing it back for my echo appointment the next day. I understand this is annoying and completely inconvenient. I owned my mistake. I live over an hour away, I have two young children, both who are unwell, so lack of sleep and being on my own, rushing to get to my echo appointment, meant I just completely forgot. I got my children looked after whilst I went to get the echo but could only do so for the appointment. I had to take them both to doctors after and get them back home due to being so unwell.

I explained this to the practise manager, I apologised and said I know I made a mistake however, I was just asking for a bit of understanding. She proceeded to rudely tell me there was nothing that could be done and they needed it back asap. I was willing to bring it first thing Monday morning as I had help with my children then. There was absolutely NO understanding from her. She said to me I’ve made a mistake so I now need to fix it, in a condescending tone, like I’m a child! Then she said “well do you want people with appointments to miss out on getting their heart checked? ” How disgusting, and inappropriate she says that to a mother who just made a simple mistake. If I was 10 minutes down the road absolutely I would have gone it got it but I’m a two hour round trip with sick children. She said I need it by 2pm today but you’ll need to pay the late fee. So I go and correct my mistake and then also have to pay the late fee? Is she joking? I’m not paying for a simple mistake and I don’t have the money to either. She also rudely went and printed off the late form which I did sign the day before. I knew I had made the mistake but once again I was just asking for a bit of understanding. I do not believe that someone will have to miss an appointment because I didn’t bring my heart monitor back. I’ve worked in the industry and I know there are spare ones in these instances. They are very expensive, I understand, but I’m not keeping it, I’m just asking to come back on Monday.

I actually just don’t understand how some people are so dismissive and not understanding at all. If I didn’t bring it Monday then yes, charge me a late fee and be rude but have some common decency for people who are struggling. This has literally sent me over the edge.

On top of all this I was unable to get my echo because I just couldn’t handle the stress of this women being so rude and dismissive. If there is an issue with my heart, she surely hasn’t helped. You would think the practice manager would have better people skills and know how to deal with issues in a respectful manner. I’ll never step foot in here again.

**Unfortunately the staff have also decided to lie and say they told me I could put the machine in a taxi or Uber. If that was offered to me, I would done that, no problem. I’m not here to cause issues, I just wanted my heart checked. I’m not putting my time or energy into this anymore but to experience that type of treatment and then to have them lie, it’s honestly a joke of a clinic. **

The reviews here do not surprise me. I had a referral sent in my Doctor and was told THEY would contact me. After months of not hearing anything, l spoke to my Doctor and a second referral was sent. After nit hearing from them again, l rang, only to be told, quite abruptly, that the Doctor will ring back. I have waited two years, so l think l will be getting a referral to a different clinic. Fortunately, my situation is for a sleep issue, nota heart condition.

Partner had an appointment there, waited approx 4 weeks for appointment to start with. Dr that was working was very helpful but reception / call Centre are quite the opposite, waiting on hold for over 20Mins when i was told i was first in the que.once my call was answered the gentleman was very rude and told me he would be transferring me to another department. Once i was transferred I was on hold for another 15Mins, then to just be hung up on.
Called again and spoke to same gentleman that ended up rescheduling the appointment but make it seem as though it was an issue.
Not happy with customer service at all.

When a made a booking, the reception team weren't sure that the doctor I was to see was in the correct field for me anymore and were going to check but I didn't hear back the day of my appointment so I called and I was transferred to the Hoppers team due to the nature of my question so that they could directly ask the doctor, the first person, very rude, insisted I didn't have an appointment and was saying that I hadn't replied yes to the booking confirmation text and then she wanted to speak to the reception team and the call dropped.

Second time, got some who I swear it was like they were a parot repeating the same section of a script and kept referring to my referral so he's the right doctor and I tried explaining, this isn't to do with my referral and she kept cutting me off and repeating exactly the same thing so I asked to speak to someone else, she cold transferred me to a dead line/mail box.

I called the reception team back and they were very apologetic and cancelled my appointment.

I don't understand why it costs so much for an initial appointment, I can't afford it. I know you get some back as the receptionist elitely put it inbetween her eyerolls, some people don't have $240. I won't be exploring anything heart related. Thanks.

The lady who did the Echo was lovely but everyone else I have dealt with has been rude. Good luck trying to change an appointment, they just hang up on you. Go anywhere else.

I was referred here for palpitations and stress concerns. I was keen to gain some reassurance for my symptoms from a specialist.

I had all cardiac tests done, which I was told had all come back ‘fine’ and not to worry go about my life as normal. That was great to hear but I did not find much relief in this and that the core issue was not addressed for my symptoms. Which has dramatically gotten worse since.

To then visit GP again to find out actually my tests showed some ectopic heart beats, which sure may not be of a big concern and stress related but no advice or counselling whatsoever to address this possibility. I have instead seen my regular GP to be prescribed medication to manage and will be seeking appointment with another cardiologist that has better reviews in listening to clients and concerns.

I understand specialists are busy but when I am paying the money for these services and take the time to carry out tests, I expect to have honest feedback and reassurance.

On the positive notes, the manager was very friendly and polite on the day I visited clinic and tests organised in a timely manner.

Made my second visit to the venue yesterday. Very happy with the efficient and friendly service I received. My cardiologist was very kind and knowledgeable. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Was not very impressed this morning when I turned up for my 9am appointment I have had booked for 6 months (which I called TWICE and confirmed) only to be told that the cardiologist doesn't practice from Hoppers Crossing on Thursdays. Receptionist confirmed yes, I was on their system and it wasn't my mistake. I asked what they could possibly do for me as I'd taken time off work to be there, they squeezed me in for a 10: 15 appointment in St. Albans and off I went, 30 minutes on the Ring Road in the pouring rain. I waited a further 45 minutes to be seen, only to be told that Hoppers Crossing had actually lost my holter monitor results. Sent to someone else, wiped, who knows.
I left very frustrated, only to be contacted via email with a lovely $130 invoice for my consult!
The absolute cheek and incompetence of the admin staff here is mind-blowing. Save yourself the stress and just go elsewhere.

EDIT: excellent! I look forward to talking with someone who does something other than say 'that wasn't my fault', and also to share the text I got accusing me of not returning the monitor!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would, reception staff are so unfriendly, unapproachable, rude, every time without fail I have had to call the clinic I’ve been on hold for at least 20 mins, I had a heart bug put on and they gave me all of the wrong information I had to contact HeartBug to get clarification,

Cardiologist was useless. Seemed to get his back up because I wouldn’t have another ECG. I just had one last week also had the Holter monitor so I didn’t want another one. He hadn’t even read the report from my GP and didn't listen to anything I said. Was sullen and disrespectful.

Senior cardiologist has been treating me for several years. Although admin needs improving, my care has been positive and informative.

Please avoid this clinic. They dont leave a single chance to rob money from you. When you book the appointment they don't say anything about face mask, when they send you confirmation sms, no mention of mask but when you go to clinic there is a big sign regarding face mask. If you don't have it, you can't see doctors. So you have to buy it from reception and you pay $2 for disposable mask which is free in most of the clinic. Wish I can post a pics which I took in clinic regarding mask policy.

Hi Heart west team, I couldn't find any official page or any management team to talk so I am using this platform to discuss my issue. As I have been transferred by my GP to this clinic and he informed me it is bulk billing. So I rang heart west to book my appointment, reception lady who booked me in, she confirmed me it is bulk billing and long waiting but if you are in emergency you can look for private clinic. I confirmed I am OK to wait. I rang her in 12 Dec and she gave me appointment on 3rd Feb.
On appointment day Dr check my heart beat and blood pressure and advise to book for ultrasound in reception. I asked reception lady to book me for ultrasound if it is bulk billing, she confirmed me it is bulk billing. But after I left I got a call from heart west saying I need to pay $220. I said I have been informed it is bulk billing that's why I booked. She said we have some new staff so may be there is miss communication but our Dr has charged you and you must pay. I told her it's not my mistake, if I know it's a private then why would I have waited for that long?
I asked in the reception also when I reach there today.she said I understand it's not your mistake but our Dr has charged you and you've to pay.
Please note I can't pay this amount as I have asked many time, the time of booking and the day of appointment if it's a bulk billing? Every time your team said it is bulk billing.
Hope you understand.
Thanks,
