This school thinks it’s okay for a male student to put his arm around a females neck and it’s ok because his a sports captain The staff are not much better yr 10 sub school male teacher just brushed it aside like it’s nothing he has small man syndrome the worst school and biggest mistake putting any child in this school

Worst decision I ever made putting my daughter in this school. I found the teachers to be highly incompetent and the bullying is out of control and the teachers apparent duty of care is lacking to say the least. I wouldn’t recommend school to anyone I’m taking my child out and she’s going back to her old school.

I was hesitant to enroll my children in this school, they were in Gleneagles. Gleneagles does not deal well with bullying and has become a rough school. My children hated Gleneagles so I enrolled them here. I have no idea why this school has such a bad reputation, teachers are better, reception staff friendly (bursa at Gleneagles completely unapproachable). Yes some kids don't want to learn however if your children have good studying schools they will get somewhere.

This school as made my brother get up early and go to school because it is a rugby school. It has changed my brothers life and he is doing his first year as this school. I recommend hallam senior collage and give it a sporty 5

I had my son study in the so called reputed schools for 3 years before shifting him to Hallam for his year 10. Turned out the best decision I ever made for him.:)

He is doing very well in his studies and has learnt a lot of life skills. A child who wasn't interested in Maths, has opted for Maths Methods for his VCE. He is currently study to be a psychologist. Thanks to his wonderful teachers who helped him identify his potential and encouraged him to try.

I am very happy with the teachers and their academic team. They are always prompt and there to help even for very trivial matters from the parents perspective.

I have received regular updates about my son's performance. I love the parent teacher meetings where they provide constructive feedback about your child's performance.

I am positive that very soon the ATAR score of Hallam Senior College would be on par with the so called reputed schools.

More than Academic scores, I am happy that my son has evolved as a better human being at Hallam. He just loves the school and the teachers.

Thanks to the Academic Team and the Teachers of Hallam.:)

Went here years ago. Don't know how its now but though i'd write a review.

1. Saw the school captain come out of the girls restroom with two girls.
2. Some European students didn't like race mix, so they always made sure to keep the school segregated.
3. Some teachers are ok, but some need to take interest.
4. Had a lot of friends here so I know how things work in this school. Take my advice. DO NOT SEND YOUR DAUGHTER HERE.

As for education. Honestly, I didn't really learn anything. Im not saying its all because of the teacher but them taking discipline seriously could have helped.

This school lacks teachers who take interest in disciplining students, therefore other students don't learn. Instead they only learn how to survive racism, and girls in this school are also mistreated.

I found this school to be quite good, nice facilities and staff were great and easy to get along with.

This school really has a bad reputation but for what?

If you want to get an education and you are dedicated to getting an education then this school is no worse than any other school in the area. I went to Hallam, got the ATAR I needed and got into my first preference course. Most teachers here are knowledgeable and will go above and beyond for your education if you do.

A lot of the time Hallam teachers get a bad rap because their students under-performing is seen as a reflection on them.
Academically Hallam seems to be a poorly performing school.
While it is true Hallam generally has a lower ATAR than other local schools, but this is because a high proportion of Hallam students attend for the sports academy. Generally speaking, the sports academy focus much more on sport than their grades and as a result the school's average ATAR is lowered significantly.
