Nice place. Service was attentive and friendly. Food a bit pretentious and average but ok.

The food was mediocre for south east asian food. The service was terrible. There was no time limit advised in booking confirmation on email. When we were there for 1 hr 15min, we got asked to finish up because the table was only for 1.5 hrs - noting there were other spare tables at the time and not yet fully occupied. Whilst we were trying to finish all the food on the table, the staff came 5 minutes after to remind again. That really ruined the experience there. Less than an hour and a half to gulp down the drinks and food whilst you would like to enjoy dinner with your company is not my thing. This restaurant will suit some people wanting to race to finish dinner and wine.

One of the best places in Melbourne. Great music and great service. Gets packed so get in early. Ask for Troy. What a great person.

Food is delicious and service is good as well. Really enjoyed the food here. Had the banquet last time and it has plenty of food.

Ordered Father’s Day Feed Me Box for Father’s Day celebration delivery from Hawkers Hall due today between 9am - 6pm, subsequently updated to 1-7pm then at 4.30pm texted ‘unable to be delivered’, with no explanation for non delivery or revised time of delivery, what an absolute disgrace to ruin such an occasion and at such late notice leave us suddenly make alternate dinner plans. I’m still waiting on the status of my ‘Friday’ order as at 11pm the day of delivery and response from customer care.

Vaulted ceilings, great atmosphere and delish food. As a group of 10, we paid separately and there was money still owing.items were not deleted from the bill as people paid, so confusion as to what had been paid.

This my my second time at Hawkner Hall for dinner. We chose the feed me menu - 2 out of 3 wanted this option (it states on menu minimum of 2 people can choose this) however we’re told all members of table had to choose this option and the third person couldn’t order separately. Throughout the dine in the food brought was delicious and we really enjoyed it however we found our waitress to be rude. She would come over to the table whilst we were eating and remind us how long we had left at the table. We hadn’t even had dessert yet and she was coming over and pointing to her watch at us. Constantly walking past our table and then checking her watch. We felt under pressure and rushed that we couldn’t enjoy our dinner. I also want to note that covid regulations were not being followed with tables of different parties sitting very close together.

Nothing short of amazing and value for money on chapel street. Delicious food and great friendly staff

Our first time at this place, and loved their seafood laksa, Assam curry with white fish and coconut rice pudding.

Ambience, layout and service - all excellent.

Cocktails with "hawker style food". Yes! The food is very much geared to the Australian understanding of Asian flavour profiles, so it will be a great spot for a group catch up (something for everyone). It's on the pricy side, but in keeping with its location and clientele.

Food was good but hardly anytime to eat. We ordered the $66pp banquet option and couldn’t even finish it! We were pressured continuously about the time we had to leave - even when we hadn’t received the rest of our food! The starters came out quickly, but we waited a while for the mains. In the end, we had about 5mins to eat our desserts (while paying at the table!). Very disappointing considering the price per person. Banquet shouldn’t be an option if it’s too slow to bring out. Won’t go back while the seatings are only 90minutes. Beware.

I absolutely loved this place. We were almost turned away as they were so booked out and busy, however, one of my friends talked them into letting us get a quick meal. It was so worth it too. Delicious and filling. The week after going here I was craving this food so much! Wish I took photos of our food!

Our booking was for 2 people, albeit the timing of the booking was only for 90mins and we had ordered the banquet which was piled on us at the 1hr 10min mark. At that point we had no time to eat all the amazing food we had ordered. We were asked to leave by 1hr 30min on the dot, at which time our plates were cleared (half full, whilst still eating) and handed the Cheque. We had no time to enjoy our meal or drink our final cocktails

We did the $66 banquet for 6 people. Good night of nibbling and chatting. Food was ok but not great or amazing. Definitely not like South east Asia like Singapore or Malaysia. Lack kick and flavours.
Overall okay visit.

Food is overprice.they are moving too far away from south east asian cuisine and it isn't even better, just sweet and wrong sauce.

3 items $30 worth of missing (Roti canai, two cocktails) in the order. Order #7649 May 1st. Only two options to when tried to contact. Either you book a reservation or a future reservation but there is no option that directs the call to restaurant staff.
Food tasted good but very disappointing when there are missing items.
