Hardrock Climbing

We go to the Hardrock Climbing house almost three times a week. Nice and friendly staff! Highly recommend!

Staff are professional and take care to ensure new climbers like me and my family feel safe, understand the equipment and have fun. Definitely going back! Again

Great high walls and very safe set up, enough climbs and belays for all abilities and despite two large groups coming in when we were there, there was plenty of space to climb

My family loved it. Stayed for hours getting through a good variety of climbing levels. Good to see shoes for rent too.
Good quality gear and some challenging climbs to do.

Hardrock's biggest plus is its location. The place does need a freshen up though - compared to some of the newer gyms it's looking a little tired.

Great location, varied climbing (plus some harder stuff to aspire to), a friendly atmosphere, and an expansive view! It's lead, top rope and autobelay only (so no bouldering), and no training area (unless you count two neglected hangboards that are mounted too high off the ground to be functional).

The staff are friendly and helpful, but their choice of music can be a bit hit or miss (gym music shouldn't make you want to join a goth cult), and more seriously there can be a bit of variation in their approach to belayers - from "meh" to "I want you to short rope your climber until he's at the fourth draw".

Did a private lead course with 2 friends. Our instructor James was extremely friendly and made learning something difficult, simple. Made sure we came out comfortable and knowledgeable, was happy to answer any doubts or questions we had. Overall was a very pleasant experience.
Passed a lead assessment at another gym later that day, so can comfortably say we got taught well thanks James

It’s an awesome place to go with friends have fun and do some exercise! The instructors were very friendly and made the training very easy. They take safety very seriously.

Only downside being some of the (very young) staff tend to interfere with climbers or belayers with their advice (even distracting belayers mid-climb).
Some of these kids haven't been alive for as long as I and some colleagues have been climbing, it's an unnecessary annoyance.

Amazing place and super friendly staff here! Great facilities and it's very clean inside. Would recommend it to anyone who would like some indoor activities. This place is kids friendly and family friendly.

Excellent place for rock climbing. Very friendly staff and very helpful. First time rock climbing and it was really nice.

The beginner's course was fun and very informative! Everyone was lovely and so helpful except for a bit of mild racism I had to experience from an older male instructor. Anyhow it was still great!

Shared a fantastic evening with a group of friends at this place. It was my first proper rock climbing experience. Had so much fun in this safe/vibrant environment. The staff were super friendly & professional. It’s a great bonding activity that I would totally recommend to others. Big thanks to Honor who organised this event for us xx

The best climbing experience i ever had @ Hardrock climbing. The staff was super friendly, welcoming and supportive which made the first time climbers comfortable and confident.
Spot on equipments, clear instructions and support provided at every step. Vibrant and fun vibes, definitely a place to experience something new.

I went here one Thursday night with 3 work colleagues/friends and had an amazing time! The instructor's Marshall and Dylan were very patient and helpful. Marshall was kind enough to take group photos for us too. I would highly recommend going here

Busy but it was alot of fun. The workers there did an awesome job with the amount of people who they got bombarded with. Go team

Great place, friendly staff, tall walls. An amazing place for beginners and experienced climbers alike.

The location was accessible in cbd, that’s how I started with the meet up group. It had a great variety of difficulties and not too packed even on a Friday night. Staffs are nice and helpful, let me in even when I didn’t book. Hoping to return more often.

Some routes were difficult to identify due to lighting and similar colors near each other (yellow/white and blue/green under yellow lights).

Still fun sets with good flow. Solid place and highly recommend if you like TR. SO really enjoys TR and said this place was so much fun…may never get her into bouldering…
