I am a Manager in the Aged Care sector who has recently been successfully recruited to a new DON position with the support of Dan at Hobson HR. Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience with this recruitment agency. We were constantly promised nurse resumes by a certain date which most of the time didn't eventuate and required me to constantly follow up. When we did receive applicant's resumes, they had incorrect information on the cover page (mainly around availability to start) and some of them did not match our requirements (e.g they were looking for full time when were were looking for part-time). Upon interviewing some of the applicants, they had been mislead re salary expectations and also re flexibility around hours, which had been previously discussed with the recruiter.

Recently we requested the links to ALL ad's that the recruiter had placed. We received links to eight ad's, NONE of them were for our clinic and stated positions like "Practice Manager in X suburb" (not the suburb that our clinic is in).

On several occasions, the recruiter also referred to an applicant that we "interviewed", which in fact we never interviewed as prior to an interview taking place I received an email from the recruiter stating "X has contacted me today and unfortunately has withdrawn her application due to securing another position". I reminded the recruiter of this however he continued to refer to this applicant in multiple emails after advising me she has withdrawn her application.

The above points are all documented in email correspondence from me to the recruiter.

Last week we reverted to placing our own ads as we have received only 4 serious applicant resumes since January. With another few that didn’t even get to the interview round before pulling out due to the distance or accepting another role.

All in all, we had a terrible experience and paid a significant amount of money for a service which we simply did not receive.

I cannot speak highly enough of my experience working with Hobson Recruitment over the previous two years. Dan and his team are attentive and engaging, and have not put a step wrong in helping to achieve positive outcomes when we have reached out to them. Highly recommended.
