Hankki reviews
42Decor was homey, tables need to be replaced as they don't fit the vibe. Food was fantastic, service was great. Very quiet little spot. Ate fried chicken, army stew and kimchi pancake all was great. Fried chicken was phenomenal as it was very crispy and insanely juicy. Should be busier on a Thursday night, people are missing out on this hidden gem.
We passed through the area and decided to have lunch in this restaurant as the other shops around there are too busy and we didn't want to wait. We ordered the ginseng chicken soup and the pork Katsu on Rice. The soup was bland and the chicken was quite dry. The pork Katsu was slightly better but the accompanying sides like the spring roll and takoyaki ball were sub-par. Only 1 waiter is in front of the house so service is a little slow.

We couldn’t find any Korean BBQ place at Friday night. So the staff who works at the Korean BBQ recommended us to try HANKKI.
The staff at HANKKI was very friendly. She offered us a big table. We ordered beef bimbibap, Ppyeo Haejang Guk (pork bone soup) and rice wine. The meals came with some lovely side dishes. The food was delicious and valuable to the price. We definitely will come back again and recommend to our friends.
Their spicy port or spicy chicken dishes are amazing. Good service. Highly recommended restaurant
As a big fan of Korean food, I won't recommend this restaurant! The fried chicken were the same as the ones in KFC, the Korean soup was just salty. It was not authentic Korean food at all.
Delicious Korean food and first rate service.
The spicy cheesy chicken and spicy pork are the best!
Still Awesome
So disappointed service wise as well as quality of food. This restaurant was one of the best Korean Restaurants in Carnegie. I ordered most Korean Popular Food it's BiBimbap, never expected Vegetarian chopping such a small pieces and oily rice. Looks like Not a Korean Style at all.
Disappointing.
We ordered bibimbap & galbijjim. I've never seen a galbijjim that doesn't come with any kind of veggie. It would normally come with chopped carrots & onions.
The veggies in bibimbap were soaked in oil.
Delicious Korean food and first rate service.
The spicy cheesy chicken and spicy pork are the best!
Fantastic place to drop in for lunch, with (at the time of writing) $10 lunch deals from 11: 30 - 2: 30 as pictured. Options include your choice of meat (or a vegetarian option) rice, some side dishes like potato, takoyaki and a samosa. Great taste and value. Will definitely try out during dinner.
Lunch specials are good value and portion sizes are pretty decent. I had the mushroom rice dish and it was tasty and filling.
Food was fantastic! Great servings for the prices and the staff let us stay for a bit after closing so we could finish our meal which was really sweet
Awesome food, Fried chicken is a must try. Spicy rice cakes packs a punch! Galbi is great value
Giving 5 stars is a big call, but when a place deserves it, I do it wholeheartedly.
There are many restaurants now on Koornang Road in Carnegie, and competition is tough for customers. However, Hankki doesn't have to worry about that. With the food, service, atmosphere and price as they are now, they can quite happily rub their hands with satisfaction.
Jjigae and bibimbap were quite tasty, and presentation was mouthwatering.
The staff were always there, but very discreet.
Although the restaurant was full, it didn't feel noisy.
In simplest terms - great place for a meal, highly recommended!
Been here several times! Super delicious Korean dishes. And my favorite fried chicken! I personally think they do the best original fried chicken here. And the gentleman at the counter is always super busy serving the tables and the counter but at the same time also always so welcoming and friendly. Thank you guys for the great service and food!
I’m a korean went with a Japanese friend, we both think that our home dishes got insulted. The food in this so called “korean Japanese “ restaurant wasn’t tasty at all and the beef they used wasn’t a good part, seafood r not fresh.
Service was good though.
Highly recommend this place, well priced, amazing service and best of all awesome flavour!
The budae jigae and japchae were delicious
Good Korean food, good service & well priced (their beef short ribs were good but a bit chewy & would require a pair of scissors)
Round 2 of my dinner tonight.
My second time at this Korean Restaurant. Never disappointed!
Excellent service!
Love the food and worth the wait. He waiter was working by himself on a busy Saturday night, but he stilled has bright smile on his face and very apologetic for his delayed service.
He looked us well, in fact he looked after all customers well tonight. Deserves a pat on his back for the out standing customer focused services!
Highly recommended: Samgye-tang
I can smell the Gin Seng when the soup was serviced on the table!
The chicken was full of Gin Seng flavour as well!
Always meet my Korean mates (they reckon Hankki is one of the best Korean restaurant in Mel). Their food is always fantastic and service is unmatched A+. Always feel welcome and have a great experience. Love this place
