Sonya is the most incredible wedding photographer! Working with her has truly been a delightful experience. We are beyond impressed with our photos, and would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone. Her photography is stunning, and if you love a light and airy feel, you cannot go wrong with Sonya. She is the loveliest person to work with - friendly and enthusiastic, very communicative, experienced and adaptable, someone who truly listens to her clients' wishes, and delivers above and beyond. We are so glad we decided to invest in her to shoot our wedding, and we know we will treasure these memories for decades to come.

There are so many reasons for why we would recommend Sonya! We chose her initially because out of the tonnes of Melbourne wedding photographers we looked through, we loved her use of colours and light - soft, light-filled, warm and film-like. We were so excited to find that she would be available on our chosen wedding date - on our first video chat meet up we were immediately sold as she was uber friendly, approachable and sincere. She was also incredibly helpful and patient with us with regards to ALL aspects of our wedding organisation journey. We were planning the wedding from overseas and Sonya gave us so many useful tips as only a local photographer (not just any local) would be able - we eventually went with a wedding location that she recommended and it couldn't have been more perfect! She was extremely responsive and reliable throughout as well - we felt well supported by her amongst all the stresses of the wedding, and we felt she went the extra mile for us in terms of wedding planning + communicating with other vendors. On the wedding day, she was great at finding the best light, scouting photo ops and locations and instructing us for photos. Finally, Sonya delivered exactly what we were hoping for in terms of colours and light with consistency across the final gallery - and was really quick with getting the photos back to us too! Overall, we have nothing but positive things to say! Sonya truly cares about helping to craft the ideal wedding experience based on your personal wishes & expectations - we could not be more grateful to have been gifted by her expertise and professionalism. It was great to have Sonya to be our prewedding photographer. Before the photoshoot, Sonya was very organised and patient to guide my partner and myself to plan ahead for the day. After our initial wedding date was canceled twice due to covid she was so accomodating and understanding, our complete uphaul of a lavish wedding turned into a small intimate wedding and she made two awkward people feel so comfortable in front of the camera! Thanks Sonya!

Sonya was the photographer of our dreams. From the very first moment I got into contact with Sonya, she was so attentive, enthusiastic, giving, caring, devoted, and showed sensational professionalism. I just knew she was the photographer we have both been so longing for. When our journey began together, she blew us away from the countless amounts of emails touching base on how we where feeling and devoting herself to helping us with any queries or questions along the way. She created a gorgeous heartfelt package delivered to the front door with a hand written note and some surprise goodies. And last but not least counting down the months with us until the big day! My husband and I have not had this much attentiveness or devotion from any other supplier. She was truly the best thing that could of happened to us throughout the pandemic. And we honestly felt out of all our supplies she went that extra mile and the trust that was developed was more than we have ever experienced.

And this was only the beginning!

Meeting Sonya in person for the first time, was a moment we both will never forget. She is the most warmest, devoted, inspiring and incredibly loving person and we felt so blessed to have her by our sides capturing our special day. From every special moment we wanted to be captured, she ensured it would happen. And we had complete and utter trust that every single image was going to be breathtaking.

She has such passion for her love for photography and my goodness is truely shows. She has gorgeous people skills and the entire bridal party, family and friends where raving about how beautiful and professional she was. She was so engaged and focused on capturing all the fun, love and vibrancy of the day from every small detail she made it sure it was captured. My husband and I are luckily not camera shy, yet we have never experienced so much fun, quirkiness and laughter while taking each shot, her fun and bubbly nature shon through as she helped and guided us into creating our stunningly flawless photos.

Then came the gallery!

And OH MY GOODNESS…. Sonya did not disappoint. We got sent our “sneak peeks” first of all our most special moments captured of our wedding and husband and I just burst into tears… (as I am right now typing this) goodness!
We went through every image, again and again and again and where completely and utterly speechless and sincerely and honestly blown away with how flawlessly she captured each and every moment.

Sonya, captured our entire vision and has produced the utmost, incredible, gorgeously stunning photos we have EVER SEEN! They are everything and more than we could of ever of dreamt for. We thank you again Sonya, from the bottom of our hearts for your exceptional hard work and we are so blessed and grateful and could not of been more proud to have you as our photographer.

Sonya is better than we can even put into words. As a couple who hate being in front of the camera she made it so easy and fun to be photographed. Blake and I finally got time to sit down and have a little viewing party of the photos and I'm crying all over again. You've seriously been the photographer from heaven and captured exactly what I wanted from the day. Nothing over posed, just a lot of laughs and love with the people/ animals we love most. My husband and I LOVED having Sonya as our wedding photographer. She made the journey so easy and was so supportive when our wedding got cancelled multiple times. She was amazing to work with and we felt so comfortable with her. We had no idea how to pose and thankfully she was there to help us! Sonya makes it very personalised. She took us out to breakfast to find out what we were looking for in a photographer. During both our wedding and engagement sessions, she made it as relaxing and comfortable as possible. Especially if you’re not a big fan of being in front of the cameras, she knew the things to do and say to make you feel relax. I could not recommend her enough! Especially with trying to celebrate our wedding in the COVID year and all the changes we had to make, she was very accomodating and understanding. I can't recommend Sonya enough! My partner wasn't comfortable in front of the camera but with Sonya as our photographer, you couldn't even tell. She guided us through the whole shoot & made us feel so comfortable. Time passed so quickly because of how fun it was - you can expect quality conversations and lots of laughs! We had trouble choosing our favourite photos because there were just too many of them. You won't regret hiring her.

It is not about the photographic skills, and not about what kind of camera is it to be used. It is about how much the photographer shows passion and shows her love of her work.
It isnt the first time having cameras up close to me, to work with photographers, or friends who like picture takings etc- you do get to notice who are honest and who doesnt “work” like a machine.
I am very shy in some ways when cameras are on, but Heart + Soul Weddings truely puts in the extra love to find the chemistry for the couple/family/and the photographer herself to bring out the best and most honest moments of the time.
Albeit when you are smilling, yelling, running away, and even when crying, she still seizes the warmth of that split second - that would never come back to you - and freezes it for you in a forever frame to look back to over and over again.
I realized how i tear up again even when looking at my own pictures! I know i am the luckiest because i get to have her again for the next wedding party all over!

We had the pleasure of having Sonya from Heart + Soul Weddings photograph our pre-wedding photos. Her professionalism, calm and good humour nature managed to make my usually quiet and awkward-before-a-camera husband very relaxed. Sonya made us feel so comfortable during our engagement shoot. She was full of clever photography methods to get those perfect lovey dovey shots. I usually don't like photos of myself but I fell in love with the photos. That eager wait for the photos was nearly non existent, she presented us with 20 sneak peak photos the very night of the photoshoot and the rest just 4 days later. Sonya, you're amazing!

Sonya was the greatest choice we made for our wedding and maternity shoot photos. Right from the start, she made us always feel comfortable and her style just captured us in every way.
