Hawker Boys reviews
615 star for the quality of food and service! Only 4 stars as the toilets aren’t very convenient. However we had a wonderful dining experience here, we tried a lot of different dishes and they were ALL outstanding! The VFC and Steam Dumplings were my favourite. Highly recommend coming here for dinner if you’re craving an Asian feed. Outdoor dining area isn’t great as the tables are very small and rock around a little, we dined inside instead.
Had a lovely lunch here - food is fresh and tasty, staff are efficient, and the menu is reasonably priced too!
Tried grilled chicken banhmi, wasn't impressive. Friend tried pho found the portion to be too little
Average food.
Disappointed by size of vegan pancake and hot pot for price.
Taste was also average.
Hands down the best Vietnamese Pancake (Bánh Xèo) and Vegan Pho in Melbourne I’ve tried Banh Xeo and Tofu Pho at many places but they were no where near as good and tasty as this place. Good food, good price, lovely service. I would definitely come back
Great Hardware lane location (which means it's busy and loud). Staff were lovely. Food was fresh and delicious. Soups were good and vermicelli noodles also good.
For $18-$19, the portion size was a joke. I've never seen such a small serving size of pho. Everybody I ate with was still hungry after the meal and we are relatively small people. The taste of the meal was average/acceptable.
Not very generous with their portions. 13$ banh mi, only half as filling as you’d expect from anywhere else.meh.
Hands down the best prepared Pho I have ever had. I had a beef Pho. The rice noodles were cooked to perfection. The beef was tender and perfectly cooked. The broth was flavourful and not overpowering.
Noisy inside. More fast food than a dining experience. Food was sweet but fresh. OK but don’t expect a fine dining experience.
Amazing gluten free food. Fast service. Had the pork belly and curry chicken. So delicious. Ate it too fast to get photos. The gluten free dumplings were average but everything else was amazing.
If your reading this review right now and thinking of if you should try this, Hurry up and book reserve a table or just go in this is one of the best places as the food quality is top notch with friendly staff and perfect service. I have booked my birthday here at night and everything was perfect the owner was very nice of letting me decide on how the seating should be and let me bring my own music so eveyrone can enjoy. GO NOW
Char shu banh mi is just regular pork with hoi sun sauce. Not a fan. Also missing some crucial banh mi elements like the pate, maggi sauce, butter, salt and pepper. Good for the western palate, but not what you normally expect of a banh mi
Had lunch here today, first time. Vermicelli salad bowl and crispy chicken spare ribs, so good! Thank you.
Chicken was mostly bone and not meaty, really overpriced along with the dumplings, the saigon beef pho was delicious and filling, side dishes r more expensive and not worthy imo
Found after searching for a Asian eatery near my accommodation.
Staff were friendly - and very upfront about wanting to deal with any allergies our group had.
Pho was good - but not the greatest I've had by any means. Service times were slightly on the longer side than I expect for a Vietnamese joint.
Prices were all over the place - pho was a reasonable $16, whilst dumplings were $16 for 6 and rice paper rolls were $12 for 2 - stupidly expensive in my opinion.
Found this place on the famous Hardware Lane.
They have a good selection of Vietnamese food. We ordered the Grilled Chicken Bowl and the Rice Paper Rolls.
The food was surprisingly good!
I will definitely come back again to try more food
Nice place. There were quite a number of people outside so had mine in. Nice deco with funky wall illustrations (which I loved), although the my table could've been cleaned a bit better (it was sticky), although the place was quite clean. I ordered wonton noodle soup which was good for the price. The wontons were well prepared and juicy. The egg noodles were fresh as was the soup. I did miss the kick from this item, so cutting a here. Nonetheless, a fun place with nice ambiance and decent food. Worth exploring again in the future.
Vegan pho tofu crust tuned into slim with pho heat.carrots were like mush. Should have got the pho opposite Hawker Boys. Very disappointing and $$for what it was
