Halls Gap Visitor Information Centre reviews
44Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Many thanks especially to Julie for going above and beyond the call of duty to aid a couple of lost tourists. Made our day!
Family-perfect holiday spot. Walking, golf, rest, good restaurants, friendly people. What more is there?
Very warm and welcoming staff, i was able to get detailed information on good hikes around the national park. The guy at the reception was really passionate about his job.
Also, the hot showers for 3$ were really good. Excellent service for travellers.
Went to the Grampians without doing much research. Great place to find out which tracks and where to go and the must see sights. Hands down to the solo guy Tim running the show on his own! Super patient and super informative! Keep up the good work!
Can’t complain because you can get the information you need for the area. However there are never any really good walking maps available anywhere in Halls Gap. They just don’t seem to make them. What’s needed is a road map of at least the wonderland area and near by surrounds with walking tracks clearly marked and their times and distance and walking capabilities. But you can get the basics here and help with accommodation options and camp ground info
Halls Gap is an essential hub for the Grampians the craft beer bar makes a great place to consider your next move.
Hikes and accommodation are greatly varied, and the vistas are well worth the effort.
Enjoy
Barely any freely available information, don’t waste your time here. Go to Brambuk instead. If you do want to pay for a good map book go to the newsagency and get a copy of Monica & Phil Coleman’s excellent book.
Very informative staff, worth visiting. Plenty of maps, places to visit and many of different accommodation. Recommend
Helpful. Wish we'd gone here earlier. We've been having trouble finding details about what to see. The Grampians book has a list of must sees but the details are short about how to get there how long the drive, length of walk or difficulty. Needs a rethink. There is a better map brochure available from info centre from parks Vic available for $4, worth having. Shame we are leaving tommorow.
The lady at the information centre is very friendly and provides the best information and suggestions for the places to visit based on your requirements and days.
The woman who assisted wasn't very helpful and she didn't seem to know what she was talking about?
I didn't get information today however they once directed me to a safe place to stay and thoroughly enjoyed my holiday. That was in November 2019
There was not nearly enough information about what to do, see or where to go if you have physical restrictions. Hopefully once covid19 restrictions are over they will be more forthcoming
Very helpful althoggh $3.50 for a 'detailed hiking map' was a let down. I expected a map that was detailed. Not really. Don't waste your money, better off just looking at the wall map and taking a pic. This is much more detailed and easier to read too.
A small centre with a stand with takeaway pamphlets, but if all you do is take the map and move on you are missing the best advice. The assistants behind the desk are a wealth of information. Tell them the type of walk you are after and they will give you a number of suggestions that are tailored to how you want to enjoy your holiday.
The lady at the counter was very helpful and funny. She gave us enough of sightseeing to do for the next two days.
Rang up to request visitors information. Julie was VERY unhelpful and made me feel sad and depressed. She ended the conversation by saying "I've got to go, I've got people waiting". I'd only been on the phone with her for about 2 minutes!
People waiting? People? What am I? Chopped Liver? Very poor customer relations. Julie needs lessons in how to treat customers with basic respect.
A spot that's got the options on eatery but extremely pricy and an ice cream shop that's got a long line. Best to just get to the other ice cream shop to save some of your valuable time
Friendly staff. Convenient place for a toilet break after a long drive. Lots of accommodation options to consider. While we were there Seppelts Great Western was offering a great selection of wines for tasting and purchase.
