Harry the hirer

When we were initially told we would have to use Harry the Hirer for our wedding we were sceptical. Our concerns were immediately put to rest the moment we met Lara. She was so incredible throughout the whole process and the end result was absolutely perfect!

First and hopefully last time I will ever use Harry the Hirer. I don't mind being charged above average, but I have never been charged the prices charged by Harry the Hirer, who IMHO have clearly taken advantage of the situation, which leaves me with a very low opinion about this company where greed is the only explanation. Make sure you check out other companies first as you will be taken for a ride if you decide to work with this company. Other reviews are of similar content, so obviously not alone in my opinion.

Worst customer service ever. Enquired three separate times through their website, No response. Tried reaching out through Facebook. Finally heard back and was told I’d hear back by Monday. It is now Wednesday and still nothing. Tried Facebook one last time, read message and no response. Big waste of time.

Cannot recommend this vendor enough for weddings. They were great to deal with and when I had an issue afterwards with something that had gone wrong on the night, I felt it was dealt with in such a considerate way. I even asked where they would like a review and Monica said to me no need your happiness is what matters most! Would absolutely use again.

Mel Dyer and her wonderful team created magic at our venue The Button Factory, the Harry's team (Mel, Melinda, Andrew) were nothing short of amazing! Not only do they hold themselves to such a high standard, they are the most incredibly lovely team that exude positivity and a wonderful energy at all times. It was a pleasure to work with the team for Jemma and Matts wedding!

I’m a corporate musician and I’ve gotta say nine out of ten times I’ve had the mis-pleasure of playing an event that has hired Harry the hire to provide sound and an engineer for events/weddings It’s been a disaster. The knowledge of the staff is severely lacking and they over charge and fill the room with unnecessary speakers that they then can’t use because the staff working that evening has no idea how to mix a room.

I cannot speak more highly of this professional and lovely team. Great communication and made the whole process easy.

Hired some furniture and table linen for my sisters hens and it was perfect! The two guys that delivered the furniture were super friendly!
I was dealing with Georgia C and she was a great help (especially when we had to reschedule the event due to covid!

I definitely don’t recommend getting a job with Harry the hirer. The event staff get paid low wages with no weekend or holiday penalties. The turnover is terrible; so don’t get expect to feel like you’re part of any team. You’re just another cog in the system. The workers are educated in a manner so they don’t get full pay when Harry’s cuts corners by not stopping for lunch. Also don’t pay for your uniform because they won’t reimburse you once you’ve returned it as promised.

Don't hire from here, go purchase the products elsewhere as it'll work out cheaper in the long run for you.
Good product but they sting you if you don't return everything perfect and worst of all, without explanation, they just arbitrarily charge you a fee for anything not perfectly returned.
We hired napkins for our wedding for a high fee and they were a decent quality, however a few were lost prior to return. Our sales rep assured us that it'd be fine, however shortly after we received a notice stating that we would be penalised an arbitrary fee for not returning the napkins - the fee was more than the napkins would've cost to supply! We requested justification but none was forth coming, they deducted our security deposit and proceed without consultation.
Ultimately we paid easily twice the price of manufacture for these products and were left disappointed at being ripped off - it made for a sour conclusion on something good.

Absolute JOKE of a company - after speaking to numerous people about a job advertised on a Second year visa job sign off page on Facebook and being told by LIZ that it 100% will be for visa sign off - then the next day after packing up our whole house ready for the weeks drive to this 100% definitely signs off your visa job - got told that they didn't understand the question I asked and are sorry for my trouble (even though it is very clear and i asked a number of people a few times and it was advertised on the visa sign off FB page). Absolute unorganised and unprofessional. If this is how they sort staff, god knows how poor their events will be! If i could give a lower star i would!

Harry the Hirer were fantastic! From the moment we contacted them the staff were super friendly and helpful. The furniture arrived right on time and was clean, comfortable and looked great. Delivery and pick was so easy - would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

We were quoted and paid for a 10 x 10 marquee. They arrived today to set up the marquee with only an 8 x 10 marquee. The function is on Sunday and we now don't have enough space for everything we have organised and no one is willing to take responsibility for their stuff up. Now we are left trying to reorganise everything after their stuff up.because we have time for this just 3 days out from the party.

They have been unhelpful and unwilling to try and offer a solution not to mention not taking any accountability for THEIR stuff up.

Service was good and friendly but the installation and condition of the furniture lets this company down. Everything we hired for a expo was in very worn condition and dirty. For the cost i would expect much better. I would not recommend Harry the hirer unless you want heavily worn furniture.

These guys are excessively and unreasonably expensive. Tried to charge me $900+ to use a projector that was already at the venue (these are usually free no?)

Also tried to charge $1200 to use 2x 55" TVs also at the venue. I could have bought the same two TVs for the same price at JBHifi!

I ended up bringing my own.

In economics you would call this monopoly/cartel behaviour.

Horrible service and not friendly.do not recommend using this as you may want to try an alternative such as placesettings where all your event hiring needs are covered at a low price
